Great review. I've always considered this a spiritual sequel to P.O.W. The character stances, player 1 having the fingerless gloves, and the fact a majority of enemies fly off screen when defeated. The games could share similar members on each of their design teams, I have no clue, but it makes sense, at least to me anyway, that some of the POW voodoo rubbed off on this post Final Fight release. I see it being connected like Street Smart / Fatal Fury 1, or better yet Golden Axe / Alien Storm
Botza Brand Thanks man. Ah yes, I remember POW from the NES days. I can see some of the similarities, minus the weapons. In both games, the enemies will flash once they are close to being defeated. I'm surprised SNK didn't make a proper POW sequel for the Neo Geo. They needed more action side scrollers.
Didn't think I'd like this one but it's a lot of fun to play through. Despite owning the U.S. AES version, I've on,y ever played the MVS version all the way through (Thanks to free play :) )
***** It's not the best beat 'em up in the world, but it's pretty darn good. It can be tough to complete the game in the allotment of credits they give you. Stage 3 is when they really start to get aggressive especially the enemies that have the long claw/tentacles. They can take out a good chunk of our health. For the bosses, having special attack B is the way to go.
I had the chance to buy the aes version of this for £100 last year but I was already buying Last Resort off the guy so turned it down , both have shot up in value since !
The hit detection issues leave much to be desired. This, Sengoku 2 & 3 are the best beat em' ups on the system, imo. I still got to overview this game.
***** I notice it with the jump attacks, otherwise it's pretty good. I would like to get Sengoku 2 or 3 for the MVS, but they are pricey. I could've sworn you covered this game already.

Ricky looks like Kyo Kusanagi.

I really like this game a lot, not the best beat-em-up ever but I don't care I have fun with it.
***** That's the best way to describe this game.
Great review, Sry I overlooked this video! Great job, quite informative!
+Aaron Classic Gamer Thanks a lot :-D

minks36 Aw man, that sucks. Considering what it goes for now, 100 pounds is a bargain.
Yeah it's like £250 - £300 now in 2017. what I paid for mine

NeoTurboManiac 78 Pricey indeed. Finding Sengoku 2 is a herculean task all by itself.
The last official MVS cart for Sengoku 3 on eBay went for $145. AES cart was $1,000.
NeoTurboManiac 78 Yeah, I got Sengoku 3 ( U.S. version ) a few years ago for the AES for a reasonable price.
Nice. I'm sure it was a hell of a lot less than what is goes for now. :-D
