Oooh, adding ALL of these to my TBR! Very unique choices on here. How Much of These Hills is Gold particularly caught my interest.
Bone Tomahawk is something else. Great list
I've read All The Pretty Horses, and now you've given me an excuse to get onto reading The Crossing.
This intro is everything 👉🏽
Some recs I think you might dig:
1. "Butcher's Crossing" by John Williams. (old-school Western)
2. "Whiskey When We're Dry" by John Larison. (new-school Western)
3. "All Things Left Wild" by James Wade. (RDR-ish Western)
Hopefully you'll enjoy those three, and my suggestions weren't all hat.
I have Butchers Crossing on my TBR I’ve heard a lot of great things.
Thanks for the other recs!
You're in my top 3 favorite channels atm. You're killin it bro
Nicest thing anyone has ever said to me
I was ready to tell you that I had never really even thought of Western as a genre, I was adding the first four to my TBR list, and I think I'll pick up one of the Zahler books as soon as I can find one, and then you got to number 1! A book I've actually read! I really enjoyed The Hunger! I never really considered it as a western but of course it is! Super excited to check out one of the other books now!
Giddy up pardner
@@Crizzybooks picked up all the pretty horses, only one they had at the store, I'll read that then get to the 2nd book that you suggested!

Top intro!
DESTIMGATIZE THE WESTERN GENRE! That's what's up! I'm interested in a lot of these. Thank you for these recs! The Crossing is also my favorite from The Border Triology. If you like Gwynne's style of history book, I recently read Hymns of the Republic, and I recommend it. It's about the last years of the American Civil War, and it was one of my favorite books covering the topic.
I might do that, not a huge nonfiction guy but I thought that book was great.
