Every generation brings something from the last and either makes it better or makes it worse. All 3 of my kids are Gen Z. Two are military and the last thing on their mind is festivals, feels more like always waiting for WW3 to happen and me counting the days until they get out. My youngest is in school to be a nurse and with the healthcare system in the U.S she knows she’s in for a difficult task but she loves helping people. None of my Gen Z kids are like me, a xennial, all I wanna do is be a hippie because I missed out on the 70’s, smoke weed, eat some shrooms and dance under the moon and make a decent garden not filled with chemicals. Most of the Gen Z I know either do really well in life or they live at home with their parents and can’t (can’t find a job in this economy) or don’t want to work because their millennial or Gex X Parents are busting their butts trying to keep their family afloat in this economy. The same Gen Z’s will complain about not being able to pay rent or ever have a mortgage but they’ll pay big bucks for festivals and parties. But then they want 20$ minimum wage but can’t figure out why a cheeseburger will be 5$ or the the median cost of a home is 500,000.. they don’t understand that the way we vote contributes to the problem and that goes for every single country not just U.S. we all have to unite but instead loving beautiful people are going to festivals like Wonderland and getting shot. Wars are waging across the planet, people are being murdered, slaughtered even. I 100% agree with you, we need to love each other and be kind but it’s not one generation that’s going to save us, it’s people of every age, race, religion need to unite and change or WW3 is coming in all of our lifetimes and it will be devastating. We definitely need to change our governments.

The boomers and other olds are a significant part of the consumer base, so yeah the youth are counterculture. They come from all sorts, I would also call the hyper traditionals a counterculture too, for even if they're reactionary they still go against mainstream culture. I"d say there are many countercultures not just one. I feel a lil disconnected in general nowadays. How are you doing today?
