@@gitara2D it is a score multiplier.no matter what way you get points. One blue dot (once round the loop) give 1.5x regular score (goals, injured players, the bumper thing, stars etc). Two blue dots (twice round the loop) gives 2x regular score (goals, injured players, the bumperthing, starts etc).
It's a multiplier for scored goals you can get it twice. Also hit the ball thing on the sides and it powers up the ball then throw it at the players and wipes out loads of their health
@@jonsnell8959 it's more than that. It multiplies the score for EVERYTHING.more points for the stars, for goals, for the bumper thing for Injuring players.
I was just playing the original Amiga SB2 for the first time in decades last night. What I noticed was that in division 2 you could run around the field like Messi, but as soon as you come up against the best Division One teams doing this is just asking for an injury, which of course means you have to spend your precious money repairing the injured players, so then you go to what I call 'Smashmouth Speedball', where you let them have the ball and smash them to tackle them, throw the ball forward high and far, then repeat. Great game, even now. I just got the HD version because you can play beyond 2 seasons, hence my being here checking out a review.
My twitch skills were a lot better when I was 14 years old and I remember using this tactic and absolutely smashing Super Nashwan 300 points to 0. Instead of buying the star players you just pumped all your credits into the base starting team to get 250 points in all thier attributes. We need a Speedball 3 and it needs to be online.
Hmm...I'm actually not very taken by the new graphics, preferring the old look over this one. But the game looks to play just as good as the original! Still, I'm happy to have built my little RetroPie so I can just go play the original games (and thanks to the one man company Icode, I can now even play it using the original controls)! Still, a great review and video! As always! :-)
I used to live and breath this game in college. I lived in a dorm where the computer science guys lived on a floor and they had a "champion" that nobody could touch. I defeated him over 500 points to 90-something. I could light all the stars with one throw, power the ball and charge through his guys decimating them. You could even trap a fallen player next to a bumper and just rack up the points. With a multiplier activated, points were super easy. After my victory, the guy and his roommate just looked at me in disbelief. He stated he was never going to play again.. I just looked at him and responded, "I really like this game." This was the Amiga version of Speedball: Brutal Deluxe; still superior version to all in my opinion. I even bought the latest 2024 version on steam and hope that it develops nicely.
This game is epic, had it for the Amiga 500 and I have a lot of fun memories playing this in the 90s. Nearly complete the top league and got beaten last game of the season to the title by I think 1 point, I was gutted. The game play is amazing hours and hours of fun. I really want to play this version, how do it get this? Speedball 2 Get it, play it, win it!
Loved this game back in the day on my amiga. I also had it on my mobile about 10 years ago but sadly can't get it on my new mobile. Definitely needs a brand new version for modern consoles.
Got this on psp/ps3 (or at least a similar version), and could never understand why you could only play upwards. Still, it beats the GBA port of speedball 2.
Original had great gameplay. A more up to date 2024 version needs making also. This game in the 90's was ace one on one but now online against world players would be better...Soo many ideas an Soo many possibilities 👍

Ice Cream!
Wrecked several joysticks playing this back in the day, great game...
ICE CREAM! ICE CREAM! ICE CREAM!
If I recall correctly, throwing the ball through the "loopy" thing at the sides will increase the amount of points you get for stars etc.
OH! I never knew that lol, thanks!
No. It will give you more points for scoring goals.

No offence, I don't wish to play against you :-)

Couldn't agree more!
My fave move was to throw the ball above the goalie then when he jumped to catch it ,smash him in then score !!
Nice move!
cool a$$ game !!! used to play in the 90's !! LETS GO !!!
Woo!

Super game. Warning split screen PvP can get quite heated. 😅
lol I bet
I think speeding this up by 5%, it could be a lot better.
Maybe that is possible via options?
I almost made this game when working on my game. You should check it out... Legend Bowl on steam.
I shall 😌
@@SimUKReviews LMK if you need a key!
Bounce it off the beacon in the centre of the court and the ball glows red. Can then throw it straight through the keeper.
I ALWAYS wondered why that kept happening lol
Class video but the volume of the game is almost as loud as your voice. Really hard to hear at stages.
I appreciate the feedback.

2.99 at the time of typing. It would be rude not to. I still play the amiga version via emulation.
Can ya download & play it on new PCs?
Original looks WAYYYYYY better.
Really?
It doesn’t at all. It looks different, but better? No. Don’t be so dramatic.
The graphics where better on the amiga other than the ball
The graphics in the game look worse than the original on the Amiga.
I loved that game, where can I get this version, is it a PC thing only
Pretty sure it is on steam.
