I love that scene, this duet always makes me cry. I saw the whole opera on streaming of the Wiener Staatsoper but I didn’t like the production. In that scene for example you should be lying down and dying in Carlos’s arms. Whereas Kaufman is crawling on the floor ridiculously. So we lose a lot of the emotion of this wonderful scene in spite of your nice interpretation. Maybe you don’t agree but that’s what I thought when I saw it.
Coincido con tu opinión. También me gustan la voz y las condiciones actorales de Kaufmann, y en esta ocasión también me gustó la voz del baritono, la puesta en escena de la Opera, es muy fea y desmerece el talento y el esfuerzo de ambos.
