    -Gunpla: "Finally After been in that box for so long, I am full armed and ready to be in an awesome pose and the best part I am free from those horrible runners."
    Insert runner stand in the butt.

    thank you so much for so spreading this idea! I always have runners left over as well as a lighter handy and I was inspired by this video to make 4 of these in one day for my HG collection. here are my notes:
    - white plastic melts and bonds the best despite the visible burn marks
    - superglue is generally most effective to stick the stand support on for dark plastic
    - anything heavier than HG or a heavy HG with a big backpack might need extra supports on either side so it doesn’t wobble too much

But I never imagined those pesky runners can be made into action stands... maybe I should experiment with them too!!!

    I imagine if you want to make several of these at once then something like a tealight would be better than having to fiddle with the lighter. That way you could also use both hands to gauge how soft the plastic is getting.

  • @jersn5560
    @jersn5560 5 років тому +8

    Bandai should make an official implementation on this on their runners. LIke every gundam kit, there is at least one runner you can convert into an action base (minus using lighter would be great). So there is at least one runner designed to be a base, you just cut off this and that side, use this side for the stem or support, this part for the adapter or something and then snap them together. The aesthetic of runner as a base is cool gimmick and a lost opportunity for this hobby.

    i've held onto every runner from like nearly 40 models.. i have a big box full of them xD i had planned to use them for customization at some point or learn how to do plastic smelting.. but this action base idea might be a interesting idea until i get my own action bases.. i basically have 1 of each of the action bases and have thought maybe figuring out a way to clone them through silicone moulds and using resin to make them

    I use plastic cement, apply both part that needs attaching,stick together hold for about 30/60 seconds. Might takes 24 hours to fully hardened but, its as if its become one with another.
