-Gunpla: "Finally After been in that box for so long, I am full armed and ready to be in an awesome pose and the best part I am free from those horrible runners."
Insert runner stand in the butt.
-Gunpla: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
What did those runners ever do to him?XD
Makes you feel bad for them. Not trying to spread cancer, but..... PUT IT IN THEIR ***

@@NekkidSnek420 THANK YOU! JOBBY NEVER SAYS THAT ANYMORE!! I'M MISSING THE OLD DAYS!
At least now I won't have to keep swooshing my gunpla in the air
sean choy unless it's a Transforming then I understand. Lolz
I can hear the swoosh
Ik the feeling lol
Good to know I'm not the only one
Shin dan kuroto da
The amount of times he says stands makes me feel like im watching jojo part 3 again

Hey
What abot posing your gunpla like JoJo pose
I thought everyone knew about this trick... Using a soldering iron makes the plastic welding a lot easier, if you have one. You can also attach the little name plate section of the runners with the Gundam/MS name and release year in front, boom now you have a name plate!
You, sir, ARE A GENIUS
Obviously everyone didn't haha
Bandai be like : Delete that shit dude !!!
Anyway great idea
You're playing with powers not meant for mortals
Lol :D
Maybe Necronomicon was, after all, a gunpla lifehack compilation?
Bonus Points: You can then cut out some paper/cardstock/cardboard and glue it to the top of the scraptionbase
Then you can also deco the makeshift base like you would when basing miniatures.
Oh, my, god, mixing 2 of my favorite hobbies, paper craft and Gunpla, and getting an awesome result, thanks so much for the idea!
Helpful, you get a like!
Pro welding tip: the closer the parts you’re joining are in temperature, the more evenly it cools, producing a much stronger join. The same should apply here
I am new to gunpla and just bought my first one which is an rg rx (i know, bad choice, but I want grandaddy as my first one with as much detail as possible that's budget friendly). Your comment is 3 years old but it is helpful and will stay relevant for years to come. Alex Harvey, you have my gratitude. I hope you get good sloppy succs for the rest of your life.
Even better tip, skip the lighter and use plastic cement…
@@gomiko8979 nice I just started I got 3 builds so far lol my first kit was epyon mg
>makes vid about making your own action base to not pay for action bases
>shows thumbnail of moon gundam, a kit that comes with an action base
>but shows moon Gundam on the MYOAB so justified
>I think the point is not all Gundams come with one so make your own out of what you have left if you want/need
@@Quashawn51 I have zero problems with the vid. I found it funny he actively picked a kit that already has an action base as the thumbnail. that's it.
@@starwarsmaniac93 maybe to prove it's strong enough to compare with standard stands, that's at least what I was thinking
Cause Moon gundam is Just Awesome
😂😂😂 good point
I'm so glad I keep my runners in the original boxes (and keep the boxes too, because they've got very lovely art on them)! Being a hoarder is paying off!
If you think this is cool, you should see the human sized RX-78-2 Gundam someone made using runners. It's beautiful. I need one.
where can i see it?
@@mohsinburhanudin If UA-cam will let me link it, you can find it in all its glory here ua-cam.com/video/LxLjBiMJkP4/v-deo.html
There are also a mother load of more epic sets if you search for "Gundam made from runners"
Before : Runner becomes gunpla.
Now : Runner becomes stand.
Next : Runner becomes Gundam itself.
But honestly, this .. is BRILLIANT !!
Sven Tempest
oh my holy fuck thats cool
@Sven Tempest OMG
Someone already tried to melt runners and put them into molds to make gunpla, and it fking works
aye "Runner Gundam" sounds very cool
I waited my entire life for this moment
Holy hell! I had no idea you could do stuff like this with gunpla, now I'm even more indebted to my friend for getting me into the hobby, it's things like this where gunpla pretty much pays for itself XD
People thought I was crazy for keeping my runners but now I can build this and even a little hanger station for them, awesome.
And this is the reason I keep at least three kits worth of runners. Brilliant ideas like this.
Thank you so much for sharing this info! Just did it and my 00 Diver looks amazing now.
*Only for 1/144 kit*
Yeah ucan make for alll grade if you use a popsickle stick just like 😂👏
Imagine a mg sazabi ver ka.
It wil snap in pieces in less than a second
DCG909 but I suppose that if you can afford it you can afford a MG base too
@@alessandrocastelluccio8657 my mg sazabi vrka always fall in to two piece because the lower body its to heavy
@@asxius oooh, that's a heavy one too :)
Hey man, major props for giving credit to the guy on reddit so enthusiastically! I know a lot of youtubers tend to just steal content from there, so it's nice to see somebody so honest :)
I just got into gunpla recently and i am a cheap ass so this is an awesome idea. Personally i think it adds some character to your kits. ( well more character seeing as they are already are characters.) love your videos. Keep up the great content.
thank you so much for so spreading this idea! I always have runners left over as well as a lighter handy and I was inspired by this video to make 4 of these in one day for my HG collection. here are my notes:
- white plastic melts and bonds the best despite the visible burn marks
- superglue is generally most effective to stick the stand support on for dark plastic
- anything heavier than HG or a heavy HG with a big backpack might need extra supports on either side so it doesn’t wobble too much
Thanks for this awesome video! I generally don't have a big budget for getting gunpla, and I prefer to spend what little money I have on the model kit itself. Now I can make good action base's without having to pay any extra fees.
Easily the most helpful video I’ve watched all year. Thank you for this!
Awesome video, was just thinking of buying a stand, this just saved me a couple of bucks and opened up some new creative ideaa!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I actually made a bunch of action stands using #14 solid copper wiring and some zip ties. I was very happy with the results, that I made one for every Gunpla I and my nephew had. and not just gunpla, I also made ones for my Figma and action figures too!! But I never imagined those pesky runners can be made into action stands... maybe I should experiment with them too!!!
Mind. Blown. Wonder how much work it would take to make this look real nice.
Man Bandai must hate you for spreading this
Also, damn it... I throw away all my runners when moving house
All my Runners are in their respective gunpla box, I knew they could have another use xP
@@luisfernandolucena20 never mind, I found 4 runners from the hg yeagers
Time to get another kit then 😆
@@luisfernandolucena20 same hahaha

I am so grateful this will save me a lot of money! Thanks 🤩🤩
This. Is. Freaking. Awesome. It's such a simple idea. I can't believe this never occurred to me before. Gonna have to dig up all of my stuff and make some stands tonight.
When I saw the notification I thought it will be the narrative gundam review.but thank for the tutorial anyway. Now I can make one for each gundam I have
This is such a awesome idea o.o thank you very much^^
I bet it would also look pretty good to use a piece of wood for the base and then some of the runners for the stand portion. Wood is also pretty easy to work with and paint compared to plastic.
Thanks for giving me a new hope especially in the middle of this freaking deadly month without money! Well really are middle
been doing this for a while.
thos its good to see the rest of the gundam world finding out about this great idea
This is truly the pikey gunpla action base
And I love it
Thanks man this help me allot I was wondering how to get a stand for my mg gundam because I don't have the money to get one at the time but this vid of yours help so thanks allot my mind was 🤯
and the other guy ... making phonecase from leftover runners...~
This helped so so much! Thank you!
Plastic cement/super glue can help reinforce it too since it melts/fuse the platic together
And 100% use the reinforcement arm MG uses here, that support makes everything more stable
Thank you I needed this!!
Amazing video I wish I had runners to use
This is such a fantastic idea…wow!!
Thank goodness I kept all my runners 👍
If you cut foam you can build it over the runner and just leave the "Stand bar" exposed while providing some background to your gunpla :)
Well I've tried this and wow love it works really well
So, I'm not the only one who use Runner as actionbase ? Lol
Nope, you are not...
Not anymore
If you're concerned about color, you can always paint it after the mod...
Also, a basin of cold water can help set it quicker. I would be lazy and just snip the post off, and glue it back on.
Was really disappointed when the Narrative Gundam C packs didn't include stand. Thanks for the tutorial, really needed this.
This is actually clever!
My thanks can't express of how greatful I am
saw it this morning and knew this video was coming
So very cool! Thank you!!
Awesome! Thank you!
5:19 “is he playing music over his pda system”
thanks for the Idea helped me a lot :D
I imagine if you want to make several of these at once then something like a tealight would be better than having to fiddle with the lighter. That way you could also use both hands to gauge how soft the plastic is getting.
Bandai should make an official implementation on this on their runners. LIke every gundam kit, there is at least one runner you can convert into an action base (minus using lighter would be great). So there is at least one runner designed to be a base, you just cut off this and that side, use this side for the stem or support, this part for the adapter or something and then snap them together. The aesthetic of runner as a base is cool gimmick and a lost opportunity for this hobby.
Jers N that defeatd their purpose of making action bade stands
Bandai could, but Bandai won't. You know, money.
then they charge more acting like they ment to do it
"Your nippers or any cutting tool you used to cut your gunplas"
Me who uses my nails: *"FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"*
My God...this is beautiful
I ironically bought a 3d printed base today, it looks awesome but I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS VIDEO BEFORE.
GENIUS!!🤩
There is no hole on my gundam for me so i can't do it I press F for me
Thank you for everything dude
This is genius!!!!
I love it
Planning to make those runners as background
You might be the mos GENIUS MAN IVE EVER MEET!!!!!
Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks for the tutorial- finally I don’t have to use the same stand on all of my HGs
Thank you for sourcing the Reddit post.
Thank you for the advice
Awesome tip!!
OMG THIS IS AWESOME! THANKS A MILLION 😆😆😆
Huge fan of this channel! Was there ever a revue of the shin musha 1/100? Ive been looking but cant find one. Thinking about picking one up!
Hi I'm from Philippines and I love more gunpla's thank you for another tip sir
Hobo’s Guide to Gundam. Love it.
Thank you Soo much I did it but used matches instead but it is so worth it😀
Ingenious!
That’s really smart and cool
Good thing i keep all the runners i knew they had some good use
Hey Mecha! Could you do a tutorial on how to make DiY gundam weapons using leftover sprues!? So of them are in perfect shapes to make staves/ halberds/ spears/ and if glued together could make cannons and bazookas!
absolutely ingenius
Brilliant!!
Nice, i still have the runners from the hg psycho gundam
I’ve been doing something like this for a few years, but I never had that ability to post it, I instead used hot glue or my gundam cement glue to put the pieces together. The way you showed is way easier though 😂
Made my day😊
I love the chiptune wing music!
Lol I have tried this for a long time but then I switched to a board game style base without plastic I feel it looks and works better for the extra amount of work
Thank you for sharing this idea on youtube
And thanks to the guy who you got this idea from
I was about to buy a base for my first gunpla
But rn i dont need to lol
that is one amazing thing!
Oh my God..., Thanks mecha
I remember seeing that one post on reddit, LOL
I didn't notice the DIY base at all though
i've held onto every runner from like nearly 40 models.. i have a big box full of them xD i had planned to use them for customization at some point or learn how to do plastic smelting.. but this action base idea might be a interesting idea until i get my own action bases.. i basically have 1 of each of the action bases and have thought maybe figuring out a way to clone them through silicone moulds and using resin to make them
Absolute genius
6:07 that runner piece is literally on fire.
as a custom gunpla builder i also use runners to make custom guns/swords so i wont buy some accesories at the toy stores
also i also come to my cousin to get some leftover runners and weapons/parts from my cousin
I use plastic cement, apply both part that needs attaching, stick together hold for about 30/60 seconds. Might takes 24 hours to fully hardened but, its as if its become one with another.
Finally , thank you
That's a great idea.
Nice! I have a reason for keeping those hundreds of runners now XD
Life hack. Also this is an amazing idea
Mecha gaikotsu tutorial is always the best tutorial for me😁.. etc; lazy way to panel lining
thx for helping me out
