Have been Italy 10x, just got back from first trip to Sicily and Reggio Calabria(across bay) Catania was the most amazing place we have ever been. Medieval streets in the shadow of Mt Etna, daily large outdoor market, strawberries the size of baseballs, pizza for 8 euro and many amazing churches/history. B&B Al Quadrato d Oro on edge of main square for 70 euro night. Highly recommend.

Since my first vacation in Sicily when I was 14, I have been crazy, madly, deeply in love with the cities: Giardini Naxos and Taormina. Me and my fellow travellers had met two young boys and two policemen, which was so gently. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves with the boys, I can still remember how goodlooking Nino was with his emeraldgreen eyes and tall, muscular body. The policemen had fun with my friends mother and her female friend. Together with the policemen, the four of us were sailing, swimming next to a cave in the deep blue water. With Nino and his friend, my female friend and I went to the beach, laid in the sand, talked, listened to music. One evening, Nino and his friend came to our apartement, asked if they two boys could take us for a ride on their scooters. That evening, I still remember, just as clear, as I can rememeber the last minutes, I spend with Nino before I entered the bus, and drove to Catania Airport to fly back to Copenhagen. That was in 1978, and in 2007, my husband and I were in Giardini Naxos. He know about the vacation in 1978, and was very empatic, when I became overwhelmed by my memories, when we flew over the Alpes. 20. of July, we are returning to celebrate our 20. anniversary - so romantic!

We had a fantastic holiday in Sicily. A couple big items you missed in your video. Cannoli. OMG Palermo is absolutely known for the best Cannoli. Also when in Catania, take a run to Taormina. Stunning history and views. Then stop at Savoca if you ever send the Godfather. Famous scenes shot there.
