This episode cemented Phinks as my favourite Phantom Troupe Member. Just such a surprisingly well-meaning guy but you couldn't tell from his words, only his actions. He waits for Bonolenov to finish and checks in on Shizuku when she comes. He waits for Kalluto and picks them up to carry them after. He gives Shizuku so she's not going around hin her underwear. The one time he does expose how he feels he's mocked and tries to cover it up with violenece.
Just a cool character
He's an enhancer after all, and most if not all enhancers we've met have been good guys underneath, even if they sometimes shield it under a lot of posturing. Phinks is very similar to Uvo in that regard: loves the Troupe and cares deeply for them, the only difference is that he is more quiet and partly because he tries not to wear his emotions on his sleeves, he is teased for it. So yeah, if it wasn't clear: I 100% agree with you and Phinks is a dope ass character!
I wish Togashi makes girls being attracted to his « caring side », and him being shy about it. But I don’t know if it fits with his plans for the troupe.
Bonolenov is my favorite spider because he's the closest we got of a Brazilian in HxH. Togashi was clearly inspired by the folk legend of the Uakti. It is a mythical musician described by the Tucano people of the Amazon. It's a man with holes in his body such that they would produce sound when he ran or the wind blew through him. This music seduced the women of the tribe and so the other men burned and buried his body. The myth holds that out of Uakti's remains grew the palm trees from which the Tucanos' flutes are made. The women of the Tucano people are thus not allowed to play flutes.
You can see the clear inspirations. Only the Gyudondond males have their bodies punctured and their melody is incredibly beautiful. So yeah, Togashi is an awesome writer.

also there is the fact that magical beasts are like an actual thing in hunter x hunter so what would the common people think when 1 of these supposedly super vicious man eaters came in and peacefully did an interview I would assume that was some magical beast bsing to get that fam and fear

funny things about feitan: when he gets pissed off he effectively starts speaking his own made up language, also his nen abillity directly corelates to the amount of damage received... the greater the damage the stronger the output... regardless of which he gains his red-white cloak that nullifies all heat produced during the abillity itself. so while he can just pop it, become fireproof and keep wailing at you, he just stands there, menacingly while you can literally do nothing but burn everywhere...
Pretty sure that Kalluto Zoldyk is a boy and identifies as one. His clothing choice is what it is because his mom really wanted a girl, so after only having boys, just started to dress him as one.
I'm fairly certain that this is not confirmed. About the clothing style being based on the mother because she wanted a daughter I mean, I believe Kalluto was confirmed a boy, but I just always assumed he dressed like that because he wants to and/or because he wants to appease his mother, not because he is outright forced to. If he was forced to, why would she allow Kalluto to dress up in regular clothers (sweater and pants) in their family portrait?
@@RockinAfr0 First, you're probably right, as I haven't re-read hunter in a while.
Second, I didn't intend to say that he is forced to dress like that now. I assumed that he was dressed like that by his mom when he was a kid and now just likes this style of clothing. But yeah, I probbaly mixed my interpretations and headcanon with actual canon.
I always thought it was because he was envious of the attention Killua gave to Alluaka.
Thought I have heard the mother story before.
But yeah, while there is(/was) no official cannon for Alluka (just a lot of people furiously editing and re-editing wikis), I think Kalluto was confirmed.

Phinks is deceptively sweet. Giving Pakunoda's thanks to Gon and Killua, saving Kalluto, and giving his robe to Shizuku. The Phantom Troupe is very human despite their history. It's what makes them so compelling.
Zazan's transformation is so powerful because it came at the expense of her never being able to be a "Queen" again (ripping off her tail). She sacrificed what mattered most to her to obtain an incredible power increase.
True, though I think there was also a narrative angle with it emphasizing that he was never a true queen.
He just wanted to be on top of the matriarchy.

Killua‘s brother Kalluto has now learned that he needs to keep up.
38:01 The tour guide in the Zoldyck arc did tell the tourists that there are five sons.
It's implied that Kalluto joined the Troupe to get Killua back, which makes sense given that we know Killua the best. BUT there is a popular fan theory that Feitan is actually the sibling that Kalluto is refering to which makes sense given his immense skill with nen, assassination and torture and certain behaviour quirks that Feitan shows, like his smirk when he teases Phinks. Just thought you'd want to be aware of this fan theory, in case no one told you yet :)
Well that's a crack theory if I ever heard one. We know Feitan was a Meteor City (non?)resident since early childhood and we know quite a bit about the Zoldyck family tree. Feitan also does not at all fit into the Zoldyck siblings naming convention. You're suggesting that Silva and Kikyo had a child, probably before Illumi, they practically erased for some odd reason by abandoning him at MC, and now are not only aware of him, but want him back? That does not sound like something Togashi would write.
Doesn’t explain why his native language is a Chinese derivative. He also never uses assassination techniques like the fingernails thing or rhythm echos in the manga. It’s Franklin who kills the guy feitan decapitates in the show, and what people say is feitan using rhythm echos is actually his blurred after images which look nothing like rhythm echos (which looks like you actually split into multiple copies)

Always thought it was strange that Silva didn't teach Killua about nen, despite him being the golden child of the family, but taught the rest of the family about it, including his younger brother, as we see here with his weird paper ability.
Things were getting a little fucked up in the last few episodes.
Thankfully Togashi gave us a nice relaxing break in the form of getting to see the Phantom Troupe utterly dominating a group of the more disgusting chimera ants for a few episodes.

I love the characterisation for Phinx in this episode and how he gives Shizuka his robe to wear at the end. Also in the manga Feitan has this goofy grin on his face as he runs from Phinx that you can see if you pause on the right frame. I really love the Phantom Troupe.

This episode fueled the flame of the theory that Feitan is a Zoldyck, this is because of the choice to use the zoldyck's music for him and because Kaluto says their in the troupe to "get my brother back"

It's a little stupid to ask the giant lion man but to give the lady some credit, a giant lion man really isn't that far fetched especially with how uninformed the general public is. I take that question more as "Can you prove you're A. an ant B. You came from NGL, and C. There are Kings invading everywhere after the birth of the true King". We don't see the interview to know exactly what Leol claims but an implied issue is just how far fetched the story sounds to non-hunters, he's a lion man claiming he's actually a pseudo-king-bug-man from the continent with no internet access, also he's taking over but agreed to be on TV. If that happened today IRL most people would be a little suspicious and there's not even shape shifting dog people nor Nen in our world.
Early HxH: Conjurers need to be familiar with what rhey conjure. They have to hold it, know their taste, touch and appreciate them.

Kalluto is younger than Killua and is still so great with his nen and capable enough to join spiders, he might be more talented than Killua
Not more talented, as in one of the first episodes, it's been explained Killua is the most talented in the family. But he probably was trained since he was way younger, and unlike Killua, he actually paid attention

@@nikgokuhil i didn't say that. The Zoldycks never taught Killua about nen because he was way too rebellious, and giving him that kind of training during his rebellious years, would be disadvantageous for his overall training as the future head.
So it's highly possible that normally, they teach the concept of nen way earlier than Killua

So just to be clear otherwise this is going to be confusing in future episodes. Togashi likes playing with transgender characters in his animes. There are no female soldier ants. Which is probably why our queen here developed this nen ability. Kalluto is often confused as a girl even though he is a boy. The Zoldycks also have one character who identifies as a girl, (you haven't met them yet. You will.)
