Upcoming Funnyplaying FPGBC is the start to a wallet friendly option in the original shells. I’ll probably pick up a couple of those as well and hope they make a gba version soon after.

I think this is it! However, it seems like you still have to put it together yourself, and you might need to take apart your original GBC to get the logic board. If your comfortable doing that, it seems like a good option!

I mean, I’m sure there are people like that, but I play mine ALL the time. I’ve been using it everyday and have caught up on a few GBA games. I don’t really mind if it gets scuffed up as I think it’s meant to be used. But to each their own.
Question. Some people say that if the cartridge in the pocket even gets moved a tiny bit the game will stop. Will the games just stop if you even so much as tap the cartridge while its in the pocket?
I personally haven’t had that particular issue, but I’ve heard about it before. It’s definitely less of something you have to worry about with Game Boy and Game Boy advance. I’m not too sure about maybe the Sega handheld games
@@monish_corona interesting. Either the company fixed the issue or it's people's own cartridges that are the problem cause they are pretty old.
You can tap the games just fine, but if they do move the game wil stop, just like on original hardware.
@@JustinShapley well that's good to know. It would suck after playing a few hours of Pokemon or finally beating a hard boss in Mega Man Zero and just all of a sudden game stops because you tapped the cartridge.
My copy of pokemon Yellow sucks in the analogue pocket. Barley tap it, and the game freezes. But every other game I have, you can tap it all day long, and nothing happens.
I think it has to do with the condition of the cart.

It’s really an amazing game, one of the most underrated JRPG’s ever. I’d give it a shot if you are a fan of that era of JRPG’s!
Theyre cool just so expensive for a device geared towards 30-40 yr old games.
Yeah, it’s definitely not for everyone. I’m 27 and even though I think it’s cool, I have to admit, it’s really pricey.
Especially considering how much cheaper the alternatives are.
Its not emulation 9n these low end systems just isn't worth it to me and I've never had any issues with emulators deleting saves or something.
@@clydefrosch I agree. I think I kind of want to make a separate video on portable emulators because while there are some issues with them, I think they are still an amazing option for most people. I have a couple myself and I really enjoy the build quality of them. I just enjoy aspects of the pocket a lot and I actually have had issues with saving data (Specifically on the GBA mainline Pokémon titles) on that portable emulator I have.

While I agree it seems like a poor business decision to not continue taking preorders for all of their products across the board. I got two of them myself. Besides the year wait it wasn’t a terrible experience. In the meantime I just built/bought 7 custom gameboys that do the exact same thing 😂
