I love intermittent fasting and have been eating mostly OMAD since June 2020. Even though OMAD is my standard, I love being flexible in my schedule and will at times have variations to keep things interesting. I have lost weight, got into a healthy weight range for my height and maintained the weight loss for over 3 years! I love to share the flexibility and peace offered through intermittent fasting.

Sister and I had an amazing 450 calorie dinner last night that could be made for a family and the Omad-er could be satisfied. She made manicotti (3 shells 180 calories) stuffed with string cheese sticks (3 sticks 210 calories) and we used home canned spaghetti sauce. (60 calories per serving of 3 shells). It was a plate full, tasted wonderful and I couldn't eat any more in my eating window.

Thank you for another 500 cal down day video!! I love these! I really have a hard time mentally going without any food for a whole day, so the modified version works great for me ❤. Also I kind of like the challenge of seeing how much food I can eat for 500 cal!

I have never thought about using those snacks as a salad topping. Great idea!

You are so creative! I love new ideas for variety in my down days, instead of just variations on a green salad. You rock, Jackie! More of these, please! ❤

Thank you for all the ideas! I really need to add in one or two down days a week to see if the scale will start moving again :)

No Aldis here! 😢 But I’m sure I can figure something out. Just started up AF after 3 months off, and having a 500 calorie meal on a down day sounds like a good way to mix things up.

Hi Jackie, i just found your channel. i have been doing a pretty strick OMAD daily for almost 4 years. I eat one meal of between 1500- 1900 calories everyday. i open my window, eat then close it until the next day. what is the purpose of doing a down day of 500 calories and then going back to 20:4 or OMAD the next day? it seems like you are are combining two different styles of fasting. why wouldnt you just keep your calorie intake about level every day? is it for calorie reduction so that you can eat more the next day? thanks!

I have a question for you. I’ve been doing this fasting thing for months now, and I walk an hour at lunchtime. Since last week, I have very little energy. I took a break for four days from walking, and I felt a little bit better. I went walking yesterday, and I slept almost 12 hours last night. I’m exhausted again. Do you have times like this where you have no energy for several days in a row?

I get it. I really do. Especially during the
“loss” phase. However, I truly believe that only 500 calories a day, even on a down day, is really low. How would you feel about a down day being at least 800 calorie days. The adult brain alone uses at least 400 calories in 24 hours.

I think that 800 calories is still a deficit. I feel good AND have great results with the 500 calories. It's also how I learned to do the modified ADF. The great thing is, I am metabolically flexible at this point. My body knows where to get energy from when it's not food.
