It's DC's Guardians of the Galaxy. That film was offbeat with a new world created and stunning visuals but it didn't reinvent the superhero genre. Same with Aquaman. Guardians is one of my most beloved films and I loved Aquaman.
It was a weird blend of “Journey to the centre of the Earth”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “How to Train your Dragons”, “The little Mermaid”, “Star Wars” and a really colourful FPS game.
Just saw it. Loved it. A perfect superhero film. Did everything it needed to do. GORGEOUS to look at and just so much fun. Everything I love about superhero films.
All I’ve got to say is that I want more Orm/Oceanmaster. This movie was a dream. I want another (but with fewer pop songs and less of the dialogue and exposition they gave to Mera)!

Took my nephew to see Aquaman today (UK) loved it my favorite DC movie by far and up there with many of my favorite superhero movies of all time and no not just Marvel ones.
The "I wish it wasn't in the trailer" segment really bug me. I now it's hard not to whatch them for a reaction channel but guys, If you REALLY don't wan't to be spoil. Just don't watch all three or four trailer. Just the first and you'r good to go. Especially Eric and Aarron who don't watch the trailers for the TV shows despite a demand from the subscribers. This part out of the way. I still love to hear you talk about the movie. It's always a pleasure to see you like those end focus on the good side. Thank you!

One of Superman's powers is invulnerability. The others are just super strong and durable. That's why it bothers them but Supes is all smiles while being shot at.
Loved this movie. Loved the entire cast. Just wanna say, Justice League Throne of Atlantis portrayed a fantastic Aquaman & Orm rivalry and just wanna point out Sam Witwer provided Orm's voice and thought he would have been a great choice as well as Ocean Master in the DC Universe
Just saw it today, the cinematography is beautiful, it's a gorgeous film but it was still kinda meh for me. I agree with Rick that the Amber Heard casting was a poor choice. Marvel is kicking DC's ass when it comes to a rollicking good superhero movie, but I do admit any excuse to look at Jason Momoa for 2 hours is totally ok by me. He'll still always be Khal Drogo to me though❤❤

Every movie has different impacts on different people. There are going to be people who LOVE Aquaman (you), there are going to be people who really liked Aquaman (me), and there are going to be people who don't like it. You've just gotta have tough skin when people don't like a movie that you do, or vice-versa. At the end of the day, it's just a movie. Just don't become like the Star Wars fanbase and verbally attack actors and directors because you didn't like their movie.

I’m a AMC - A-list member. I saw it in I-Max tonight. I’m going to go see again in 3D I-Max on Saturday. I enjoy this movie three times it gets my money. Finally he has maded from super friends to a great movie. One of my best movie of 2018. I’m enjoy comic book movie. It don’t matter if it it’s D.C or marvel. I’m on board for theses movie. I hope these guys do a review for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sometime in the next couple weeks. I know they've been busy trying to crank out reactions while they're on their Christmas break, but hopefully after the Christmas break, they do a Spider-Verse review/spoiler talk. It's probably the best superhero movie of the year, and Infinity War, Black Panther, Incredibles 2, Deadpool 2, Aquaman, and Ant-Man & The Wasp all came out this year.
Tbh, and I say this as a ride-or-die Batman fan, they need to bench Batman and Supes for a few years. I'm burnt out on them. Aquaman and Wonder Woman were a breath of fresh air. I say stick with stand-alone movies and maybe only do minor crossover films for a bit. You've got Arthur and Diana, do a Mediterranean mythology crossover after Aquaman 2 and Wonder Woman 1984. If they're feeling ambitious, weave in Shazam and Black Adam. Maybe introduce Hawkgirl. Fuck it, just nail the world building and make fun adventure movies. We don't need the Justice League to showcase characters who've never had standalone films. Marvel has proved this several times over.
Aquaman is what the DCEU should of been from the start (I loved Wonder Woman) only Batman has to be dark & gloomy. It's colourful, fun & had serious moments, the fight scenes are great & Black Manta is exactly what I wanted a bad but can someone tell cause I'm basing most of my knowledge on Young Justice but isn't Manta from a sea race too? Cause that's the 1 thing that kinda disappointed me, it kills off Aqualad being a thing. I love how they move under water as it is just a swimming motion & Mera's power were done great hope they explore the different ways of Atlantis like Arcane & Warrior ways in the next film, loved the look of Atlantis too very Asgard in Thor but different. BTW did I mention Manta was a badass
Nop blackmanta is a human but in the young justice serie he was with an atlantean woman and got a child together and name kaldur(who becam aqualad and later the new aquaman in young justice season 3)but blackmanta had no idea he had a child

It wasn't an AMAZING movie, but it was entertaining and it had heart. Aquaman is my favourite DC hero, always has been. So seeing him FINALLY get a movie made me a little more welcoming of it and I was actually pretty choked up during it. Loved it, and although I prefer it when comic book characters are true to themselves in their movies, I don't care, Mamoa was awesome.
Gotta have to cool you down a little: Despite it has some great even epic lines, Aquaman's storyline still feels like three writers from three different worlds who didn't talk to each other enough, just came up with some good lines including 'king' and 'hero', then stitched them roughly together. Some lines even disconnected themselves just to jump from one topic to another. But still, the graphics and world building part is definitely worth the price. I did it on IMAX3D, choked both on the terrible story transition and the amazing Atlantis scenery.

@@raviodelorule Yes. The entire odyssey is about retrieving the trident, become king, and stop the war.There's no need for a "hero" phrase to appear here. The reason for its being bad, is that line came directly from the writers to the audience, rather than one character to another. This is a common mistake for writing, same as an actor accidentally looks into the camera instead of where he/she's supposed to look at. They actually made the same targeting mistake back at BVS, when batman made that Martha promise to Superman, whom he just beat and barely met, instead of his most loyal and trusted friend Alfred.
The scene where they were at the trench with those scavengers with that jumpscare reminded me that James Wan was the director. That scene was creepy. 😝

I found the movie had a lot of goofy parts when I don’t think it meant to be goofy. There were also weird incongruity issues like stuff kinda established in Justice League was changed for this movie. However, I did like the movie overall because it was fun. Some parts reminded me of the little mermaid and subnautica. Lol

This is honestly the first time I enjoyed a DC movie from the beginning to end since Dark Knight. The only real issue was how small of a role Black Manta got. Ocean Master never making it to the surface also gives good cover for why no Justice League in a post Stephenwolf world. I also saw his mother being alive as soon as I heard she was sacrificed to the Trench. She always dies on panel, so I couldn't buy her not dying on screen. This is the first DC movie where I have seen this story before, but I actually like this version better, unlike Wonder Woman where the animated movie and almost all of her comic origin stories blows the movie out of the water.

Aquaman and Wonder Woman were a breath of fresh air. I say stick with stand-alone movies and maybe only do minor crossover films for a bit. You've got Arthur and Diana, do a Mediterranean mythology crossover after Aquaman 2 and Wonder Woman 1984. If they're feeling ambitious, weave in Shazam and Black Adam. Maybe introduce Hawkgirl.
Fuck it, just nail the world building and make fun adventure movies. We don't need the Justice League to showcase characters who've never had standalone films. Marvel has proved this several times over.
Aquaman is what the DCEU should of been from the start (I loved Wonder Woman) only Batman has to be dark & gloomy. It's colourful, fun & had serious moments, the fight scenes are great & Black Manta is exactly what I wanted a bad but can someone tell cause I'm basing most of my knowledge on Young Justice but isn't Manta from a sea race too? Cause that's the 1 thing that kinda disappointed me, it kills off Aqualad being a thing. I love how they move under water as it is just a swimming motion & Mera's power were done great hope they explore the different ways of Atlantis like Arcane & Warrior ways in the next film, loved the look of Atlantis too very Asgard in Thor but different. BTW did I mention Manta was a badass
Nop blackmanta is a human but in the young justice serie he was with an atlantean woman and got a child together and name kaldur(who becam aqualad and later the new aquaman in young justice season 3)but blackmanta had no idea he had a child
black manta making that helment pissed me the hell off lmao. if i were those atlantean soldiers i would've been like "uh.... can we get a move on? like we dont have time to wait for you, just put on the armor, grab the gun and lets go" hahaha like what???

It wasn't an AMAZING movie, but it was entertaining and it had heart. Aquaman is my favourite DC hero, always has been. So seeing him FINALLY get a movie made me a little more welcoming of it and I was actually pretty choked up during it.
Loved it, and although I prefer it when comic book characters are true to themselves in their movies, I don't care, Mamoa was awesome.
Gotta have to cool you down a little: Despite it has some great even epic lines, Aquaman's storyline still feels like three writers from three different worlds who didn't talk to each other enough, just came up with some good lines including 'king' and 'hero', then stitched them roughly together. Some lines even disconnected themselves just to jump from one topic to another.
But still, the graphics and world building part is definitely worth the price. I did it on IMAX3D, choked both on the terrible story transition and the amazing Atlantis scenery.

Pony Infestation well she told arthur the legend as a baby, trusting he was the true king. And if he ends up in the same place, it means he is comimg for the trident to be the king/hero
@@raviodelorule Yes. The entire odyssey is about retrieving the trident, become king, and stop the war.There's no need for a "hero" phrase to appear here.
The reason for its being bad, is that line came directly from the writers to the audience, rather than one character to another. This is a common mistake for writing, same as an actor accidentally looks into the camera instead of where he/she's supposed to look at.
They actually made the same targeting mistake back at BVS, when batman made that Martha promise to Superman, whom he just beat and barely met, instead of his most loyal and trusted friend Alfred.
My abiding memory is literally the first shot. The dad is proping the window shutters OPEN IN A STORM! What's up with that?
The scene where they were at the trench with those scavengers with that jumpscare reminded me that James Wan was the director. That scene was creepy. 😝

I found the movie had a lot of goofy parts when I don’t think it meant to be goofy. There were also weird incongruity issues like stuff kinda established in Justice League was changed for this movie. However, I did like the movie overall because it was fun. Some parts reminded me of the little mermaid and subnautica. Lol

This is honestly the first time I enjoyed a DC movie from the beginning to end since Dark Knight. The only real issue was how small of a role Black Manta got. Ocean Master never making it to the surface also gives good cover for why no Justice League in a post Stephenwolf world. I also saw his mother being alive as soon as I heard she was sacrificed to the Trench. She always dies on panel, so I couldn't buy her not dying on screen.
This is the first DC movie where I have seen this story before, but I actually like this version better, unlike Wonder Woman where the animated movie and almost all of her comic origin stories blows the movie out of the water.
Blackmanta was badass and he is gonna be the next villain for the sequel and I have a feeling that he is going to kill aquaman parents in the sequel
