I remember during Kris Aquino interview with Barbie Hsu, she said "I am thankful to you because of you, Filipinos with chinky eyes are now considered beautiful in the Philippines". I actually had no idea about Korea before. I only knew China, Japan, and Taiwan until Abscbn Tagalized Lovers in Paris, I was hooked, and then I watched Jewel in the Palace and Jumong. Sam Oh being one of the first to have landed her own tv show called Rated Oh!(2005) and she's a seasoned newspaper columnist in manila times. She been working here for the longest time.

It also has to be noted that one of the reasons why she also got popular was east asian dramas were starting to get popular in the philippines particularly Meteor Garden. If you looked for her love team, her "partner" back then did resemble the shy, sensitive type of guy which was popular in east asian dramas back then. Then there will be a surge of korean nationals in the country as the philippines became an affordable option to those who wanted who wanted to study abroad and also learn english. It was the perfect moment for Sandara then. Years later she wanted to have a more mature image and even posed for a men's magazine (fhm i think or was it maxim) then she came back to her country and let's just say the rest is history.

Sam Oh being one of the first to have landed her own tv show called Rated Oh!(2005) and she's a seasoned newspaper columnist in manila times. She been working here for the longest time.
