FSG is far from perfect, however one of the many things that made the club special during the Klopp era was going toe-to-toe against an institution and what it stood for. I love our footballing integrity. We have the best owners and management team in world football, imo. I'd be shocked if FSG sold. They're a sporting enterprise and LFC is one of the company's prized assets. Furthermore, we're on the cusp of continuing our golden era. Edwards has also been brought in to expand the organisations footballing portfolio. I can't see it. I don't want to see it. Integrity is gold dust these days in any walk of life, and Liverpool FC have it in spades. YNWA
You also can’t compare other clubs and their owners to LFC. We’re not like other clubs. It’s exactly where “this means more” was born from, and other clubs struggle to understand it yet it makes perfect sense to LFC fans.
To me it'd be the values change and perception of the club that'd be a tough adjustment. There's a large part of my fan mind that takes pride in the idea of a non-state entity competing and succeeding at the top level
No matter what happens, FSG have been fantastic custodians of the club. Yes, they will eventually sell for a profit but they are quite entitled to. They’ve done the stadium, the training ground and brought a lot of success. As for Saudi involvement, I’m not sure how I feel honestly. I mean, everyone has some sort of skeleton in their closet and it’s not like Roman Catholic nuns or Green peace are going to buy and run the club. As Laurence says, it’s not like we really know all these investors. We think we do but we tend to misjudge a lot.
Simple counter question. Would it mean we can probably replace Mo Salah in 1-2 years with Vini Junior???? One thing about Man City is they are well run. Irrespective of HOW they justify the funds they are getting. Now say City wins the 115 charges, would I be against someone like the Saudi group buying us so that we can FINALLY have a level playing field with city??? Absolutely NOT! IF it benefits the club and the city as a whole (by investments and businesses), WHY THE HELL NOT!!!!
If this is true then my theory is one. FSG sell most of their stake to fund an NBA team or two sell a minority stake, and they'll become majority shareholders over time.
Winning under Saudis would mean so much less , the passionate is so hightened because it's us against city and there state ownership and all there financial doping.

If having Saudi or Gulf owners is such a windfall. Why then are Newcastle, Villa and any other teams owned by them not crushing the trophy grab year after year?? The only Arab owned team winning the English league are Man City, where corruption is running rampant. So, NO! Tell them to FO and let FSG continue the work they are doing.
Surely impossible given PIF’s majority stake in Newcastle FC? Either way, would break the heart but absolutely unacceptable from this Liverpool FC fan’s perspective
If FSG want to sell they will, and we all know the PL has not ethics division, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it, however the reality would be you would have to make a decision on spending you well earned cash on the club you love….
Friendly reminder that ownership or investors don’t care if they loose a few fans lol. New fans will come with a Saudi ownership. We are sponsored by a bank and an insurance company lol. We are also owned by an investment group who owns 3 teams lol. Football is a business first and a sport, second.
Don't care about the money. I didn't like it when Henderson went to Saudi Arabia because of the human rights issue there. I don't want Saudi Arabia now.
It's very simple Lawrence, we don't want an authoritarian government of a foreign nation owning our football club. So stop trying to overthink this, or make dumb equivalents with FSG or Red Bull and how they made their money. There is no equivalence here.

As frustrating as it is that seems like we miss out on player , and let some l players go over relatively small amounts of money ( in a footballing sense and we feel like we FSG should spend more , I feel like we’d become the very thing we hate .
The values of the owners dictates how a club operates and over time, changes the culture. Most fans cannot relate to Saudi culture and do not want to. It would be the beginning of the end for the club is they sold their soul for money.
Given the pushback on Hicks and Gillette got imagine what would happen if this was true. The likes of The Spirit of Shankley wouldnt leave a stone unturned to prevent it, and rightly so.
Considering the state of the world, and the way one country is able to single handedly hold back life saving means from reaching certain groups suffering from a certain mass event. I’d gladly take an owner from any country around the world that isn’t from the USA, if all that country does is suppression or splash around cash like spoiled children.
I don’t agree with our club being owned by the Saudi state. It betrays the city, in my opinion. However I’m only informed on Saudi Arabia through western media so truly I know nothing.
Look I don’t particularly like states owning football clubs, but what if the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund came and bought us? Now as far as the Saudi’s, they are far from innocent, but compared to other nations around they are not too bad. One thing people should be aware of is the massive changes that have happened in the country over the last 12 years. The country has massively changed and has become a bunch more liberal. It is worth a visit to Jeddah or Riyadh. I live in the GCC and visit Saudi regularly, my wife literally has just flown back to Abu Dhabi from Riyadh this afternoon. She has no concerns about the country. The one thing I would say is that I am not sure about the fit with LFC
The traditional pre-req for sports-washing is big city club with a fanbase starved of trophies. I don't think the PSR rules makes that go away. Taking a grab for Liverpool with their vocal, left-leaning and anti-establishment fans would create a PR nightmare for the wrong sort of owners 😳
I know it’s easy to say but I just don’t think I could be a fan anymore I’d probably just stop watching football altogether or find a non league team nearby
It's not happening, maybe with another Saudi group but not PIF! They are investing too much into the city and are planning a stadium expansion or build a new one. It's bull shit
Aston Villa are owned by Suarez from Egypt look up how he and his brothers have made their money over the years trust me it would make an interesting deep dive
Mind you global liverpool fans easily 100x population of Liverpool itself, including Everton & Tranmere fans.. If you push aside western media politics and biasness, I dont think its really that big of a deal.. Theres lots of political agendas in the world and a football club shouldn't really be overly involved with it. From a global fan, its a non issue.. Imagine if we had funds to keep and built upon alonso-mascherano-gerrard.. I definitely want to see liverpool go from strength to strength and i dont see any issue with it..
also i feel like the “less authentic” thing is of course valid, and of course there are the moral issues, but i think if it came to it and it went thru, it wouldn’t change anything about the club and if we have more resources to help the team then hey

😂😂😂😂😂 we want trophies not speeches, in one way or the other we will get the oil money 💪
@@ballackKalale-y9e the way in which you win matters, sir. It’s why no one takes city’s wins seriously, because it’s bought by oil money.
@@stellarnorth206 Roman Abramovich?
To me it'd be the values change and perception of the club that'd be a tough adjustment. There's a large part of my fan mind that takes pride in the idea of a non-state entity competing and succeeding at the top level
No don't want the oil tag like tinpot city 😂
No matter what happens, FSG have been fantastic custodians of the club. Yes, they will eventually sell for a profit but they are quite entitled to. They’ve done the stadium, the training ground and brought a lot of success.
As for Saudi involvement, I’m not sure how I feel honestly. I mean, everyone has some sort of skeleton in their closet and it’s not like Roman Catholic nuns or Green peace are going to buy and run the club.
As Laurence says, it’s not like we really know all these investors. We think we do but we tend to misjudge a lot.
I would stop supporting the club immediately
Lets see the results of the 115 trial and then we'll talk.
Would I love to dominate like City? Yes! Would I sell the integrity of our club in order to do so? Absolutely not!
If this is true then my theory is one. FSG sell most of their stake to fund an NBA team or two sell a minority stake, and they'll become majority shareholders over time.
Winning under Saudis would mean so much less , the passionate is so hightened because it's us against city and there state ownership and all there financial doping.
Say no to Sports washing.
Saudi ownership would be the end of my relationship with LFC.
that's life, so is the world .
Go do research the history of AXA & standard chartered, then say no to saudi, you people think FSG are saints, in one way or the other we will get the oil money 💪
Keep moving
See ya.
Great perspectives!
If FSG want to sell they will, and we all know the PL has not ethics division, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it, however the reality would be you would have to make a decision on spending you well earned cash on the club you love….
as a life long fan, will not bow to a king in any way. they can fo.
Friendly reminder that ownership or investors don’t care if they loose a few fans lol. New fans will come with a Saudi ownership. We are sponsored by a bank and an insurance company lol. We are also owned by an investment group who owns 3 teams lol. Football is a business first and a sport, second.
I like the financial discipline of fsg. However, I would want to see more investment in getting quality players and developing young players.
Sloooow content day huh Lawrence 🙃
Whats wrong with Oil money? Its a resource you all use every single day. Also since most of you dont know history about how evil the British Empire is the Saudi Kingdom and royal family where put in power by the British :)
Yep, done with football and Liverpool if this happens.
If SA buys Liverpool I'm done with the club. It wont matter at a macro level
Liverpool do not want to be an oil state owned club. We are happy with our lot in football and don’t want to see someone play real life football manager with our beloved club. Also it’s a conflict of interest with the whole Newcastle thing. YNWA
Well..that was "different." I'm not sure whataboutism, even ironic, suits you. Please enjoy your caffeinated drink and the rest of your day, Laurence!
Where is this story coming from?
No way
Love how bonkers this went! But for real, getting bought by Saudi Arabia would be a punch in the heart
Go do research the history of AXA & standard chartered, then say no to saudi, you people think FSG are saints, in one way or the other we will get the oil money 💪
@@ballackKalale-y9e yeah sponsorships are really rough across the board, I particularly hate all the gambling ones we take. Ownership like that feels like a step to far for me but I take your point 👍
Sell . Fed up with not being able to spend more then West Ham
I'm indifferent to it because if we look into the history of how some western billionaires earned or inherited their money we could find some dubious reason why probably dating back as far as a plantation owner 🤷🏿♂️
No. Absolutely not. Ideally I’d love the club to be owned by the fans.
Saudi might only invest with FSG not just in golf but all things sport
I don’t agree with our club being owned by the Saudi state. It betrays the city, in my opinion. However I’m only informed on Saudi Arabia through western media so truly I know nothing.
If man city don't get punished, this is the only way to compete
That would be the end for me. No more Liverpool, no more premier league. Hope this never happens.
Also, wheres the furniture gone in the background Lawrence ?
How could they buy Liverpool? They own Newcastle.
As a fan I would stop supporting them.
Yes I'd take them. But I think there is no substance to this rumour.
Nope don't want to ruin the clubs history prestige 😂
I know it’s easy to say but I just don’t think I could be a fan anymore I’d probably just stop watching football altogether or find a non league team nearby
slow news day Lawrence
It's not happening, maybe with another Saudi group but not PIF! They are investing too much into the city and are planning a stadium expansion or build a new one. It's bull shit
Aston Villa are owned by Suarez from Egypt look up how he and his brothers have made their money over the years trust me it would make an interesting deep dive
good video. Personally I'd stop supporting them.
Love the German 50 plus 1 rule !
It’s only a rumour,that’s all.
If it happens it happens won’t change my love of the club
I'll still love the club but I won't support them. Won't engage about them online, won't pay for television coverage, won't be a subscriber to lfctv.
@@pacanukeha That’s your choice, AXA and Standard Chartered have been involved in questionable things as well
Mind you global liverpool fans easily 100x population of Liverpool itself, including Everton & Tranmere fans..
Id beg to differ
Money can't buy me love
cheers loz
also i feel like the “less authentic” thing is of course valid, and of course there are the moral issues, but i think if it came to it and it went thru, it wouldn’t change anything about the club and if we have more resources to help the team then hey
Nope mate.
Sportswash Central..... It'd be the end for me.
I guess that the press would be more respectful. In fear
I'm not happy with that, btw
Yes I would take them if fsg not going two spend the cash every season
Haven't we heard all this before?
