FSG is far from perfect, however one of the many things that made the club special during the Klopp era was going toe-to-toe against an institution and what it stood for. I'd love nothing more than Liverpool to win every trophy, but there are things that are bigger than football. No nation should own a football club, it's wrong because their actions are a reflection of your club. If you can separate the two, be my guest, but it's not reality.

Also too, people forget how bad a club can be ran (look at Manchester United) FSG made Liverpool stable, profitable, very low debt. And upgraded many things.

I agree, fsg have done alot for our club and despite working on a tight budget it worked out best for us in long run but I do feel we always needed a bit more depth and maybe reason, Klopp fell out with them!
Klopp was mentally drained, how do you get 99 and 97 points and not win the league, injuries and fatigue was a big problem for us!
I still remember Sir Gerrard carrying us on his back with half an absolute shit team around him for so many years, being in relegation zone 2010 xmas time.
Love or hate fsg, its a business and if mancheater city didnt have a cheat code in under handed sponsorship deals then we and other teams would have won more YNWA 97❤!!!!

@toddjackson4706 So whats the solution FSG ? Have we not been embarrassed enough in the transfer market ? Zubimendi, Touchemeni, Bellingham, Caicedo, Lavia, Yoro.
Times are changing and the maths ain't mathing with these owners. Is letting our 3 best players contracts wind down to zero part of the grand plan ? No signings in the busiest season in history ? (New champs league format) Romanticism within the Prem and football is fading. we're the 5th richest club in the world and are outspent by Bournmouth.
Honestly, are you hoping Virg can carry on this season playing every minute ? It's a miracle Konate ain't injured yet ? Robbo still declining and a lcb system wise hasn't been put in place.
Arabs won't mean 'cheating' the prem won't allow that model again. But realise ffp rules relax next season and other owners are waiting in the wings to spend vast sums on Villa, Newcastle, Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal, City Everton (soon)

@@86Brasco you’re right either FSG spends more or they need to move on. The financials of the Prem have changed. Private equity or a new ownership group are options. Hopefully it’s not sold to a nation-state because of the reasons above.

Feel like if your only goal as a club is to win trophies...then yeah, grab the Saudi owners.
The thing is...I feel in love with LFC because it's not JUST about trophies. It's about a culture, a spirit within the club...and Saudi backing would destroy all that IMHO.

there is no such thing as an ethical billionaire, so whoever owns the controlling share of LFC is not going to be a saint. That being said, nation states owning premier league clubs is what I personally have a problem with. They have countless opportunities to make significantly more money by investing in other areas and industries, yet they choose sports (LIV Golf, ATP, and Newcastle) for one reason - sports-washing. They can also beef up their image in countless other ways too (green energy, providing humanitarian relief, medical aid) but they choose sports so they can have it both ways; win support and be profitable. It's soulless and it's desperate, and I'll be protesting too if this becomes more than rumours

100%. The US government is basically owned by billionaires, but when those same billionaires buy a team we don't call it sports-washing, so there's definitely something in that.
That said, I absolutely do not want to be a club that just spends silly money buying up loads of talent and lose the soul of the city. I'm not from Liverpool, but the working class/artsy nature of the city has always spoken to me.

People like to equate 'not wanting oil money' to not wanting arab owners for racist reasons - and that's personally not the case for me. I don't want state owners who are short-term happy to piss away cash to extract goodwill from fans in exchange for success on the pitch

I don’t not want Saudi owners, I just don’t want owners that plan on using us as a status symbol. We’re a special club, with special fans and a unique culture. FSG have been decent tenants of the club as they’ve tended to listen to fans and make changes if fans aren’t happy. They’re not perfect, but they still have shown an ability to listen, which is more than most club owners. We’re the wrong club to buy if you want to pump money in and use as a status symbol.

If having Saudi or Gulf owners is such a windfall. Why then are Newcastle, Villa and any other teams owned by them not crushing the trophy grab year after year??
The only Arab owned team winning the English league are Man City, where corruption is running rampant.
So, NO! Tell them to FO and let FSG continue the work they are doing.

Look I don’t particularly like states owning football clubs, but what if the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund came and bought us?
Now as far as the Saudi’s, they are far from innocent, but compared to other nations around they are not too bad. One thing people should be aware of is the massive changes that have happened in the country over the last 12 years. The country has massively changed and has become a bunch more liberal. It is worth a visit to Jeddah or Riyadh. I live in the GCC and visit Saudi regularly, my wife literally has just flown back to Abu Dhabi from Riyadh this afternoon. She has no concerns about the country.
The one thing I would say is that I am not sure about the fit with LFC
