If I thought that it would stand up to large hail, I would buy one, I doubt it would though by how thin the material is. Here in Alberta we get a lot of hail that damages cars.
If you do not mind the rain and Wind is your only concern you can cut small strips along the areas that are not so stretched so the wind has a pass thru, even add waterproof or duck tape to cuts to prevent tear runs. this works similar to construction vinyl banners with holes for wind.
