the Battalion is the first unit in my sigal chain for nearly three years now - I use it as a mild overdrive and to make things bit brighter and more crispy...its compresor is fine, also

This is a killer unit for the price. I find it really useful for getting a really great distorted tone. The pre/post/dry switch was brilliant. My only issues were the long release time on the gate and the decreased output volume with compression engaged. The latter can be resolved by tweaking the small gain pot inside. I like it enough that after having a drink spilled on it I sent it back to EHX to repair.

Awesome demo, jayme 😎🎸🤘🏻 I’ve bought this preamp a few months ago and it sounds phenomenal. I did wanted to purchase a preamp primarily for clean tones for ampless recording(especially since I own drive pedals I like), but the distortion channel sounds incredible. I do plan on experimenting with the distortion channel for new recordings. Other than that, this preamp sounds awesome. Both clean and distorted.

Any chance you could review the hartke lx8500? Pretty much all the reviews are melodic lines being played on active 5 strings, no classic basses or actual context within a mix whatsoever.
