Does it improve the dpad diagonals? Is it better for fighting games? The stock dpad is bad for fighting games and plaformers that require precise input. This is the only reason I'd do this mod, if it makes the dpad better like a psvita dpad. Its difficult to do Shoryuken and Hadokens in Street Fighter on the stock pad.
Just installed the Dpad and HOLY CRAP what an improvement. The stock Dpad is mushy creaky horse poo so this mod is a MUST for anyone that plays Dpad-centric titles. Can actually play Contra now! Gonna be loud for your partner if you're playing in bed but just tell them you can do hadoukens now and that should solve any relationship issues off the bat.
@@LaymanGaminLol no it is certainly not. It’s one of the worst dpads out there. It collapses when pushed down making diagonals and half circle turns needlessly hard. But hey, I’m sure you’re just using it for commands in CoD so I’m sure you’re set!😂
A truly excellent kit, the steam deck should come this way stock, its just that much better than the OEM resistive buttons and comes with everything you need minus a heat gun. If the kit replaced the OEM bumper assemblies with ones that housed an integrated PCB instead of the adhesive backed ribbon PCB it'd be even better, but this is definitely good enough.

Excelente, instalei este Clicky Kit porque o meu antigo D'Pad (original) estava com alguns problemas a registar o toque, mas com este kit além de me ter resolvido esse problema, também acrescentou o feedback Clicky, fantástico
I really wish you guys just included the bracket the button goes on. Like come on you make L and R replacements now this like why is there no bracket. I feel like most of us would be happy to pay the extra to have the bracket so we dont have to mess with the original assembly other then removing the L and R buttons.
I damaged the shoulder button mechanism somehow when I put it back together. The installation video didn't warn about it 😢 - and/or perhaps a small piece deformed slightly when I heated up the adhesive with my hot air blower.
Took me 2 hours and 30m to install, had many road blocks, like my ayxb button assembly did not want to detach from the case, had to force it out. Also it would help if the pcb flex cables had the withe line , like the stock ones do, i re assembled my steam deck, to just try my d pad and it was not working, had to disassemble again, push the connector in more, and then it worked, there is really no indication the connector is seated were it needs to be, without those white lines. other than that amazing buttons.

@@ayaanpluhh you're not dumb. Hall effect sticks are a type of joystick module you can purchase and replace your old sticks with. They are electromagnetic- they never drift. You can find them online.
Can someone tell me objectively if there is any real improvement by installing this set? The stock buttons tend to stick and feel extremely tacky, while the D-pad feels very tacky and tends to absorb a lot of finger force making the touch feel weird. For all the above and being objective, is there any real improvement in the D-Pad and the Y, X, B, A buttons? By the way, I don't mind the clicky sound at all, I just want to know if it improves the experience overall.
I think all in all it's sort of as good as without the clickyness. The micro-switches used are a bit too firm (the default membrane solution is too, though) and when I press Left it very often activates Up too for some reason. I really like the haptic feedback but my thumb gets tired/soar and the false Up activations mess up my games - especially Tetris.
I ended up undoing the install. The dpad feels mushy before the click, and the amount of force needed is too fatiguing after about 15 mins of use. My ideal dpad is the one on the Xbox controller. This is a good attempt and many people will like it, but it’s not for me.
I've solved the false Up inputs by squeezing down a hard small rubber piece above edge of the upwards piece of the D-pad. Now it's reliable but still too firm. I hope it gets less firm over time.
Just installed these last night, but now my A button and Start don't work :/ Also, my kit didnt come with insulation tape Update: I got the face buttons to work, the ribbon cable wasn't seated properly. It's hard to tell without a guideline, so make sure you've got your cable pushed in all the way
I forgot to install the cushion sheet for the buttons/dpad, are they necessary? I'd hate to disassemble it again, but if it's optional I can live with that.

I would say similarly clicky than elite. Like i think the switches here are physically smaller than the ones on elite but otherwise they're comparable. Kinda sharper i guess. Less the relatively gummy feel of the stock membrane on the deck Id say most comparable to the joystick button on the deck

Please consider a dome-switch alternative - like on PSVita. The micro-switches you use now are too firm and stiff I think.

They feel very good but beware that they are really uncomfortable while playing for a longer time.

Attached shoulder buttons/triggers springs have different characteristics than stock and provide different feedback(feeling) or are they just spares?

You will have better clicky feedback if you install the sheet. Also it will prolong the life of the rubber pads.

Yes you can, install the clicky kit first, and then the LED kit and then the back buttons kit.
