Excellent as always, I can’t wait to see how the static model will turn out. I’m currently modeling a steam locomotive that i plan to print and build. It’s a scaled down model of a 1:12 live steam locomotive
Riekus, that is gonna look fantastic. To be very honest, if you never pointed these things out, I would be ignorant about it. You do make me wonder though, those scale flanged wheels - if there were a model using them that ran, no doubt they would need fine-scale track or something?
Nah, there is no way you can run a scale flange. They are 1mm and because we have tighter radii than in real life, we have a lot riding on the flange. It will just push over. Minimum we can run is 2mm.
You can't compare a working model to a static model. The compromises are just a necessary fact unfortunately. But I think you hide them damn well on the working one! This static one however is just going to be your wet dream! Keep going, your work is stunning.
