Shane has removed his entire 4wd Mazda 323 familia's chassis and replaced it with a dx Corolla (the entire floor pan) Probably hundreds of hours work to make a worlds first👍now it braps.

My brother had his 323 gtx sedan converted to a 13bpp. Build was complete just needed paint and put insodes back together, but he lost interest in it and sold it to my kuzz.

@@misfirerotary it sounded tuff as, cars in storage atm collecting dust. My kuzz finished off the insides, 2 bucket seats in the rear.
Stu Lawton did that back in the 2000s but it was fwd a 12a with a custom plate between fwd gbox and motor

I had a Mazda 323 4wd turbo back in 91 it was 88 model i bought from a dealer that was very limited numbers in Australia. I kicked so many vehicles with more hp,litres and power at the time with this 1.6 turbo charged engine....i wanted a 13B Turbo fitted instead of the original engine but no one could fit a rotary engine left to right into the engine bay. If it was possible all hell would of broke loose.....

someone did a east/west 12a in a honda civic.. so anything is possible.
It's been done east to west in a 90' gtx with a 13b turbo 4wd, also been done in a bf 323 sedan fwd in NZ. There was also a red gtr familia with 13b bridgey in it, was common to see it rippin skids.
I had a 87' 323 wagon with the full running gear from a 86 323 bfmr and the complete dohc turbo front end also painted the turbo white/grey two tone, miss that car..
Building an 86' bfmr in Melbourne atmo, thing will rip😉

Yeah James Lawton had the orange fwd rotor wagon(R.I.P.) Then Stuart Lawton build the light green Mazda familia sedan ( rwd 13bpp ) eventually ended up 20bpp an tubbed then unfortunately got scrapped...was legendary back in the days, twin idas sticking out the bonnet , used to go to the 4 n rotor nationals during the day then trailer it to the illegal drags at night an let loose on the streets

@@misfirerotary Well, kind of lol.. That one he mentioned, the 323 with skyline subframes was built by an aircraft engineer. That was running a built gtr engine and was a work of art underneath, chassis rails were laser cut, folded and pick up points incorporated to fit original floor and nissan parts bolted straight in..
I was going to buy it when it come up for sale as a rolling chassis then bring it over to Aussie as a "race car", repower it then plate and tag it🤫🤣🤣..
I missed out though, some lucky cu nt got it first..
This thing is rear wheel drive man, not 4wd unless its changed setups since.

@@misfirerotary that in itself is a rare chassis then, most of them are fwd. The usual swap is bf or bg gtx conversion to a 1.8lt 4wd. I commented before the video launched. Loved this car since i first saw it as im a big bf/bg chassis guy and wanted to do this for ages.
