Dwayne Johnson stars as the voice of Krypto the Super-Dog in Warner Bros. Pictures’ animated action adventure feature film “DC League of Super-Pets,” from director Jared Stern.
The film also stars the voices of Kevin Hart (the “Jumanji” and “Secret Life of Pets” films), Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live,” the “Magic School Bus Rides Again” films, “Ferdinand”), John Krasinski (the “Quiet Place” films, “Free Guy”), Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Live,” “Office Christmas Party,” “Trainwreck”), Natasha Lyonne (“Show Dogs,” “Ballmastrz 9009”), Diego Luna (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Maya and the Three”), Marc Maron (“Joker,” “GLOW”), Thomas Middleditch (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie”), Ben Schwartz (“Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Duck Tales”), and Keanu Reeves (the “Matrix” and “John Wick” films).
In “DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack-Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel-to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the Super Heroes.
Stern, a veteran writer/consultant on the “LEGO®” movies, makes his animated feature film directorial debut, directing from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator John Whittington, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Patricia Hicks, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Jared Stern. The executive producers are John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Nicholas Stoller, Allison Abbate, Chris Leahy, Sharon Taylor and Courtenay Valenti.
Stern’s creative team includes production designer Kim Taylor (“The LEGO® Ninjago Movie”) and editors David Egan (“Game Night,” “Vacation”) and Jhoanne Reyes (“Teen Titans GO!” “Young Justice”). The music is by Steve Jablonsky (the “Transformers” films).

Why isn't there a new Superman movie? The world's most popular superhero. Henry Cavill is a great Superman.
Because last Superman movie bombed with critics and it had a mid box office. It's just pure logic putting the IP to sleep for a while before bringing it back. The vast majority of the people who cry over a sequel are the Snyder fans, but Superman fans that aren't into the Snyder formula are happy with the Superman and Lois show because it's a more accurate representation.

This looks like a fun time! I don't _hate_ the darker superhero movies, but I'm always down for a DC movie that embraces the silliness of superhero stuff and just lets it be goofy. I can't wait to see Krypto and his new team on the big screen!

After this, Warner Bros. should fund an actual DC cinematic animated movie. Sony did it and Into the Spider-Verse was such a nice surprise. WB, you have some of the best animators out there. It has potential. Don't do another children's movie because of petty marketing. Make a heartfelt mature family movie. No Legos (yes, I know Lord and Miller are gods), no celebrity voiced animals, and no cartoon advertisements. Also, no half-assed straight to DVD adaptations forced on a cinema screen (remember when Man and Girl did it in front of a gargoyle?).

That’d be crazy.. getting Mind bending Animated Sci Fi films for say the Flash and Noir Batman Animated Movies in cinema’s would be a hit.. sort of like what should’ve been done with the DCEU but still.

I almost feel like the krypto and Ace voices should be reversed. Maybe just cause of the old krypto show, but Ace is just as brooding and deep voiced as Batman and krypto is basically a friendly playful dog with superpowers. Ace should have the deeper, more serious voice of the two.

Just downloaded this move recently and wow, what a work of animated art it is. Dwayne Johnson playing Krypto The Super Dog was so hilarious and cool and also Kevin Hart and Keanu Reeves playing Droolo and Batman was so awesome as well. I also enjoyed watching Kate McKinnon playing the villain.

Everytime I hear the Superman Theme...I think back to when I was 5 years old and saw Christopher Reeve as "Superman." I still get chills but also shed a tear. R.I.P. to the true "Man of Steel"

Me too. Only those of us who were kids in the late 1970s would understand. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I saw the trailer last night for the first time on TV during the winter Olympics Commercial break and I was in the kitchen minding my own business when suddenly I heard the first few notes and I was like, no way, a new Reeve movie. It took back to my childhood for a few seconds. I really miss the man.

I feel old, I'm old enough to remember watching Krypto's cartoon TV series as a kid.
Amazing tv show and this is an amazing and cute movie
I just watched this today, because I opened my HBO app and it was there, and I have to say this is a good movie. I didn't expect that to be honest: I expected it to be overly silly and meant for children, but it was one of the few movies I have seen in recent times where I didn't feel a need to do anything else while I watched it.
FACTS
I was over it with the silly comedies. Gotta thank Marvel Studios for ruined the joy outta that one when they released SheHulk, Dr Strange 2 and Thor 4 🖕🏾🤮
Anyway. I too watched this on my HBO app and I had a blast.
They may be struggling with the movies but when it comes to animated content DC gets it right
Wish the same writers who write their animation did their live action movies

I loved this movie! I laughed, I cried and overall I was extremely entertained! Keanu Reeves being Batman was a shock cause I didn't recognize him. Also through the whole movie I thought that the turtle was Aquafina.

I’m actually genuinely surprised how good this movie looks. I figured it would just be “The Secret Life of Pets” with DC branding but it actually seems to be a substantial superhero film that just so happens to have talking animals.

Watched bits and pieces of that old "Krypto the Superdog" cartoon growing up; while I will admit this isn't the most "cinematic" of concepts by DC standards, I can obviously see Warner and co. are clearly having fun with it and its nice to see them try something different, yet familiar with the "Krypto" characters

Krypto the superdog and animals is often rare we don't get enough of it to be satisfying
Krypto already has a friend and a damn good one at that. Just bring in Batman’ Ace then you are good to go. No need for the other pets. The comics prove these two work extremely well with audience

Honestly to me, it makes very little difference what actor or actress is behind an animation character. When you watch movies like this you totally forget about the stars doing the voiceovers. It doesn't really hit you again until it's mentioned in the media.

I don't normally like cartoon movies but this one honestly made me laugh a lot.

The shelter pets route isn’t too bad actually, I’m assuming the justice league will adopt them at the end of the film.

I just watched this movie!! And when i say it "LOL'ed!" I can say positively I did indeed LOL! My two Sons couldnt keep it together for a secoond... MY HUSBAND DIDNT FALL ASLEEP EITHER!! 🤣🤣 All i have to say is this is a must watch for anyone these school holidays!! 😉

Just watched this. It's def an A+ film. The in jokes just keep on coming...which makes people watching hilarious. Half the time the parents are laughing, and the kids don't know why...and the rest of the time, everyone is laughing. Whiskers needed far far more screentime though! The old lady tortoise that keeps saying F*ck too with a censor beep is the icing on the cake!

I would've killed to literally have Henry Cavill voice Krypto. Such a missed opportunity. Would've been actually funny.
Sadly, it seems Warner Bros. wants nothing to do with Henry, as they've been planning to reboot the Superman movies with an African American actor as the man of steel.
