Got a few more vids cooking, about MK Aftermath, UE5 Next Gen etc. YT's new changes have a couple of them pending approval and I'll have them up ASAP.
I was wondering about Aftermath. Im like fiending to watch your reaction. Did you watch it on stream?
Yeah been looking for it since the robocop gameplay came out

Mortal Kombat !!!
Will you be uploading at least FFVIIR hard mode highlights, or is that staying on Twitch? No pressure if yes and no biggie if not.
open world feudal japan. Thats literally all i have ever wanted in a game.
Seriously! Samurai/ninja, yeah badass
Without any silly waypoints!
And in a historical period that has barely been explored. So many games focus on the Era of Warring States/Sengoku Jidai, but the only time I've ever seen the Mongol Invasion portrayed in a video game was the original Shogun: Total War.
It's so good
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
For the sake of clarity: Firstly, this is all based on the actual historical invasion of Tsushima by the Mongols. Jin is a Samurai and therefore has the traditional code of honor taught to him. So that would be, facing your opponent and fighting without trickery (like the firecrackers and such) but he is so determined/desperate to defend Japan and furious with his enemies that he takes on the tactics of the "Ghost" (More accurate to say Shinobi) and his master begins to get worried that he is forsaking his values too much. I would expect that the game will be challenging to play without resorting to the "Ghost" tactics as the game progresses. Also, with the stances, it seems they may have based them off of real techniques and very possibly off of Miyamoto Musashis teachings with the "Book of Five Rings"/ Go Rin No Sho. The game looks incredible and it seems they did a LOT of research at Sucker Punch, even when you consider the roles of animals (like the Fox) in Shinto it seems they have honored that all quite a lot in this project, particularly with a fox leading you to an Inari Shinto shrine as they show in the demo. I am very, very excited for this game.
The Hat to add to the historical point. Mongol invasion failed due to a a crazy storm. The Japanese coined the storm “Divine Wind” and it’s actually called “Kamikaze”. This survival of the Mongol invasion inflated Japans ego and rightfully so! This is the Mongols we are talking about. They NEVER fucking lose, right? So, this ego stayed for sooooo long and it’s why we see in WWII Japan standing up to America. We all knew what happened then. Anyway, I hope you the reader learned something.
NursKul yes i did
@@kingofpain11111 Yes, the invasion never went past Tsushima due to a typhoon which forced their ships to retreat from the Sea of Japan and all the Mongols were then executed. However, somehow relating that which occurred in the late 13th Century to the Imperial Japanese Army of the mid 20th Century is absolute ignorance. Quite a lot happened in that 700 years and there is no relation between the way of life of the two periods particularly since the Edo Period was the longest period of peace that country had ever seen and was incredibly prosperous. The comparison of 13th Century Feudal Japanese Shogunate to 20th Century Imperialism is completely absurd and so is the idea of them "standing up to America." The connection between Kamikaze (God-Wind) in reference to divine intervention against the Mongol Horde and the fanatical FORCED pilots of WW2 is an absolute perversion. The Imperial Army perverted everything about The Way in regards to Samurai and the concept of Kamikaze pilots was the greatest offense in regards to such perversion. I think the idea that their "ego was inflated" is also incorrect. It was a warrior culture and it had NEVER been successfully invaded by anyone, ever, in all of history. It is fair to consider as well that if you US has attempted an invasion by sea in Japan that it would have been a great deal more brutal that D-Day invasion of Normandy and very possibly would have failed. I am not sure where you got information from, or your translation, but they are not entirely accurate.
@@kingofpain11111 It'd be pretty cool if the game explains how Jin's legend as the vengeful spirit eventually morphed over the years into the present day belief that it was a storm that took out the Mongols. Winds are even heavily incorporated into the game.
A little bit of clarity about the fighting in the game:
It's not realistic, in the sense that it does not come from any kenjutsu style, the inspiration for the fighting seems to be kabuki stage fighting and samurai cinema fights (the last one actually draws inspiration from the first). You can actually see this in the exaggerated movements and the hard poses Jin pulls every time he kills someone as "the samurai", which makes sense, considering sucker punch has said numerous times that this game is a love letter to samurai cinema.
Another point we can make for this is the exaggerated way the enemies die, that's straight out of a samurai cinema movie.
The creator of assassin's creed said that Japan is a boring setting for their game. They better hold this game's beer
These were the same people who thought London was a good idea...even people from London like to say how lame their city is, and that's in modern day London.

When there's still no AC Japan,
Sony: Fine, I'll do it myself.
In all honesty though, this presentation alone is way better than the entire Xbox event last week. On one hand, I'm still excited for AC Valhalla and hope that Ubisoft will show us what the game has to offer in Ubisoft Forward in July.
After this AC Japan kinda feels worthless, i mean it will be this plus a hidden blade.
still might happen and be cool anyway
I'm just over AC at this point. Good games but not as Assassins Creed games. They've clearly taken the series in a totally different direction which is fine but they should just make a new IP. You're not even an assassin in the new games when the series is called *Assassins* Creed lol.
@Joseph Joestar ジョセフ・ジョースター showing historic figures, yokais, ninjutsu and all. Nice move that they're going for vikings, let the japan theme rest a little for a year or more so
At this point, I just want to see AC take on Asia in a main entry (so not counting Chronicles). Feudal Japan, Ancient China, the British colonisation of South East Asia, World War 2 era Shanghai, anything.
I got no doubt the franchise will continue as long as there's still historical era to explore. It's just a matter of when. 🤷♂️
They have said multiple times they have no intention of doing Japan too predictable and generic they said.

This game is being developed for 6 years. They didn’t take anything from Sekiro.
That they started development 6 years ago doesn't mean they didn't take inspiration from games coming out during development...
It will have been a year and half sense Sekiro's release before Ghost comes out. That's plenty of time to rework combat
@@tombraider200571 Actually, it isn't at all.
A year and a half if the time you need to fix what's broken, to playtest the shit out the game to make sure it has the experience you wanted, and minor tweaking.
A year and a half before release isn't the time to be reworking your entire combat system, that's just asking for trouble.
Because what people don't seem to realise is that the level design affects the combat system which in turn informs level design.
You can't rework your combat and not expect it to break absolutely everything you've done level-design wise in an action game like this one.
Some genres can get away with reworking combat such as MMOs since none of them use their envrionment as a tool to convey information when in combat. It's all about the ennemy in front of you and the arena is just the framing of the battle.
(level design isn't only a matter of traversal btw, the term encapsulates ennemy placement, density, line of sights, pacing, etc.)
@@arenkai "A year and a half if the time you need to fix what's broken, to playtest the shit out the game to make sure it has the experience you wanted, and minor tweaking.

The exception only further validates the rule, so you're certainly not wrong. But I'm pretty sure God of War 2018 threw out almost everything with only 2 years left to go. Again, just goes to show that crunch culture sucks, and even the best of games are sometimes produced in the worst circumstances.
@@turbonerdo6838 God of war was a game that was developed in 3 years. 1 year planning and scripting / story writing / key art and then the actual game development. The last year was bug fixes and tests and the actual publishing process. Maybe it was 4 years but I heared from Cory Barlog on a an interview that he said 3 years and explained each step. So you saying "only 2 years" is actual a fucking big amount of time. You can change a hell of alot in that timeframe. And they didn't threw everything out, one of the key animators for the combat system made the axe throw and the call back. Cory was loving it right from the start. But they weren't sure if they can use it, though they sticked with it and played along and kinda build the combat around it.

Tsushima is a story first game and now that we've seen the combat...Is it better than Nioh? Nioh is a gameplay first game so is it fair to compare the 2?
I mean that's probably why Sony released 2 samurai games in one year because they are different.
It's funny because people said Tsushima would be better than Nioh but we see it has implemented combat stances...which is from Nioh.
Nioh 2 the best ARPG of all time and it's on a tier of Bloodborne...the combat is the best objectively.
If Tsushima wants to compete with Nioh it needs to be masterful with it's story, side quests included because that's what will carry the game.
Nioh is carried by it's combat.
@@frankchapparo7391 I don't think anyone would say the combat is better than nioh that'd be stupid..but it's a somewhat simpler game and open world is better so overall people might like this more tho I personally think nioh is more satisfying but we'll see

@@rayshiotile9487 For an mgs game, i totally agree with you . But as general stealth-gameplay goes its too disjointed and looks not interactive enough at all.
Still no indicator how good hidden you are , flat stealthing without different approach-possibilities except being on higher or same ground as the guards (but maybe theres is more to it than it shows idk) , multiple takedowns that could trivialise stealth way too much and guards that rather looking at fire-crackers instead stating alert immediatly because it is loud af and unusual in the silent night to light up some firecrackers because ... reasons.
The stealth is typical open world fanfare as usual what they showed and it can be very dissapointing for some .

Huh, this game looks a lot more stylized that it seemed, which is great!
After seeing him reactions to Final Fantasy and him on Dropped Frames, I found myself a new reaction channel.
I still don't see how people find the combat "off", what else type of combat did you want? This beats every other type of combat so far for it's style, hack and slash sponge shaving would just make this feel like shit, and this 1 shot, fast paced parry combat fits so well. Even Witcher 3's combat was bogged down, even though it was already mediocre at best already, by that fact. slashing and hacking multiple times and the enemies barely showing any reaction to each hit unless your higher lvl than them. Just takes out of the bad ass feel of a skilled sword fighter. Only thing that made it better was the mutilation finishers (not sure of the exact word to use instead of mutilation)
meeran haq Well, everyone has their own desires when it comes to combat. It may feel badass, to dispatch foes in a single stroke, but I’m worried that I won’t even see the enemys as threats.
Unless they can one-shot me just as easily, I’ll be half asleep as I mow them down like grass.
I really hope there’s more to the combat than what I’ve seen so far.
Yea I agree. I’ll take this over the whole “death of a thousand cuts” combat that everyone shoved into their games nowadays. I really started to hate it When AC odyssey had it. Combat was so fucking boring because it was just mash one button till they die, parry occasionally.
My problem with the Ass Creed classic style is that it means you have less tools to express yourself in combat and that you cannot use them outside of combat due to context sensitivity.
I don't know about Odyssey which had some sort of leveling system, but I want a decent number of mid combat actions which only seems to be teased with the styles at the moment. We can have that and also a means to defeat or avoid enemies fast, even BOTW or DMC does it.
Encounters with enemies made of paper need you to be made of paper to be remembered.
@@thelastgogeta Go watch the the duel at the end E3 2018 gameplay. Obviously not every enemy is one-hit kill but the combat seems to depend on not taking damage but instead reflecting, parrying or dodging blows. It relies on technique and reaction time and distances itself from button masher style combat systems with level scaling like in other open world games like AC Origins, Skyrim or Zelda BOTW. It is the perfect style for this type of game considering the Samurai theme, developers definitely know what they are doing here.
@@sageoftruth I think the game has a block meter, like sekiro or fallen order. Which means even though enemies die in one or two hits you still have to get through their defenses before you can hit them.

The Assasins Creed game we deserve but will never get 😭
Fun Fact! The reason you’re called: The Ghost. Setting of the game is 12th century. Shinobi didn’t originate until 15th century. It’s those little attention to details that prove the developers respected their craft. However cleverly it’s suspected that antecedents may have existed as early as the 12th century :)
Actually 13th century, and there was two invasions. So, if were lucky we'll get a sequel or a dlc in the future!
Well you say that, but there are a LOT of historical inaccuracies that were put in for cinematic flavor and general "samurai-ness". For example, during the 12th century, he wouldn't even have had a true katana. He would have had a dachi which is much longer. The dachi would have been stowed in his belt blade-down rather than blade-up, and it would have been too long to perform iaido (attacking from the sheathed position) which wasn't even invented until the 15th century. Whenever Jin flicks his sword to remove the blood, it is a ritualistic movement called chiburi that was invented during the Edo period, which takes place centuries after the setting of the game. All of the combat styles/stances/movements are based off of Edo period styles/stances/movements. Even little details like the traditional sitting on the knees thing (seiza) was invented in the Edo period. The entire plot of the game, the honorable Samurai way vs dishonorable "ghost" way, is an Edo period interpretation of Bushido. Especially during a period of war, no samurai would have cared how they killed their enemy. In fact, the most famous historical "Ninja" (Hattori Hanzo) was a samurai.
That title summed up my reaction with ghost of tsushima. Day one y'all.
Yeah, the ‘T’ is definitely not silent in Tsushima. It’s supposed to be ‘Tsoo-she-mah’ (I’m no professional when it comes to writing out pronunciations, so give me a break). Also, in Japanese, the first syllable is the stressed syllable more often than not. So, we tend to say ‘He-roh-SHEE-mah,’ but the stress definitely shouldn’t be on the third syllable in Hiroshima. Anyway, it’s not really all that important since the Japanese butcher English pronunciation with katakana, but if anyone actually cares about how it’s pronounced in Japanese, there ya go.
8:42 that is exactly how I feel.
Before: hmm that looks cool. i'll check it out when it comes out

I've been waiting on this game for 2 to 3 years
I would like to see a 'Tenchu' game look like this. The first thing that poped to my mind after saw Stealth kills was Tenchu.
Didn't Sekiro begin as a Tenchu game?
Thought the "sword play" from Sekiro was one of the best skill based combat systems I've ever seen in an action-RPG style game.
Its design was genuis in the way that it actually allowed the developer to truly compose your bossfight experiences. The final boss is indicative of that.
Edit: Perhaps try to make the game a bit more difficult. Those NG debuffs stacked on to the max difficulty scaling require mastery of certain enemies and reaction.
Cant wait to see how they innovate the combat farther in Elden Ring.
Thank you finally, I been ready for this game. Since I saw the reveal!

I never thought of this game at all, I thought it would be another souls like game, but now, open world Feudal Japan setting, a choice of being a Ninja or Samurai, oh yeah I'm sold.
The Same kind of goes for sekiro as well
God this game looks so incredible, I hope it can live up to it's hype.
you have one of the best intros that I've ever seen its amazing
It certainly looks interesting, but I'm a little concerned about how "stiff" and "quick-timey" some of it looked. I hope it's just an old build effect or the way they were playing it.
I need more on that combat man, I can't get a good feel for how the mechanics interact from these trailers and videos. Gotta dive DEEP in to exactly what you can do and what your opponents can do.
This is sick I've already got this pre ordered looks absolutely beautiful
This exploration part has this Breath of the Wild feel to it
>auto-walks to enemy occupied village
>Press 'x'
>Muh slow motion for no reason
>Insta kill enemy
Impressive gameplay, isn't it?
Dont like it? Dont play it..simple
That photo mode where you can sort of make gifs will be so cool. I can see people making some really neat things out of that. Especially during combat scenes
Definitely going full ninja in this game.
I've traveled throughout TSUSHIMA a few times. It's an incredible place with some unique wildlife and monuments to events that happen within this game.
I know a lot of people are comparing this to Assassins Creed, but I get more Witcher vibes tbh, especially with the animal guides basically being your Witcher senses and the shrines that give you buffs. Also, the stance switching in Samurai mode was really unexpected, definitely more excited about combat now
When Max plays this, he should filter his face cam to be Kurosawa mode
I’m playing through this game right now and I’m so engrossed in the story, gameplay and gorgeous graphics and scenery. It’s truly a masterpiece of a game!
Ghost of Tsushima looks like MGSV + RDR2 + TLZ BOTW + Nioh.
And that's an interesting mix.
I would put assassins creed or tenchu in place of metal gear, since these are melee weapons
I wouldnt really say metal gear5. Metal gear 5 was basically the borderlands of stealth games giving u every way possible of stealth or combat, this is more batman Arkham stealth imo
Respectable opinions, but I still see some similarity to MGSV.
@@GMOTP5738 Poor pathetic baby, go get a brain
bro the wind is literally your navigation tool and flows toward your destination
I don't give a shit, I pre-ordered it, and i'm the type of guy to not normally do that, only for a few select games.
The setting being limited to an island could allow them to really add a lot of detail. I remember when this game got shown at E3 2018 alongside Sekiro. I was hyped just because they mentioned a different "health" system tied to posture. I think what really got me into following the game is an anime called "Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion." It's pretty much the Mongol Invasion of Tsushima though definitely more grandiose and with more spectacle.
Jin in Ghost of Tsushima: Fear multi takedown!
Batman in Arkham Knight: Wait What?
For the first couple minutes of this I was screaming at the screen that this wasn’t a souls like game
I hope they bring it to PC someday. I really want to experience this. :(
Awesome thing is that during the duel/standoff mode, they adjust the aspect ratio to make it cinematic. Simply amazing.
Soooo.... where’s the Aftermath gameplay reacts video?
I’m there with ya lmao
Probably still loading up since UA-cam decided to botch itself for few minutes and screw up everything
This is going to be the best birthday gift ever.
Pure Samurai game, influenced by classic samurai movies.
Roof1975 couldnt have said it better myself
Sadly not many samurai games seem to be made. They've got to be one of my favorites, especially as open world.
I believe his last samurai stance is an advanced version of Ko Gasumi. He changed between 3 different stances in the exchange they showed. So dope!
Wait sekiro’s combat is average? I thought it was some of the most intense and satisfying swordplay ive ever played
It is intense and satisfying, but it is also very repetitive, the swordplay depends on the enemy you fight more than the mechanics itself so it's more aesthetically thrilling than mechanically. I love the game, but the combat does boil down to three attacks, parry parry parry, three attacks, repeat until the enemy's posture is low enough to kill them. This seems to have more variety in how you can approach even head on combat.
@@wag-wankenobi1626 No, Sekiro has way more than that, there also are quite a few prosthetic tools you can use in many situations, not to mention combat arts. Also stealth, that's in Sekiro too
@@wag-wankenobi1626 It's not just about attack and parry. From Software has always made "simple" combat because how you are even able to engage with enemies is integral to the ENTIRE games design and combat experience.
From Software has ALWAYS made you play by their rules and punishes players for deviating by creating very very difficult enemies and mechanical traps.
However, once you give in. The genius in design becomes apparent. In Sekiro's case the entire idea was to keep you in a dance of swords, where you are constantly a HAIR away from death. The NPC's are training for the bosses.
Bossfights like Hirata Owl and Sword Saint force you to even give up entirely on your attack and put ALL YOUR FOCUS on the defense. Especially the sword saint which for many players takes every ounce of skill they have. You need to truly focus.
No other gamer moment has ever gotten my heart to beat so fast and hard as a difficult FromSoft boss. I guess a lot of people just dont understand how and why the combat is like it is, and why it makes it so different from other games.
Agreed. I've found that too many people simply don't experiment with all of the tools the game has, and limit themselves to attack/deflect. From games are what you make of them, otherwise you're just using the most basic of tools to get by.
It's pretty good combat but Nioh's is really just superior.
This game is so unique i dont remember tha last time i played a realistic samurai/ninja game and one that is not to arcade and whit enemies beeing "bulletsponges".
