  • Blasts have rippled across Beirut after Israel launched an intense, successive bombing campaign. Around 30 Israeli raids targeted what the military says were Hezbollah infrastructure and weapons sites, mostly in the country's south.
More than 400 Australians have made it safely out of Lebanon, with two repatriation flights landing in Cyprus. Another two are scheduled, but thousands remain stranded with many fearing the journey to Beirut's international airport amid ongoing Israeli air strikes.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in Australian cities, repeating calls for an end to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. The marches were met with a heavy police presence, which anticipated heightened tensions on the eve of October 7.
