Judging from the scars on the left handle of the front panel, the last test machine was not the same machine at all
I also noticed that in the end when he closed the cover transistor wasn't soldered at all...
Also the faceplate is a different color and the knobs lost their black inserts. The resistor being soldered where a zener diode goes takes the cake!

Those amps are beasts. That one might still have worked somewhat in its pre-restored shape, as long as all the blown transistors were pulled out. Post-restore, should work well for years yet. 👍️

They have one stupid problem though, they won't function without that motor-fan being operational.
@@puciohenzap891 Didn't know that, but it makes sense. The underlying amp technology wasn't necessarily the most efficient; there'd be a lot of heat to dissipate. I prefer the protection mode of "attenuate the amp based on heat load," but I guess a safety like that is better than nothing. Must be a headache during a live show though.
Pre restored worked (at least led' are binking). After rusting in chemicals and puliing out transistors its only for trash.

Amazing rebuilds. How in Gods name do you remember all the connections going back! I would be lost and hooking up wrong wires.

That's a quick way to solder through hole components! I suppose whatever works, instead of the longer process of soldering through the hole to the trace side. I also noticed that the working amp doesn't appear to match with the restored one.

Brings back memories too. I still own a MA1201 I bought second hand some 25 years ago. Works like a charm (although I don't use it much anymore).

I was a Crown authorized factory warranty tech for years in music stores in Austin..Repaired many of those and the older ones and the micro techs too..A curve tracer makes troubleshooting a breeze instead of a DVM though..The old DC#))'s did just that..they DC straight into your cab when an output shorts...Peavey CS800 crowbar protect circuit was the answer, we built them on small cards to for in the banana jacks on those..fun stuff.
That crowbar circuit on the CS800 took me for a ride one time when I was just getting into amplifier repair as a teen. Theres a couple concerns in this particular video though. He doesnt show the replacement transistors, only soldering in the old ones and not showing the replacements. And then at the end of the video it looks like a completely different amp with the sticker looking new..
@@THEtechknight Yeah I was watching to see what he used for the replacements, the Crown output transistor is just a rebranded MJ21194 or MJ15024 or something IIRC?

один вопрос 26:50 а вы увидели хоть одну изолирующую шайбу на момент сборки из терморезины или хотябы слюды.
без изолирующих шайб транзисторы на корпус будут иметь одно большое короткое замыкание.
@@user-hv5tx6qv7k нормально там всё с этим. Если вы не заметили там на каждом радиаторе по 6 транзисторов в параллель стоят, соответственно и изоляторы не нужны, да и провода питания там подключены к радиаторам.. Если поставить изоляторы, как пойдёт ток на коллекторы транзисторов?

Ремонтировал один аппарат, а в финале подключил и демонстрирует другой... Оформление передних панелей отличается и др.элементы. Липа какая-то...
Я тоже заметил,что что-то не то.Последнюю плату вообще просто положил,не закрепив.Понятно,что лажа.

limpia y observa filtros y diodos y despues resolda todos los puntos de la fuente de poder y sino arranca tu aparato de sonido......Me capo amigo mio@@josuebalam5119

What the hell... Left channel power transistors were not replaced, and still he is playing both channels. It's a fake restoration.

Of course it's fake, the amp at the and is a different one! Look at the details, these people know no shame.

The final assembled unit is not the same one as the workin one turn on at end. You can tell by comparing the front unit decal. Upper right corner has a slight missing cut on working unit, but the non working does not. The knobs are not the same. The marking on the final "restored" assembly has red deteriorate dial marking, while final working does not. Finally, I don't a single 1k ohm meter setting enough to trace through that troubleshooting. So you had 2 to begin with, one junk amplifier never intended to be "restored" as a workin unit and one working one to show at the end as working unit. Well,... at least there was a good job cleaning and painting.

Quá là giỏi và thông minh e ạ, a cũng có 1 cái nhưng không biết cách để phục hồi lại, điện vẫn vào nhưng không có tiếng, nhìn chung còn đẹp hơn của e đây, e ở đâu cho a địa chỉ a sẽ gửi biếu tặng em để e làm clip phục hồi lại cho mọi người cùng xem giải trí nhé
