I remember as a kid always seeing their cds at the store and thinking they looked cool but never heard them and didn't want to gamble the 10-15 bucks to check them out. After a while I ended up getting it in one of those 12 cds for a penny things from Columbia house. Of course like every other 90s kid I never bought the other 2 cds or whatever it was to fulfill the contract. After a while I got a call from their billing department saying they could go after my Bank account and even my car if I didn't pay up (mind you this was over about 25 bucks) I was like listen dude I'm 14 I dont have a bank account or a car. He just paused for a second and was like oh can I talk to one of your parents. So I put my mom on the phone and after about 15 minutes back and forth my mom just said "he's 14 he's not contractually obligated to do anything!" and hung up on him. Anyway great album and the best 12th of a cent I ever spent
hahaha I did one of those too! I think I needed to buy 6 but every time I would buy them like 4 or 5 of them were discounted and didn't "count" toward the purchase, I think I bought 3 at full price and stiffed them the other 3 all the while getting like 20 CDs total for the 3 at full price.
Whoa, dude, I'm 35 and this is the exact same thing that happened to me when I was 15. I got 12 free CDs. Got R.A.T.M, Deftones, Tool, Less Than Jake, Blink 182, Nirvana, some others but damn that's a 90's list of music rite there hahaha but yeah they called my parents too and my mom told them my son is 15 haha he's not old enough to legally sign anything. They just hung up. Free music all day!!!
They probably got some actor to play the astronaut in this video when they could have gotten a real life astronaut super fan if they just hopped on down to Florida.
I just listened to this song in my car today because it's in my "misc alternative" music folder on the usb stick I use. JCS rocks! Saw them live at the '96 HFStival in DC. Had their T-shirt with the "young, dumb and uncreative" lyric on it. Was at a club in Ocean City, MD and when I got there realized JCS would be playing that same night (only like a $10 cover charge to get in). Damn right I stayed - even though I had to be home the next morning (3 hour drive) for school.
Seen them outside of RFK in 1994 before the Pink Floyd concert, they were off in the grass near the corner of the parking lot. I remember the bass player broke a string right before playing.
Shit I remember my sophomore year of high school seeing these guys in a little venue in Tucson Arizona, needless to say I left this show with out either of my shoes and a broken nose!! Good times These guys are bad ass
I was a big fan back in the day too. From what I remember, they were supposed to be part of a festival with Sammy Hagar but refused to play because they saw him as a 'dinosaur'.
jimi haha just what I heard on WAAF. Was hooked on the first album, High-the big single, is actually the weakest song of the album. Played that thing over and over, trying to turn heads on to it sophomore year
Man this brings back memories! These guys were basically the house band at Hammer Jacks (the original). When I was a youngin' growing up in Pasadena (North East High alum) our big thing was blowin bong hits and skateboarding and Chicken Shack was the sound track of it. I can remember before they went national, the Evolve Board Shop (anyone remember that joint) sponsored JCS. They would put there music in all of their low budget TV commercials. A great time for MD music. JCS, Lake Trout & others
Saw them at HFStival (2nd stage) and in Ocean City (don't remember the club, though). I did see Faith No More at Hammerjacks. That was a kick-ass show.
Thank you for posting. JCS is possibly the most underrated bands of the 90s and into the 2000s. It's unfortunate they had so many issues with their contracts.
Ah! Bringing back mid 90s memories. I went crazy about this song back then and still crazy this year 2021. Thanks UA-cam. With ♥️ from the Philippines.👍✌️🤘😉
Love this song, and the album it is on. One of, if not the best rock albums of the 90's (which was FULL of good rock music). Bring Your Own Stereo is awesome too. Lazy Boy Dash is my favorite song of theirs ( or When You Die, You're Dead) . I remember at the 1st annual Baltimore Grand Prix a few years back, I had been there most of the day, and after I left, I was looking at the program and discovered that JCS was playing a show there in an hour or so, so I immediately turned right around! Few years before that I was at the HFStival one year and JCS were headlining the street stage. Jimi says "We are just going to play until someone unplugs us". Few hours later I had missed Cypress Hill, Our Lady Peace and The Living End on the main stage. took 10+ years for the chance to see The Living End again. Well Worth It! !
back in the 90's I was at a show in Glen Burnie where Che (bass player) was jumping around, fell on his ass and didn't miss a beat. I'm sure there were reasons the lineup changed, but man they kicked it.
OK, seriously. . .I want 311 to announce a new tour after their new record drops. . .and I want their tour-mates to be the reunited The Urge, and this band right here. I could die happily. I was in junior high when all of this great music came out. . .I want a chance to see them together!
Jonathan Thomas the urge plays at home in STL almost every Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. STILL kicking ass to this day. If anyone in STL looks up Steve Ewing's hot dog restaurant.
If my favorite FM rock radio station didn't exist back then in the 90s, then I'm pretty much sure I'm gonna miss this other great song Dropping Anchor in my whole life. Thanks to you again NU 107.😉--Aims ( With love from the Philippines)
I liked the album back in the day. However, both times I bought it my car was broken into and had about a grand in CDs stolen twice. Stereo once. Ugh. I never bought it again. Lol. Great songs tho.🤘
Learning self-care is like building your own lifeboat, plank by plank. Once you've got your boat, you'll still be rocked by the waves of life, but you'll have a feeling of safety, and stability that means you can pick other people up on your way. Or come back for the one you left behind when you sank mine.
I can hear a vague resemblance but rest assured the album as a whole is all over the place. Its really good though but don't expect all of the tracks to be like this one.
The single most underrated album of the 1990s...every track is a classic...
THE WHOLE ALBUM ROCKS!!!
netto drums all their music is pretty good. One of the first bands I recommend to people.
yeh!
This album is horribly underrated......when it came out and even today.......They are great.
i still jam this album at least once a month.
OMG YESSSSSS!!!!! DUDE, SOME HAVE NO IDEA.
Used to get so stoned and listen to this album over and over.
Still do. Like right this minute.
I remember as a kid always seeing their cds at the store and thinking they looked cool but never heard them and didn't want to gamble the 10-15 bucks to check them out. Lol same here
I can very much relate
hahaha I did one of those too! I think I needed to buy 6 but every time I would buy them like 4 or 5 of them were discounted and didn't "count" toward the purchase, I think I bought 3 at full price and stiffed them the other 3 all the while getting like 20 CDs total for the 3 at full price.
That was a solid read.

The most underrated rock band from that era! Glad Jimmy is still around, they are out on their 25th anniversary tour right now
They have a new album coming out soon
Best part of growing up in Maryland is these guys played a concert at my high school.
I just listened to this song in my car today because it's in my "misc alternative" music folder on the usb stick I use. JCS rocks! Saw them live at the '96 HFStival in DC. I just randomly found this song today and I’m completely addicted to it! It deserves so much more attention than what it gets.
Seen them outside of RFK in 1994 before the Pink Floyd concert, they were off in the grass near the corner of the parking lot. I remember the bass player broke a string right before playing.
They are releasing a new album soon. I cannot wait to get it on wax.
Any fellow astronauts listening in 2021 😏😏😏
Back when MTV still played tunes.. this is awesome
Shit I remember my sophomore year of high school seeing these guys in a little venue in Tucson Arizona, needless to say I left this show with out either of my shoes and a broken nose!! Good times These guys are bad ass
I remember similar instances in the 80's watching Flotsam and Jetsam at The Wildcat House
Such a cool band! They should of been bigger then they were. Still jammin to their stuff.
ua-cam.com/video/UjO_z5nxSzQ/v-deo.html
These guys should have been a lot bigger than they ended up .
Somebody dropped the ball big time ...
Fucking band & Lp rocks !!
I was a big fan back in the day too. From what I remember, they were supposed to be part of a festival with Sammy Hagar but refused to play because they saw him as a 'dinosaur'.
+themachine 82 not true
jimi haha just what I heard on WAAF. Was hooked on the first album, High-the big single, is actually the weakest song of the album. Played that thing over and over, trying to turn heads on to it sophomore year
+jimi haha I'd think you didn't want to play with him just because that hair has become a bit scary on Sammy. ;)
jimi haha I played this album a million times. Makes me miss the 90s.

I remember them playing daytonas all the damn time, before they built the cvs. NE alum too. (01)
Saw them at HFStival (2nd stage) and in Ocean City (don't remember the club, though). I did see Faith No More at Hammerjacks. That was a kick-ass show.

And 2 successful singles... They were pretty popular back then
Can't get enough of this song. I love this, too much.
Don't think I could ever could get sick of this song. The opening and closing tracks of this album are just phenomenal.
So happy this found it's way on to UA-cam... great video and amazing song!
If this was released yesterday it would still be a kick-ass hit.
lol no it wouldn't they don't even play rock music on the radio or tv anymore come on now.
@@charlespancamo9771 yea it would this slaps
Ah! Bringing back mid 90s memories. I went crazy about this song back then and still crazy this year 2021. Thanks UA-cam. With ♥️ from the Philippines.👍✌️🤘😉

Such a great band...and so under rated!

Been jamming this CD this week. The whole thing rocks like HE said
First band I ever saw live. Was a great way to pop my cherry with this album.
Thanks to my my friend Carlton, for turning me on to this band. For the good times RIP my brother from another mother!
OK, seriously. . .I want 311 to announce a new tour after their new record drops. . .and I want their tour-mates to be the reunited The Urge, and this band right here. I could die happily. I was in junior high when all of this great music came out. . .I want a chance to see them together!
Damn dude! I'm a big fan of Jimmie's Chicken Shack, 311 and The Urge. I love all three of those bands.
Jonathan Thomas the urge plays at home in STL almost every Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. STILL kicking ass to this day. If anyone in STL looks up Steve Ewing's hot dog restaurant.
This was one of the first bands my dad introduced to me when I was and I still listen to it a lot
Whole album thanks for the song it helps while i sooth this ache from tough stuff
Ah my high school days! :)
If my favorite FM rock radio station didn't exist back then in the 90s, then I'm pretty much sure I'm gonna miss this other great song Dropping Anchor in my whole life. Thanks to you again NU 107.😉--Aims ( With love from the Philippines)
Thank you Spotify for recommending these guys to me! Wow, take me back to the 90s
Hammerjacks (not to mention Traxx, Memory Lane, 8x10...any Baltimore people????)...1994-95....GREAT F'n times man. Best times of my life.
Seriously pisses me off this band isn't fucking millionaires! So under rated!
Feels extra nostalgic with the M2 logo in the corner. Very underrated band!
Really good album and has some unique aspects. Some bands weren’t pushed enough and this is one of them
Dated Jimmy Ha Ha's sister back in the 80's.
The good old days at the 8x10 in Baltimore.
I had all my boys both my metal heads and my boys from the projects balls deep into jimmies Chicken Shacks first two CDs
Damn, I miss those years . Teenage life and the music was Damn Good.
Maryland 💗
see jane run
schwarze Milch Daria was the best!
abraham lincoln sein vater i didnt hear the part that played in the episode
the sound at the beginning is awesome
August 2020 Still listening. This album would be a "desert island" must have.
I liked the album back in the day.
However, both times I bought it my car was broken into and had about a grand in CDs stolen twice. Stereo once. Ugh.
I never bought it again. Lol. Great songs tho.🤘
I remember watching this on MTV x back in the day every song on this album is good one of my favorite albums of all time.
Forgot about this song. Dope track.
I always loved the bass playing in the whole album.
Love the album artwork motif.
this song is so badass its practically my anthem
Hat's off to these guys....😃
They used to play for us Marines when I was stationed at Quantico, VA.
Come on man, we've ALL been tied to words that we sink.
I used drink with these guys in east port in Annapolis. Good guys
Growing up this was one of my favorite bands
Jimmy Haha grew up near my aunt in Bowie Maryland by the old Bowie Ice Arena.
Never gets old still the best🤘😎❗
Still slaps after all these years!
Well I can proudly say I was smart enough to buy this album.
Dear America, I give a damn!
Awesome video and song
i've been searching for this video on the internet for years.
thanks to this mbt fellow for finally doing it.
God... nostalgia vibes hard man
GREAT! Didn't know this existed, thanks. Anybody ever track down any album b-sides or the rerecorded versions of early tracks they did?
Street Mob Orchestra no answer yet
I saw them at a mancow show in 97 at tweeter center.
Seen them on the roar tour with sevendust in savannah Georgia
1997
Fave❤❤❤❤❤
This band was so sick. Was a shame they got just passed over so easily. They deserved all the fame that 311 ended up getting lol
Deserve...they still make music. The singer actually has this band, Jarflys, & Mend the Hollow. Check them out.
Eh, they're great. But come on, 311? They're not quite on that level. 311 is world class.
They are huge here in their hometown in maryland and they have a new album about to drop
this actually bangs tho
Old school memories
Just know there’s people like me hearing this band for the first time in 2022. I thank Apple Music.

WHY IS THIS VERSION NOT ON SPOTIFY????
80's music videos seemed to always start music before video.... ?.
I don't care, this rocks!!!
I didn't start taping the video in time so that's why it's black at first. The audio is from the CD.
Yeahhh
ahhh man the 90's >< they just dont make em like this anymore
Yes...!! Been waiting for this one in youtube, for years...

I can hear a vague resemblance but rest assured the album as a whole is all over the place. Its really good though but don't expect all of the tracks to be like this one.
holy shit - this is fucking hot
2021
bass player slaps .... no pun intended
Sounds like it is going to start as an AIC type song then changes and becomes a beast.
What if Tool and The Presidents of the United states of America had a baby?🤔
I wish they would re-release this song....
