  • Six months after leaving my home in England, I finally made it to the penultimate and climactic stage of my long tour along the Silk Road; Tajikistan!
Here I fulfilled the life long dream of crossing the Pamir Highway, the second highest international road in the world standing at well over 4,000m above sea level.
Here are my moments from that journey.

Your videos have been an immense help for me when days were rough, you have made me realize that there will really bad days and some good ones and it's the bad days that'll help you appreciate the good ones.
I have seen the darkest points of life, where I thought the world was better without me and it's a thought that can change a persons life in both ways, but that's when I watched your first video(Cycling across India) and thanks to you(and some friends) I'm now well and good. You have made me there's sooo much more to life than what I'm experiencing now.
    Thank you
    Stay safe

Hi Johnny, yes you're right it's the shit days that make you really appreciate and value the good ones! An important thing to remember is that these hard times are not here to stay they are here to pass mate, and they won't pass until it's taught us everything we need to know about ourselves through that experience. I experienced a lot of dark days on this ride, and felt very lost too, like what's the point?! But that IS the point if you get me??Accept however you're feeling, don't judge or try to control things. There is SO much more to life, all within your hands. Remember to love yourself.
I'm so happy to hear that these videos helped you somewhat:)
      Thank you

    Wow, respect man
What was the temperature encountered (and at what time of the year did you cycling into Tajikistan ?)
Is there a website where we can see you're equipment list ? (i'm particularly interesting in your sleeping bag choice)

Hey! Thank you for your kind message! I travelled through the Pamir's around June/July so temperatures were quite warm, around 15/20 degrees, and not too cold at night, around 0-5degrees. I took a 500 down sleeping bag which was plenty. but if you have a few thick jackets as well that will help. I have an equipment list from first tour here: www.jackfew.com/equipment.html
      i hope this helps!

Awesome! This route was on my list for next year, though sadly I don't know if it will happen now. I wanted to let you know I've taken the liberty of adding a link to this video at bikesleepbike.com, where I'm building a directory of journals and videos about bike routes around the world. Hope that's ok with you (if not, just let me know) and I hope it'll help more people discover it. Feel free to add your future cycle touring videos as well!
