  • Today's adventure takes us to Morris, Illinois in Grundy County and to Evergreen Cemetery. This still active cemetery is more than 180-years-old and contains more than 7,000 graves. When I say this cemetery has a little bit of everything I'm not exaggerating. There are historical figures who were the pioneers of Grundy County. There is a Pottawatomie Indian Chief who became friends with the white man and was well respected in the community. There's a potter's field with the unmarked graves of those who were less fortunate in life and were not able to be recognized in death. Even the 130-year-old vault still exists that held the corpses during the winter because the ground was too hard to dig with hand tools. So come join me as we explore this wonderful historic cemetery.
