Good idea to press the fabric before cutting out
Beautiful❣ Next time, with fabric like that, try a french seam. That color is gorgeous also. Love it with the black.
I was thinking the same thing… a French seam would of been lovely
Love that we’re both virgos and like vilanelle. That dress looks exquisite on you. You are amazing and you inspire me to continue to learn how to sew.
This video popped up on my recommended and I’m glad it did because this style has been in the back of my head for a while. I love the color too

Yes, certainly not minimalist haha. Thank you!
Looks great.
I’d love to see a pair of shorts video 🤓
Amazing ...
Love this!! Can I ask how much fabric you used?
Hi Emily! how many yards of fabric did you use to make this dress? looking to recreate something similar :)
🌟
I'm late to the party here, but I am OBSEESSED with this. You are making me want to make the Georgia Midi with see thru fabric!
Oooh that would be lovely I bet!
I would appreciate a video on how you shop and buy fabric via online….how do you know what it will feel like? What weight it is ! How soft it is? ( or not) and exactly what color it is? Returns? I cannot afford to buy fabric and find it is not what I really want…it completely defeats the purpose of making my own clothes to 1) get exactly what I want and 2) to be more sustainable. Thanks.
Oh great question! Many online retailers offer swatches for $1-2 so you can test them. It’s also important to find a store you trust. For example I love Blackbird because they provide really detailed descriptions of their fabrics to help me make a decision and I always know I’m getting something high quality from them. Maybe also take a look around your local fabric store to get familiar with different fabric types, weights, feels etc. I’ve never been really unhappy with an order to the point of returning it, but everything goes into my stash anyway so I know it’ll get used eventually even if it’s not perfect for the project I envisioned.
