    I look forward to seeing the collection. They seem to be doing everything right leading up to it, and I don't see this as a vanity project (which is usually what these are). I especially like their commitment to transparency and sustainability. Perhaps they will move others to follow their example.

      Yeah, I don’t think this is a vanity project either, it seems like it’s quite a well thought out expansion to the product offering from the company. I’m still curious to know if it will be terrible or good, which is why I wanted to do this video before the collection showed, but it will be interesting nonetheless

    It's a very understated, under the radar brand for a reason. And a very successful one at that. Chopard is the very definition of quiet luxury before it actually became a thing! Their roster of customers is far wealthier than what you'll find at competing brands, which are mostly based on hype & marketing that caters to the masses. Chopard is to luxury goods what Graff is to high-end jewelry. Their clientele is mainly looking for exclusivity and silent brand equity.

    • @understitchYT
      @understitchYT  6 місяців тому

      I think so too, for sure. It's nowhere near as loud as other brands, but their innovations are well loved and known by their clientele. Its very in-crowd marketing and I think their customers appreciate that

    I am really enjoying your content. But would like a more generalised overview of fashion marketing /product development ie product lifecycles, the 4 p’s that kind of thing in one video, you have peppered them in your other video’s. Do you have a suggested reading list in Amazon ? Also wouldn’t mind a video on up and coming brands to watch that are still accessible for the general public. Thanks
    Keep up the great work.

    • @understitchYT
      @understitchYT  Рік тому +1

      To be totally honest with you, I fully studied this in university, retail marketing, retail business, and I have to admit the books are horrendously dull, even for me, I thought they were very boring. I mean I learnt a lot, but they were a mission to get through and learn from. Luckily, though, a lot of the concept in marketing are repeated over and over and over again, because they apply to so many. If you’re looking for a really digestible marketing content, I always enjoyed Seth Godin’s books, but I know that he is quite controversial, a lot of people don’t really rate him at all, and you have to read it with a pinch of salt, knowing that this is somebody’s opinion, but they are a very digestible read, and they make marketing seem more real and emotional than the way that people try to quantify marketing so much. Which in reality is not always the best because what may work for one brand won’t work for another.
      In terms of smaller brands, I heavily recommend trying to find something local near you, if you want something at the affordable level, or following extremely small brands, maybe that short fashion week, although I have just done a graduate collection and following them for a few years until they have a pop-up or sample sale . That always does well for me, but, I actually tried to do interviews with smaller brands so that I could promote them, and they just didn’t get watched very much. I have one more coming, but I don’t know if I will do another after that because if I’m not getting clicks, then it will hurt my position in the algorithm.
      I voice type this whole thing, sorry, if some of it is a bit nonsensical, I can’t trust, apples voice type always
      If you have any more questions, I’m always happy to answer them 💖

      @@angelprat6080 I loved the comment, dont worry about it and thank you for what you said. Some of my videos are expected to get more views and some less views in general. Beyonce and Karl Lagerfeld are huge names, so I can expect more clicks from non-subscribers, whereas for Chopard, unless their show on Tuesday randomly goes viral, I have less of a chance of getting a tonne of views from (but that absolutely did not stop me from working for two days straight no sleep on the video to get it out in time just in case). Sometimes I even plan for videos to get less views when I just really believe in the brand, like Charles Jeffrey or Ottolinger, so the viewership of a video isn't necessarily how I value my videos anyway, so I wouldn't take offense from that at all

    Hi Understitch, At first I was going to think it will a success as part of the Richmond group. They have deep pockets. then I look it up. It was not part of the Richmond group which I said oh no. Its low to mid budget watch business financial. There is however one upside to haute couture for Chopard is to push super high end ladies watches.

    It’s a great company. I would stick to scarves, luxury bags for men and women, maybe very elegant eyewear. I wouldn’t get involved in luxury clothing because it’s not their specialty. But I have known Chopard since 1982. I had a friend that would buy Chopard watches and jewelry in dozens from Switzerland and not pay the 20% tax because she would bring it out of the country and sell it in Hong Kong including the 20% tax. She was also buying Rolex. It was a lucrative business but eventually she got out of it because it was risky. 😊😊😊
