Thank you for the wonderful review of our Tatami armor and the history of its origin and use throughout the history of Japan. Very well researched and explained.
+Gabriel Rossa It is our pleasure. We appreciate you honoring us with your next order. Please let Mike Graham know any special requests. We will strive to do even better than last.
I came upon your video whilst looking up tatami armour. I was sceptical for 30 seconds, then saw your research, editing, clear descriptions and enthusiasm show. Great work, thanks very much, Gus
Awesome videos very informative, Thankyou for all the names and historical information. Also thanks for putting the website to the armour as I am in the UK myself so that helps 👍🏼
Considering you live in Hawaii adding the truck bed liner to the steel parts of the armor was a pretty smart idea due to how damp it must get there. I've seen the armor before but never heard the actual name of it so that was cool to know, I always love learning about history and seeing the differences in the various armors from around the world, they are all pretty iconic in their own ways.
Try baby powder, instead of flour. It hangs in the air better. I used to carry baby powder when I was a kid, in a trimmed down M&M bottle, before I switch over to modern pepper spray. Cheers!
i hope i interpreted this correctly but i thought it was very cool to find out that a ninjas clothes were made up of what everyone wore. i mean why not wear something like that so you wouldn't stand out if you had to capture, kill or steal right? then maybe by the time the woodblock prints of the black clad ninja came around the ninja had established quite the reputation and this visual representation in art was a way to reflect how formidable they had become in society...anyway, im glad i found your channel. be well!
Thank you! I'm making a new one soon about an inflated leather tube that ninja wore on the waist for floating. I've completed the object but I'm waiting for good weather and time.
+Shisei Dojo Bujinkan I made the sokutoki for myself and I don't take orders, but for the armor, the best prices and best service is samurai-armour.co.uk.
Nice video! I've seen your ninja camping video and I should say that it was pretty impressive but according to the japanese history ninja's and travelers used to built their shelters with natural materials and if they couldn't built natural shelters they would have a rain cape and make them into a shelter.
Yeah I don't have a rain cape but the camouflaged jacket I sewed from waterproof vinyl cloth. In the Bansenshukai where it talks about the "seven uses for the scabbard cord" it suggests using a kimono.
Tatami Yoroi does not mean folding armor. It refers to tatami - mats. Tye ninja suit comes from the plays the woodblock come from the plays That sokutoki is the biggest ever made. Too big. Nice workmanship on the bits you made
+David hill Of course I am wrong which means the armour restorer that I sat with and talked about armour with in Japan is then also wrong, But just in case your rigth lets make sure shall we. Tatami Gusoku 畳具足 (Mat armour) 畳 Tatami (mat) 具足 Gusoku (armour - coat of maile) Sokutoki Well having held at least 5 different ones in Japan I would say I knew the size difference. I am so wrong I am just brilliant. Dont believe everything you see on naruto, or in the natori Ryu or larping videos

I didn't wear the armor enough when it was colder this winter. Now it'll be too hot most of the time unless I drive to a higher elevation haha.

+Bugu Maker According to a Japanese dictionary, 疊 tatami can also mean to fold, like tatami juji shuriken, the folding cross shaped throwing star.
+Bugu Maker Is that you, Paul? lol
