We hope you have a great weekend!!! - Dawn & Diana
You enjoy organization so that others don't need to tell others where stuff is... You enjoy organization when you want to be the fun mum I guess
I was inspired by the story of of Grace to visit their site for gifts and they are sold out of everything! Goodness travels fast. 💜
Thank you for the book recommendation! I love giving my mom Kindle books! I think Becoming Mrs. Lewis is one we’re both going to love!
Dawn don't let people bully you. What is wrong with wearing the same thing as long as you like it and feel good in it. Why do people think they should comment on what you wear (unless you ask them to). I love you and Diana - you are both so sweet and honest and try to help all of us.
I agree.
If I could double-like, or triple-like, this comment, I would. Every time Dawn mentions people not liking her “uniform,” I feel like I need to jump in to cancel out that input. Not only do I not mind the “uniform,” I actually think it’s a brilliant idea, and I have been moving in that direction for myself.
Dawn you look better in the black tops
Seriously! Don't BUY things because of weird commenters on the internet 🤣
Are not sure she didn't ask for input? I thought she did. What comment did you hear that was bullying?
We lost all my children’s books during a catastrophic flood in 2020. The kids are all on their own now, and I’ve asked each to give me a replacement of their favorite picture book so I can have a mini library for when little ones visit. I think they’ll enjoy that “assignment”!
Oh what a simply gorgeous idea - can think of applying this in several ways for grandmothers.
Aww I want to send you a book for Mothers Day too. Glad you're getting that collection back together little by little. And now it's curated which is even better. I have a book recommendation that I can't not cry when I read it out loud to my little ones - No Matter What by Debi Gliori. Happy Mothers Day. ❤️
✒🥮For Mother's Day in 2008 (when I was 56) my mother wrote out all the recipes for our favorite foods growing up. She put them in recipe binders, one for my brother and one for me. She wrote all of them out herself in her beautiful 1st grade teacher printing. She passed in 2011. She gave us - her children a gift for Mother's Day. It is my most cherished possession!!❤
What a beautiful gift that you will cherish forever.
That’s beautiful!!
This is so sweet; thanks for sharing!
that's very thoughtful & cool! We have had similar requests except our customer(s) also wanted them printed on flour sack kitchen tea towel. Pretty neat to see some of the original recipes from a stained notecard show up the same on a kitchen tea towel.
❤😢
When my son was a baby, my mother's Day gift was a day to myself. My husband would get up and take our son out for a stroll. I would sleep in, then go out for brunch alone, go do a bit of shopping, a movie, a walk if the weather was good, meet a friend for dinner. At that stage, my entire life was about being a mom, so a day that wasn't about that was an absolute treat.
Wow! After all this time, I finally realize what had been missing - some time for myself! I have been a mon for 24 years. I believe it's time that I regain that identity as my own person.
When my husband realized what getting out to bible study one night a week was doing for my overall well-being, he practically pushed me out the door.
Even better if he joined you.
It could be just a women's Bible study. I have one, and my husband has one, and we attend one together. 😊
Haha, me too! I still feel guilty oftentimes, but I'm trying not to. :)
@@NdnUrbanCatthat defeats the purpose of time away for one's self.
My Mother's day gift request is always the same - help me in the garden that day (or a substitute day.) I buy the flowers and or mulch & our kids help plant & spread mulch. It is truly a win-win because I physically need their help & they enjoy seeing the fruits of their labor all summer. I don't want an item. I want time with them and their help. One year i bought a lilac bush and they planted it. The next year it was in full bloom on Mother's day weekend and we snipped some of it's flowers to enjoy inside!
P.S. the other ask is i don't cook that day. 😉
I've worked in a library for the last 17 years and I'll tell you what joy it brings me to see families come in see kids getting off tablets and sit down and read a book in my library
Cute episode. My family has learned that I love to do nada on Mother's Day. My family picks up breakfast tacos and coffee for breakfast, subs for lunch and Thai or Indian for dinner. I will take flowers and/or chocolate but not needed. Just feed me😊
Fun fact! I just made my first Bundt cake from your recipe book! The strawberry one! I got rave reviews on it! Unfortunately, I had decluttered my Bundt pan, but I was able to find another one!😂❤
The men in our church always cook the meal for a potluck at church on Mother’s Day, and clean up afterwards! I love that tradition!
This is SUCH a great idea!!!
My 16 year old daughter just made that, too!!! It was awesome!!!
I made the lemon berry one for Easter. It was beautiful and delish!
I just made the chocolate Bundt cake in a 9x13 pan. Holy smokes, it is awesome! I’d like to be alone in a closet with it. I’m already planning to make it for book club. And every single weekend for the rest of time.
Because I didn't want to feel guilty keeping or discarding Mother's Day cards over the years, I told my husband to use a journal and to have our kids write or draw something each year. It hasn't always been successful (husbands can forget ideas and even forget where an item is when it is in plain sight, haha!), but when the journal is filled it will be a sweet keepsake to look through as my 4 kids continue growing and changing
I LOVE this tip! I just asked my kids to make me paintings. And while they were very sweet and are brightening my room- it was a big, messy ordeal and will have to be discarded, eventually. The journal is so much better!!!
What a fantastic idea!
I'm 67 years old and still have such awesome memories of going to the library with my mother.
I agree on the loneliness for SAHM and care givers. I’m a care giver for my elderly father and it’s a hard season. Thank you for this video, ladies!
A gift I loved from years ago, newly married, money being tight... my mom would give me a flat of flowers to plant - something I couldn't have spent money on! She'd give me a combo of a few perennials (more expensive initially) and annuals. That gift would bring joy all summer long! She'd also give me a flat of veggies, to get a head start in our short northern growing season. We kept up the "tradition" years after she died - going as a family with the kids, then grandkids - to select a flat filled with treasures for our summer enjoyment.
Thank you for this episode. I've always loved the videos with the two of you together. It's always good for a laugh too! Somehow, I had a premonition that the pen holder was going to become a head band for Diana! Thanks for not disappointing and for taking it to the next level with the pen pantomime. :) This is my first Mother's Day without my mom who passed away last August. I was leery to click on this video in case it made me sad. But it was so full of fun ideas that didn't over emphasize Mother's Day and I found myself with a huge grin on my face while I watched it. Thanks for lifting my spirits today! Blessings!
I'm so sorry for your loss Nance and THANK YOU for your kind words, it truly means more than you know!
Thank you for the validation!! My husband is in the military and this is the third year in a row he has been gone 6 months or more. Our kids are 7, 3, 1 and our middle child is special needs. I’m beyond burn out. Love both of your channels and appreciate this encouraging content ❤
Your doing amazing! ❤
Wear what you please, your lovely smile, warm heart and wisdom are what we come for!
Omg why are people telling u that they're bored of your clothing!? Geez Louise...you're such a ray of sunshine & help us so much. ♡♡♡♡ u can go full on goth, dawn. I'd watch you for many more years (been watching for like 5 years now) ♡ if u guys are ever in nj or nyc I'd love to meet you and thank u in person xoxo
I would love a coffee date, an afternoon alone, a meal made for me along with all the dishes. No physical items needed
I usually ask for a gift certificate to the salon where I get my hair cut. I go there every 6 weeks or so, so it's always appreciated.
My grandmother watched my kids for me and when she did she would have them draw or put hand prints etc on a roll of butcher paper, newspaper print, or on a smaller scale adding machine tape (now I'm sharing my age lol). Anyway, she did that for about 10 years and then gave it as my mother's day gift. It has been the absolute best gift and I cried my eyes out!! I still have it and will pull it out to look out every year especially now that they are adults. A great gift to start with your grandchildren or for spouces to do with their own kiddos. Thanks for sharing all your ideas as well!! Happy Mother's Day!
Now, I'm crying😢❤
My husband and son spoil me by cleaning the house from top to bottom, putting out a bouquet of fresh cut spring flowers, and preparing a lovely brunch and dinner. (Homemade Parisian crepes, fresh fruit salad, risotto, wine, chocolate dipped strawberries, etc.) They do this every Mother’s Day (and birthday) and it never gets old!!!💖 Edit: Oh! And best of all, the Honey-Do list gets tackled that weekend. WOOT!😅🎉
All my kids and grandkids are coming home in May. We all live far apart. It's been about 5 years since we have all been together. That'll be my Mothers day and Birthday gifts! You two are so fun to be with! Makes me miss my sister. She lives in Scotland and I live Canada. So glad you could be together. God's blessings on you both!
I made a gift my mom really loved. I bought an inexpensive deck of cards and wrote on the faces of the 54 cards (including jokers), 54 Reasons Why I Love You. I made a draft list of the reasons (short and sweet) so I wouldn't repeat them. I used 4-5 different markers and just handwrote each reason on a card. I made a little decorative cover for the box and wrapped it beautifully. She showed it to everyone but would not allow anyone to play with the cards.
What a sweet idea
I did this for my husband for an anniversary once 😁
For a Mom who likes to play solitaire....think how much she would have each time! Terrific idea.
@@cindymcelya736 Great idea! I'll mention it to my Mom.
So many people are going to adopt your unique idea; how clever you are!
Dawn, you are the most genuine and open person. You have always edified as you shared your journey. I appreciate how authentic you always are. Your clear thinking is a blessing to us all. Sister dynamics are a pleasure to watch. I think you have time for clear plastic organization products at this phase in your life because you HAVE done your homework. You've earned it and won't abuse it. You fully understand what you need and why. These last 8 years of decluttering have given you the opportunity to enjoy clear plastic organization now. Have you seen Trinny London's clear plastic jewelry organization in Closet Confessions? She's not a minimalist 😅 I enjoy her lessons in dressing because her rules are free and pliable. I don't like systems telling me not to wear black, or whatever, but instead, how to wear if I do. As you have said many times, those organization devices are of no help if we have not pared down or "band width" to take care of them. In fact, as you have pointed out, they add to to the situation. Having to clean them etc. can be problematic if you don't have what it takes to do so. You've said it all. Bravo to you. You didn't grow up to embrace organization products, you grew into them only after you let it all go and kept it off. Now you can accept and enjoy organization materials as a useful tool...a very mature minimal mom mindset if I may say.. Thankful for your videos through these many years. They have helped me release wave after wave of items my family kept. I moved into the home I grew up in and that my father built. My parents grew up during the depression so many things were held on to. It's been a journey. Thank you for everything. It's been a pleasure.
This was a fun video. Dawn, I noticed your new top right away. It is lovely on you. The color is perfect and the pattern is beautiful. So glad you are keeping the butter dish. So thankful for both of you.
I agree about the top! So cute!
Yes, it looks very pretty on you. ❤
Yeah, I actually would love to know where you got that top.
Time and attention is what I want for Mother's Day. I have grown kids with lives and families of their own. We were a home school family. When they left for college, literally 24 hours later, they were hundreds of miles away. NEVER to be a unit as we were before they left for college, is depressing as all hell! I was so busy preparing them, I NEVER prepared myself. The last child left for college in 2013 - and although I have way fewer moments where the ache is as often or heavy... especially Mother's day... it still happens. The oldest child is now a Mother herself. I wouldn't dream of taking her away from her children. But the youngest is a bachelor, and I would really, really love for him and I to spend the whole day together.
Your comment put things into perspective for me. My children are young and all I wanted for this Mothers Day was to get away on my own. After reading your comment, I realize they won't be small for long, and later in life, I will be alone and wonder why I didn't take the opportunities I had at the time and my children will be under the impression that being alone is what I always wanted on Mothers Day. Next year, I will plan a "Me weekend" at another time and enjoy Mothers Day with my children. ❤
Mother’s Day had many emotions attached as my children were growing up. I wanted to feel appreciated and validated, and even though I talked about it, it did not happen. As a single mom, on a small income, there were no opportunities to shop, and of course, I would never actually ask for something. It was emotionally hard. I look back and realize I expected them to be mind readers. I wish I had taught them different. Now my kids are grown, I think of all the things I could have done, like make coupons for a back rub, etc. Today they are grown with lives of their own, sometimes I’ll receive some flowers, sometimes one will take me out for lunch. But what I would most wish for is for them to come over for a game night, instead of calling on the phone to tell me all their problems as a sounding board, and leave me with worries. I’m 76, never had the iconic breakfast in bed, but what I do have is some great kids and I’ve learned, if I want something, get it myself! 🌸
I so enjoy watching both of you, smiling, agreeing, happy, and you have a great mom. I wish all of you a happy and fulfilling Mother’s Day.
This is not a Mother's Day idea, but seeing your water bottle rack again reminded me. We use a wine bottle holder for our water bottles. I purchased ours several years ago when we were a family of 10. Thrift stores in our area always have wine bottle racks in a variety of sizes and decor styles. Just a thrifty organizational tip. 😊
I love it when you and Diana do a video together! Such happy energy!! I love not having to cook on Mother’s Day! My family usually takes me out to eat! Last year I suggested they get me perennial flowers I can plant in my yard that will come back to life each year! I’m waiting to see if the two we planted last year come back again!
Your beautiful sisterhood is my FAVORITE part of this video. You both exude such a grace, understanding and empathy towards each other that looks so fun and life enriching. I’d absolutely love to be able to have a sisterhood like this. God gave me Irish twins and another set of twins and so far they’re all best friends (ages 6-9) and we want to keep it that way through the beautiful grace and love Jesus gives each new day. Bless you two! 🩷
In The Netherlands' children give their mom planted flowers seeds. The little plants become in weeks flowers. At school they paint the cup were there in. Have a great mothers day! Annemieke
I absolutely LOVE our dispenser in our shower. It is amazing how much less product is used and it's so clean looking.
I agree! We’ve had ours up for five years and it’s still going strong. Best suggestion!
Hi Dawn & Diana… Here’s a great Mother’s Day idea: A couple years ago, I asked my kids to not get me anything - but instead, to pick out some flowers and plant them in my many pots so I can enjoy them all summer on my deck. It was AMAZING!! They worked together and created some gorgeous arrangements that made me think of them every time I enjoyed quiet time on my deck! I loved it so much that I told them to do it for me EVERY year! …so, no more knick-knacks to dust and my kids don’t have to figure out something I’d like (but don’t need)! And BONUS - the hummingbirds LOVE it too! Win-Win-Win!
Your post made me both smile and tear up. My mom and I had a tradition of taking a day around her birthday (May 7) and Mother's Day to go out and buy flowers for her planter boxes. We would go to lunch, then back to her house to plant them. Red geraniums were her favorite, but they had to be the True Red! She passed away 5 years ago, and even though I love the other colors, I always plant at least one pot of True Red geraniums.
That’s beautiful, Denise! What a wonderful way to honor and remember your mom!
Dawn, hooray for the Pioneer Woman Butter dish!! 😃 It IS a piece of art, and it's beautiful! And yay for your new gorgeous top! 😍 It looks so pretty on you, and it's so happy. (I'd wear that in a hot minute if I could find one!)
Thank you both for the great gift ideas. I do have a question, though. When giving gift cards, how do you decide how much to put on it? Is there a happy medium between "I can't afford too awfully much" and "They're going to think I'm a cheapskate!" . . . ?
Happy Mother's Day to you both!! 💐💜
You both are beautiful in every season and color!!!
Happy Mother’s Day to you both and all the moms in your lives!!!
Thank you for sharing your love, lives and ideas! ❤ Happy Spring!!!!❤️🙏🏻
It was so much fun to laugh along with you, lovely ladies. Great gift ideas. Happy mother's day to you both.
It's great to see you two together! We keep our house cooler in the winter too; of course, we live in Texas, so winter is a much shorter season here than it is for you. Fresh flowers and brunch/lunch with my family are my favorite Mother's Day gifts. Like you, Dawn, I would rather have an experience than an item I have to store in my house!
You two are so much fun to watch together. Thanks for the good time.
Dawn & Dianna, your videos are always uplifting and positive. I love that! Just wanted to let you know to hand wash your butter dish. Doesn’t take but a minute but helps it last. Happy Mother’s Day to you both!
Dawn, that shirt looks so good on you! The color is perfect with your skin.
Diana, you’re in a beautiful season right now… little ones are so precious & that time goes by so fast so enjoy every moment with them. Happy Mother’s Day, girls!!
You both are so funny together!! I love your laughs!!! Thanks for making me laugh out loud!😂❤
Many public libraries offer e-books and audiobooks that you can download directly to your device for free! It’s awesome!
I'm so glad you chose the colorful butter dish. Occasional pops of color and beauty help lift energy and mood.❤️
I like anything that is “perishable” (?) things that get used up. Fresh flowers. Food treats. Something that gets used up. So, you can enjoy it and then it goes away. Lol Time together is always good. Even mugs with candy. You can always re gift the mug for no clutter after awhile or use as a pencil holder or to replace ones that break…
Thank you for everything. I've watched for years and you are part of my weekly to do list, in fact you are so helpful you have reduced my stress level so much. I'm the person who re-watchs your videos when I need a pick me up or some motivation. So thank you and your family for sharing.
I like your cake stand, too. It reminded me that I have one that I hadn't been using it because I can't bake anymore. I almost gave it away. But, I decided to start using it for muffins, cookies and other baked goods that I used to keep in a plastic container on the counter.
The cake stand makes such a different statement! It makes the kitchen so much more inviting.
I love the new headband/pen holder Diana! 💖
I’m constantly doing silly things that not everyone ‘gets’, so I really appreciate your sense of humor!! 💕
I actually had a friend see one of these that holds about 4 highlighters and has a zipper on it. Love it!!
My daughter is taking me to an Ed Sheeran concert the day before Mother's Day. It should be great! I haven't been to a concert is ages!!
Mine took me to see Michael buble...best time ever...
I just love you two!! You make me smile and I laughed out loud when Diana put that pen holder on her head, lol 😂. Thx for talking about the Empowered Goods and Grace Flame…I love to give gifts that help empower women and help lift them out of poverty. So good!! Glad you kept the Pioneer Woman butter dish, I can tell it makes you happy and it will be pretty in your kitchen. ❤
My mother hated getting anything that was for the house on Mothers Day. She wanted something personal, meant for her. She burst into tears and ran to her bedroom the year we kids gave her a new bathroom scale because the one in her bathroom was broken and she had mentioned needing a new one. My dad picked it up for us little ones to give to her. She was deeply hurt. Lesson learned: no household items!
I totally get the burnout lonely thing about moms. Not a mom yet but I live at my job site, so I never leave except for Sundays and I am on call 24/7 plus I work by myself 95% of the time. I crave people time and the deep connection you guys are talking about. Connection is so so important!!
Yes! Use your library card! Free everything, even classes, dvds, books and downloadables! Love your ladies 💕✝️🙏
You*
Flowers in a vase or even better that you plant are always a good idea. A large potted plant that's already for the patio. Hanging flowering plants too. We used to have a huge family brunch for my Mother before she passed away. Everyone would show up. Flowers and Food and good Conversation - that's all that was needed to have a wonderful time.
My husbands and my anniversary is two days after Mother’s Day we are going with practical and getting new carpet for our living room, it’s much needed:)
Since my Birthday, Wedding Anniversary, and Mother's Day are close to each other for me, all I ask for each year is gardening supplies - soil, planters, and plants. No real clutter as everything lives outside. My daughter thought it was funny that I asked for cow manure this year, LOL.
Today was an especially fun time with y’all! Thanks for making me feel like we really are friends! Drop by again soon. 💐
Love when you girls get together. Sisterly love is the best. I'm so very happy you kept the butter dish. Off to listen to the next one you guys made. Blessings to each of you. I'm like Diana, when hubby was alive, well one he said I wasn't his mom so that was true. lol He did get me things when our children were smaller. But after they grew up, I even told them that all I wanted was to see them or schedule a time I could see them once they became parents themselves. If I wanted something I typically purchased it myself. It's different when yout own mom is still around. We would drive to see them (hours away) and I know that was all they ever wanted as well. Maybe that's how I appreciated just wanting to see my children when I could.
A really good and useful video but you left out making a BUNDT CAKE for your Mum. I am pretty sure every Mum would appreciate such a sweet creation. Easy to personalize too.
You've said in other videos before that instead of buying someone a gift, give them an experience/ time with you. And that's what I told my mom I'm going to do for her for Mother's Day coming up, and she's been so excited, she keeps talking about what a great idea it is! She gets to pick where we eat and we decided on something to do together, and we both agree that is way more special and less aggravating than picking out a gift item that she doesn't need anyway!
Love seeing you girls together :) Great gift ideas and fun chatter !!
I have 2 sisters that are my dearest friends. I think you are adorable. Thank you for sharing real life problems with uncomplicated solutions in such a fun and non judgmental way. Your suggestions for Mother’s Day gifts 🎁 are very helpful.
Diana, your talking about the library with your kids brought back really good memories for me. Our library has a children's story time during the week in the evening. When my kids were about 2 and 4 years old my husband and I traded off taking the kids to story time so the other could have alone time to do whatever they wanted. This proved hard on the one trying to keep a 2 year old quiet at story time so it ended up that we traded off taking the 4 year old to story time and the other parent stayed with the 2 year old to do something special with them. This was wonderful for all involved, We each got alone time with one kid at a time and the kids had some time apart from each other and were able to enjoy one on one time with my husband or me. We did this once a week for a very long time.
Hi Dawn and Diana, I love going to lunch with my kids. They are in their 20s and don’t see them everyday so this is my favorite thing to do. I don’t need gifts. 😂
Haha “butter dish saga” - loved it! I commonly fill the online carts of stores I shop at, leave it for a few days then delete most of it when I go back online, that way I can stop/reduce the chance of the impulse buy, before I even get to the store 🤩 Also, I love you in black Dawn 😍 Honestly you could wear a paper bag every video and I’d still love it 😂
Ohhhhh how I love you two together!!!! I laughed so hard at Diana’s new headpiece, lol… And at the end, when you said oh, Diana about toughening up. Always fun and thank you for the great ideas! Blessings to both of you and your families. 💕
For many years there was no budget for gifts so we got creative. The children would make gift coupons for mewhich would say "This entitles you to a free..." It could be a couple of these offers: a hand massage, a foot massage, a back massage, a facial, tea, coffee, breakfast in bed, clean a part of the house, etc. They would pick flowers from the garden and I could look forward to breakfast in bed and one or more of these lovely 'gifts'from one of them. Such lovely memories and times were had.
I’m taking my mom to dinner just us and the cat cafe where you can hang out with cats and have a drink. And I booked myself a facial.
You talked about reading. I think a great idea would be to give Mom a day at the library ALONE to check out as many books as she can read in 3 weeks (or whatever your library allows). When I was 11 my parents and I moved to a new town and receiving the Bookmobile schedule was the best "present" I every got because there was always a new schedule every few months and I could walk to the stops without needing help from Mom.
Also, my favorite birthday gift was the day my son-in-law proposed and my daughter said yes. This is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I'm hoping for a grandchild in the next year or so.
Great video. Can you do something for Father's day? Maybe you're already thinking about it.
Thank you for sharing this!❤ Looks like fun to do sister videos! 🥰 Spending quality time with friends/sisters/mom is the best kind of gift....especially because I don't get that very often.
Thank you for highlighting Mercy House Global! We ❤ their mission
I decided to create some rules around gift giving in general. I'm really not a curmudgeon, but things were getting out of hand. So ...
1) Nothing I have to dust.
2) Gifts must not create excess packaging debris. No wrapping paper, bags, boxes, ribbons, etc.
3) Prefer gifts that can be used up, like my favorite tea, hand lotion, etc.
4) My absolute favorite gift is time. When the kids were little it was time for myself. Now that they are grown its time with them that I cherish like going out for coffee or lunch.
5) Donations to my favorite charities are always appreciated.
6) No gift is a valid option. A phone call wishing me a happy whatever is perfectly fine. A card and/or a letter is great.
7) Please don't spend more than 'x' amount of dollars. It makes me feel bad if I know people have spent a lot of money. It's not necessary.
It's taken a while to convince everyone to honor my wishes, but now I look forward to special days knowing no one has spent excessive time or money buying gifts that I simply don't need. Keep it simple.😊
Butter tip! When the second dish is clean, put a stick in it also and you won't have super cold/frozen butter when the first dish is empty (also in a cold house in MN here)!
This is brilliant!!!!!!
Around here, a lot of moms go to the library on Friday mornings. Thankfully for me, our church was one of the first churches to be totally open and restriction free in 2020. Our families also got together a lot, and our family business never had to shut down since we are in the ag industry. Life was actually pretty normal for us the whole time thankfully.
You two are so much fun! I enjoy watching you both. Dawn, I am glad you decided to keep the butter dish. Yeah!
LOVE THE TWO OF U TOGETHER!! I always laugh!! Like the bookmark/pen holder. Put it on your planner too. 😊
I don’t care if you wear the same clothes or black whatever you like and feel comfortable in. I do think that top looks great on you though! Thank you for sharing so much great information, how to ect. I truly appreciate it and it’s so helpful!!! 😁❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
My mom and I are hoping to go berry picking at a local you pick farm. ♥️
One of most memorable Mother’s Days gifts was when my young adult children made me dinner and margaritas while I took a walk.
What a great list. Love the "pen/headband". I love you guys and I love your encouraging videos.
For years now, for mothers day, I buy the breakfast, croissants and others, for the family. I do it to for fathers day. Its always a joy to eat together, especially since I moved out.
I asked my husband for an apron (that I need and have been wanting forever) and for him and the kids to make me a treat. They like to make something for me and this is something that can be consumed 😊
I just love you ladies! I always smile when I watch both of your videos. My husband always knows when I’m watching from my smile and always says “ it’s the giggle twins”. Have a great weekend!
That's cute
Great to see you both. Last year was the best Mother's Day I have ever had. Our 3 children got sweatshirts that said "I love Mom", they bought me a banner, we went out for brunch and they all wrote in a book memories we've shared over the years❤️ our grandsons made bracelets for me. It was THE BEST.
This gave me goosebumps! I love this so much, you must be quite wonderful Susan!!!!!
It is so great to hear from you Dawn, I receive so much listening and watching your channel. You are such a blessing to all of us❤️we are the same- keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus the leader and perfected of our faith and following God's will every day. I am so grateful I found you❤️✝️
I'm with you on the little things that just make life easier. So valuable!
I love the library “Libby” app. You actually are using the library that you patronize in your community. There is a two or three week loan time and there have been times when I did not finish the book so all I did was return it and then request it again and I might have to wait for others but I get to pick up the book later. You can also manage your loans and post pone checking them out. I love patronizing our local library.
Ok, now I know this wasn't the intent of this video, but I really enjoyed the banter between you & Diana!! Please, let's have more of that. You still got the message across but I was cracking up with your comments to each other "Dawn would never get dressed everyday..."!! So enjoyable and informative too!
Just made two Mother's Day purchases for my Mom and sister on Mercy House Global. Thank you for the suggestion. This is absolutely an amazing way to show love and support. I know my Mom and sister will be so pleased their gift is reaching women and children in need, in the name of Jesus! God bless you girls!
haha Diana reminded me of when it was common for people to stick a pen behind their ear. You two are such a joy to watch! Thanks so much for your videos!
I am SO glad that you are keeping the pretty butter dish!!! So pretty!!!
Thanks for the fun video and great ideas! Happy mother's day Dawn and Diana! 🌷💐🌻
I love when my sons make something with their dad/my husband for me- a planter, a raised bed, a little basic end table- or do a big project- I’m thinking of asking them to pressure wash them stain our outdoor rocking chairs and rustoleum coat our chairs and table. Or a plant nursery trip to pick out some plants for my home (inside or out)
I took 2 pieces of my china and made cake stands for my self and my 3 granddaughters. I asked first if they would like it and all three said YES, that way i don't have to worry about making them feel obligated in taking all my China - also making Bird feeders out of the Tea Cups and saucers. They love it and if it breaks it breaks. LOL
I was raised that “home made” gifts are the best. So I’ve tried to carry on that tradition with my friends and make something homemade. I also, would NEVER turn down a gift card to one of my fave stores.
I like to send my Mom strawberries or popcorn or a crafty thing. She shares the treats with my Dad (he shares his too) and the craft item makes her take time away from other things to just relax - so I trick her into having some fun (my cousin's help cause they ask what I send).
I'm not a fan of Mothers Day as I lost my baby at 11 weeks 24 years ago and we had issues with infertility after that, but the last few years my friends have gotten me fur-mom cards / gifts and my hubby has done that over the years from our "kids". It's made me realize that not everyone has the same feelings about Mothers Day (due to loss on both sides, trama, divorce, etc.) and to keep that in mind. Gives me some peace when the day arrives.
Must say - I really like your ideas though... simple things are the best! And I vote YES to the nap!!! And if Dawn wants simple wardrobe - GO FOR IT!
My daughter-in-law and I both enjoy products from a local soap shop. We love trying new scents or sticking with our favorites. Lotions, shampoos, Practical, earth friendly and helping a local business!
I still remember my first time going to the library. My Dad took my brother and I and I have been a library fan ever since ❤. Yeah you kept the butter dish 🎉
Acts of service.. my son and wife got us a double shower rod and put it up for us last year. My most memorable gift!
I always love seeing you and your sister together.
Oh my gosh wear the same thing gurl! Helps me feel like I can pair down my wardrobe to a “uniform” !!!❤❤
