Shapeways is nothing special and will be replaced tomorrow.
Thanks for putting out this video. With the holiday weekend everything is up in the air with not knowing if folks are just not there to answer questions or if operations has stopped. Simply unknown. For now I am taking stock (literally) of what I have on hand, and what route to take next.

I'll stay with the Swiss Champ I have EDCed since I bought it for my 15th birthday in 1985. It has saved my bacon many many times.

1985 is the year of my birth. I feel pretty worn out. Wish I had one but victorinox is about the only brand I don't have in my collection. I'll have to change that asap

Definitely sad to see shapeway lose, I’ve been following them since their beginning has I grew my experience with 3D
Soo glad I ordered the Armored Holster from ZapWizard when they were first released. Easily the best holster I have ever owned.
All is not lost. Zap will zip around when least expected. We need competitions to keep the standard up there. Possibilities are endless when there's visionary rebels. ZW is king of mods.!

This is why I 3d print things myself, I'll happily pay for well designed files.
If he sells the stl instead, you could either print them yourself or use a service like JLCpcb or PCBway to make them. Its sad that Shapeways died but there are still options
Good thing Leatherman doesn't rely on mods for its success.
Thanks for mentioning my designs. I hadn't heard about Shapeways shutting down. I haven't used Shapeways for the last 10 years or so, as I was never happy with their print quality. Also, I prefer to avoid a middle man and produce my own parts. The main things they had going for them was drop-shipping, and a well known retail platform, but there are other companies already working to fill the gap. It won't be long before the designers who have been using them come up with another solution.

Sad news I have two Leatherman's. A PST that I got in the 1980's and a new Leatherman ARC. I have not used the Arc more than 5 times but keep it around because of the Holster. Tax write-off is probably higher than 5 million.
Like that sheath design at the start of your video here. If only could have it a full faced design for a Garage #5.
Kept asking Zap Wizard for a build to purchase, claiming it would be available before too long, yet never happened. Then saw Shapeways went belly up. Trying to get a leathercrafter to made an Arc/G#5 sheath with pockets for 711L Flex, LM Ratchet, Volty+ and perhaps have a small side area to add a couple of bits (no card).
This is shocking news he do did a great job. He also made a lot of things that were not multi tool related.

That arc looks as clean as a whistle, real lite duty use life.

Sorry to hear that. I got the hammer attachment and thumb thingy for skeletool and completed the tool - never liked the open end ,too flimsy.Didnt know he did scalpel holder for the Sog powerpint- would have been interested in that😢
@Maixo The scalpel holder for the power pint was made by someone else, that's what was great about shapeways. People, the community could sell their ideas.
Do you have a link to whoever makes them? The blade on the Sog is.... Let's say... Forgettable 🙏

I love skeletool! I have micra, wave, surge, charge, crater... some swisstools... sogs... a lot of chinese stuff... but skeletool is my favorite. I bought a hammer from etsy and made a mod myself. I added a scissor on my skeletool.

Your videos and reviews on mutitools are helpful in choosing tools that i will buy in the future. Altho some of the products may be deshelved or they won't make them anymore or deserviced still they help give me the information I need to make better decisions on what to buy and what I'm looking for

What is the big difference between having a regular blade and the original? I mean you don't have to change the blades and also most people who carry a multi tool also carries a knife. Just don't seem like a big deal

Sell all the junk and get a Victorinox Spirit X. You'll have a much better quality tool and money left...

Leatherman is done and gone for me anyway as a fossil only pushing for Highscores in price with stupid color variations. Proxon put the last nail in the coffin. But they have to start make things available outside US. That really annoys me.
