- WhiskyJason reviews Old School Malt 31 Years Old Signatory Vintage Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The Signatory Old School Malt was blended in the 1990s from 104 single malt Scotch whiskies of different vintages and matured further in sherry butts. The youngest malts spent a total of at least 31 years in oak casks.
These include whiskies from Ardbeg, Balvenie, Bruichladdich, Banff, Brora, Caperdonich, Clynelish, Coleburn, Convalmore, Dallas Dhu, Dunglass, Dufftown, Glen Albyn, Glen Mhor, Glenfarclas, Glendronach, Glen Garioch, Glenugie, Glenlochy, Glenury, Imperial, Killyloch, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ledaig, Littlemill, Linlithgow, Lochside, Longrow, Macallan, Millburn, Oban, Pittyvaich, Pulteney, Port Ellen, Rosebank, Springbank, Scapa, Strathisla, Talisker and many more.
The Old School Malt 31 Year Signatory Vintage was bottled at cask strength with 43.5% vol. No colouring or chill-filtration was used
Nice review, i keep kine closed for a while and when the time comes open it with friends. My currently favorite closed distillery is caperdonich, i have an 18 year ol heavily peated and was very impressed by it.
Really enjoy your reviews Jason. That bottle is pricey but nice to try. Am enjoying a Signatory 10 year Edradour tonight - absolutely delightful. Cheers!
Good stuff!
I almost bought this earlier this week, I'm very glad that I didn't.
maybe you would have loved it
Personally I suggest using the 30yo N.A.S from decadent drinks as comparison. Not only the price is similar, but that bottle used the stock from SV as well. 😊
thanks
If I bought this, and I might, it would be to pass down to my daughter. It is an encyclopaedia. Who knows how many of the distilleries could yet be mothballed 🤔 (when that bubble eventually bursts)... 😉
Great point!
Jason
I commend you for your honesty ..Ya don’t like it 👍
Top man ..way too many reviewers just say stuff is great …All the time !!!
honest independet reviews
A little pricey but never heard of it before.
Off topic but what do you think of Redbreast Missouri Oak’s pricing?
I love all Redbreast but passed on the new limited edition with its NAS and $200+ price tag. Kentucky Oak was fantastic and $109.
Tired of Midleton’s money grab.
Normally buy 3 bottles of Redbreast limited bottles as soon as they come out. I took that money and bought a bunch of bourbon and a few scotches instead of buying Irish.
Just curious on your take
My oldest pour I don’t remember the name but was a 60 yr old scotch I had in the late 1980’s.
Oldest one I can remember name was the Knappogue Castle 1951.
$199 is too much
