Thanks for sharing, Dan! Half way through I almost yelled at the kids when I realized they are filling their boots with sand, "Where are your parents?!?" :)
You are officially one of my favorite UA-camrs for the quality of work and value you deliver in one video. My only question is why in the heck do you only have 5k Subscribers? Did you just start?
@@teemohnayyeah, his page is full of fs5 footage. I'm sure you could of picked up one of those cheaper than the mark ii. What do you think about his zcam stuff. Seems like a much lighter way to go. Smaller camera, no extra recorder and 4k 120 with no burst mode recording like the fs5's.
@@shane6269 I shoot raw through the Shogun Inferno. The mark i does not come with the raw upgrade license. The fs5ii on its own was not a reason enough for me to buy the camera. But the combination of fs5ii and Inferno is straight up amazing. I like the zcam. But for what I shoot, the fs5ii been great.
Looks great man. I just got the FS5 and Inferno (and raw upgrade) and really can't seem to figure out how to get decent exposure shots. Yours look perfect. Mine are super grainy - especially when I try to put it in 2k / 240fps (it immediately goes way darker and I can't seem to adjust any exposure). Any recommendations? I'm super close to returning this thing but then I see your stuff and think there may still be hope. I'd love any advice at all. Thanks man!
Thanks a bunch man! Kewl! It's a really great camera. My biggest suggestion to you would be the following. Try to over expose your image by at least 2 stops when ever you film. The sensor loves light (as most sensors do) so keep that in mind. That should help out a ton with grain in your image. Especially in slow mo (240fps mode). I actually use a LUT on my Atomos that cuts my exposure by -2, that way I have a rough idea of what my image will look like in post. There is an awesome you tuber by the name of Alister Chapman who has some great videos on the FS5. That's where I started learning about the camera. I hope that helps mate!
Awesome, definitely checkin all that out. Definitely don't wanna return this thang but I'm gettin there. Really hope I find the saving grace here. Thanks so much!
Hi from France ! I’ve spend a lot of time in South Dakota, beautiful state, of my favorite with Wyoming. I would like to buy this lens for photography (not video) BUT I hesitate with the Samyang 12mm. (Also it is for Canon eos M5) Is there a big difference between theses lenses ?
Wow this would be a great! Thanks for your review I will definitely be looking into this because the Sigma i have is really heavy lol this would make it much easier to use on a gimbal. I finally made a video of the fs5 and shogun inferno called Aquatic, it was inspired by ur video ichor :D i would love your input on it, and I hope your back procedure goes well ^^
ASP PROJECT Dude! That is so awesome!!! I just tossed you a sub! Love the video you put together. It's fun working on projects like that. No pressure at all, just fun in a controlled environment, having fun with the camera. This seriously made my day! :)
looks sharp in the center, the edges have a bit of distortion and noticeable blur when moving. should have been priced around $200 as its main competition is sigma 16 1.4 which does everything for a wide angle - with an excellent af and sharp optics. great review by the way, appreciate it :)
I do find the price a tad high (in canada it ends up at around $700 CAD), i have the sigma 16 1.4 but that 8mm fov really makes me wanna get it because its not fisheye either :o
My favorite little lens! Astrophotography is unreal with it.
No way those flares are unreal?!!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg those flares! looks super crispy
I know right? It also has some beautiful flares when you close the iris down to F22.
Best review I've seen on this lens. Earned a sub
That was an awesome review and you answered all the questions I had about this lens. Thank you for your effort and time putting this together.
i got this lens because of you and blown away , thank you very much for your review 😍

Awesome review! Loved the shot of your dog chasing you in the snow.
Thank you! Yea, he is a little beast! Hard to chase around and keep in focus. :P
Thanks for your advice, is exactly that I'm looking!
Keep on going Dan! Great review, and awesome footage as always.
Thank you so much! :)
Your video, especially colour grading is top notch, IMO!
Fantastic clips! The dog chasing you was a super pro shot
Nice. Glad to see someone shooting this on an Fs5. Great video. Thank you much! You just convinced me to buy this for my fs5ii.
I don't think he has an "ii".
@@shane6269 He has a mark i. I have the mark ii. This lens works great on my camera. It just came in the mail a couple days ago. LOVE IT! Cheers :)

Is this a full frame lens?
hey dude
great video, i have FS5 too, i was looking for LAOWA 7.5mm , but looks like that it is not available for sony...any info?
Its for micro 4/3 only

Did you have to use the sensor crop feature on the fs5, because this is a MFT lens?
There is MFT and E mount version of this lens.
Hey! Hi, There! Does it fit on Sony Fullframe a7II?
It's an APSC lens
Hi, please also tell if this lens is with image stabilization? I am considering it to buy soon
Dude it's pronounced Lao-wa as in 'How-ya' doin.
However
Nice content but the awful muzak ruins it all
terrible background music doesn't add anything to your video, dude
