A big part of the problem with the unionist/loyalist community is the unequivocally taboo that exists with regard to anyone questioning anything (out loud anyway) which might go against their core beliefs. David Ervine transcended this and spoke hard truths and asked hard hitting questions about social issues etc. You are badly missing the likes of David Ervine.

I turned off once I realised that this was not an impartial and balanced program. Here we have an almost entirely unionist audience and Gerry Kelly being denied a chance to speak.
amyhuk LOL You really are delirious. Haven't you got that the wrong way around dumb ass? You, an immigrant planter from Anglo Scottish ancestry in my country telling my people to fuck off `back' to the Republic. It's true what everyone says about Unionists that they know very little about history. Now, fuck off back to Britain and get out of my country immigrant.
amyhuk LOL. You really don't know your history at all, do you? Another typical unionist delusional version of history. None of the Irish provinces existed as the provinces we know today way back then and Hibernia (aka Eireaan>Ireland) was entirely Gaelic. It was the Celtic raids from Hibernia into Caledonia (aka Scotland) and Northern Albion aka England that populated those regions at that time. This is why the Romans never made it to Ireland since Irish Celtic tribes were too busy warring against each other for control over Scotland and parts of England, which also included Cornwall. This is also what led St. Patrick to bring Christianity to Ireland (aka Celts) since by then the Roman Empire had mostly converted to Christianity and Patrick emerged from that. So, in essence, Patrick was the only Roman to set set foot on Irish soil. The Celts in other European regions had already converted, eg. Gaul (aka France) and the Gallic French. Patrick came from Gallic Roman origins, i.e. Roman occupied France and part of Germany.
amyhuk LOL. You really don't bother to do your research, as if research were needed. Where the hell do you get this laughable BS from? I suspect you invented it to make yourself sound clever. I hate to break it to you, but you've only succeeded in making a fool of yourself. Can I suggest you take a trip to a good library or do a course in history, idiot.
amyhuk Amyhuk. I have been a researcher/writer for over 35 years, since aged 15, most of which has been on the subject of the NWO. However, when I first moved to England from Belfast in 1994, I remember an ex paratrooper giving me a hard time in a bar due to some of his friends being killed in N. Ireland. When I finally relented, I gave him an objective lesson in history, mostly English history, he was surprised that I knew so much, curious to why they never learned any of it at school. He respected me as an Irish man knowing more about British history than he or any of his fellow country men know. I also know quite a bit about American history too. Btw, The Irish were the only ones to defeat the Vikings. Brian Borru took care of them, until a retreating group of Vikings sneaked up behind him and cut his throat.
And what is wrong with that? The show was set up to understand loyalist frustrations of how their British identity in a part of the United Kingdom were being systematically destroyed by mass murdering terrorists, who for over 30 years tried to destroy their country, and murdered thousands of British citizens in the process. If you have not lived in that environment then you cannot understand the hurt, pain and anger that the loyal British citzens of Northern Ireland now feel. They feel betrayed by their own British Government by letting evil terrorists into a position of power instead of rotting in prison, where they belong! Would the USA allow member od an Islamic terrorist organisation into their senate? Ofcourse the wouldn't, so please think before coming out with a view on a subject you may not fully understand or appreciate.
UlsterDarkKnight Northern is not in Britain. Whether you like or not, unionists are becoming a minority here now. Catholics have more children and Sinn Fein will eventually win an election, it's only a matter of time. If you want to fly 'your' flag so badly, go to a Britain and live there. Northern Ireland is a shared society, and simple fools like you are a minority.
NemoNobody2092 Northern Ireland is British as it is part of the United Kingdom, fact! If you are unsure, check the British Passport, which states 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' fact! If Northern Ireland is not British then how come I was born in Northern Ireland as aBritish citizen.... You also make the incorrect assumption that all catholics want a United Ireland, which is simply not true, most of them when it comes to a refferendum will vote to stay in the United Kingdom, as when all is done and said, they know they are better off in the Union than a bankrupt Irish Republic, fact! I have no time for people's ignorance!
UlsterDarkKnight United kingdom of great Britain AND Northern Ireland. Britian is Scotland, Wales and England. Did you go to school? Show me the polls that say catholics don't want a united Ireland. You don't even know what Britain is mate. Get an education.
NemoNobody2092 Me get an education? This coming from someone who is making an opinion on a subject you know nothing about. I would love a poll to be taken right now, as I know you would find the vast majority of the people of Northern Ireland agreeing to stay in the Union (people talk with their hearts but always vote with their heads). Sinn Fein/IRA asked for a poll, the Unionists called their bluff and told them to proceed as they were confident of the findings, and Sinn Fein/IRA backed down. That tells me all I want to know! lol

Donaldson seems to acknowledge at 21:55 that majority rule was in fact an excuse for Unionists to do as they pleased. Shame it only took him decades to own up to that reality. He also claims that he was always in favour of the peace process- yet he opposed the GFA for years (though was happy to take ministerial office on the back of it).
I think you misunderstand the Loyalist mindset . They see Irish culture that has been weaponised by the Irish Republican fascist movement. They are not opposed to Irishness or Irish culture just the Irish Republican fascist version of it .
Don't talk to be about the BBC, or as I call it the ABBC (Anti-British Broadcasting Corporation) who continually dish out documentaries and programmes that are biased towards the Irish Republican cause, and depict British loyalists as thugs and troublemakers, when all they are is passionate British patriots, loyal to The Queen and the UK, and want their British traditions respected and not attacked on a daily basis. These loyal citizens that the rest of the UK are quick to diassociate with, are the same people that would spill their own blood to protect the rest of the citizens of the UK, so don't judge them harshly, as you may one day need their support to defend our island's shores from a new enemy...

The British government couldnt contain the IRA for 30+ years, so what makes you think that the Irish government (who by the way are skint and relied on the uk government for an economic bailout) can contain the likes of the UVF and the UDA I can tell you, this it would be far from peaceful it would be the 70s and 80s all over again. and beforr ypu underestimate the loyalist paramilitaries (which is exactly what the Uk government did with the IRA), there are tens of thousands of members within the likes of thoses organisations and the OO, amd at the most there are 400-500 active dissidents, so its no contest really and in accordance with the good friday agreement i would love to know how the dissidents plan to swing the public opinion of a million plus people towards a united ireland through their campaign of violence because the provisionals (who had alot of support, which the dissidents dont) tried that and they got nowhere Infact any violence at all by anyone will get noone anywhere as the last 30+ years have shown.
Also the Province of Ulster was stolen from the native people which were Irish people so how can the loyalists complian that its going there way when its was there way for the last 300 years. so dont preach and think that its not right that the Irish A)They want back whatbwas stolen from them B) They want rights and respect in thier own country. people who think that it was right that the Irish people were supressed and beaten and inturned pleasd stop going on how hard it is to be a loyalist.

LOL... he's got nothing to hide & even if he did he wouldn't be able to hide behind it with lies because many would see right through it anyway.... but I agree he has always come across as sincere & honest... wish I could say the same about others in the Republican circles that he is with... there is one who still continues to deny his past to this very day...
nice to hear Daz and you should get up there to Stormont mate .....honesty goes a long way ....well said
A big part of the problem with the unionist/loyalist community is the unequivocally taboo that exists with regard to anyone questioning anything (out loud anyway) which might go against their core beliefs. David Ervine transcended this and spoke hard truths and asked hard hitting questions about social issues etc. You are badly missing the likes of David Ervine.
@@adrianred236 David Ervine was one of the greatest loyalists thinkers and leaders there has ever been. Sad he never lived long enough to see the fruits of his labour. Im a republican. But i had huge respect for Mr Ervine. 💚🧡

It's true what everyone says about Unionists that they know very little about history. Now, fuck off back to Britain and get out of my country immigrant.
amyhuk
LOL. Roman occupied France and part of Germany.
amyhuk
LOL.

Amyhuk.
Again, being pro british. Gerry Kelly was amazing in this. Our people look stupid. He was calm. Clearly a hostile crowd, but he remains claim.
Its not those who can inflict the most punishment , but those who can endure the most , will prevail in the end
This audience is 90% loyalist.

That tells me all I want to know! lol

Jesus this show was a disaster. Someone at the BBC wanted this to be a one sided debate.
UlsterDarkKnight Two men walk into an office. One is a republican and one is a unionist.
The unionist says "Jesus, this is a fine office. We'll share it 50/50."
The republican says "Fair enough. We're equals in this office."
So the unionist and republican start putting their things on their side of the office. The republican turns around and notices that the unionist is putting a sign up on the door.
The republican says "Oh, you're putting your name on the door? did you get me a sign too?"
The unionist says "What? Here you can't put your name on this door. This is my door. You're attacking my identity by asking to put your name up on this door."

It's not a criticism of your comment, but when you say: "difference in education between Nationalists and unionists" I know what you mean and where you ae coming from. But where an outsider may read this they could very well get the impression that one side was being given more resources which of course isn't the case. It's more the difference in "attitude towards" education between Nationalists and unionists (particularly Loyalists).
