The Irish language must be protected. So should Gaeilge, Manx and Cornish. Take a leaf out of Wales book on how we have been able to protect yr Cymraeg. It now has complete official status.
As someone from the Irish Republic, Could you please give into a compromise of having an Irish language act for fu*k sake you live on the island of Ireland. I lived in East Belfast for 7 years with my Irish registered car in the middle of a stronghold of a Unionist community and We got on. The asked me numerous questions about Dublin rule and I brought them to the Houses of Parliament in Dublin and they were delighted to see democracy at work and people being held accountable for their actions. Since my contract in Belfast ran out I had to return home to the Republic, But I return every year to Belfast since then and we are friends on Facebook and we get on. We even speak the Irish language when speaking over Facebook
02:10 In any multilingual nation there is it is a requirement made of people who want to work in the government to at least speak more than just one of the offical national languages. And this requirement is usually reflected in the recruitment policy of private enterprises, especially in companies who are active in multiple language regions. If this is undermining "Britishness" then there is not much to Britishness anyway.
Why bother if every conversation ends this way? You might as well take a vote for every generation that comes through the gates, because the people 40 years ago wouldn't even have this conversation. If you aren't ready to have the talk, leave it alone and just allow life to happen.
The political elite in North N.i shouldn't Get paid. (As there not doing anything ). Let's see if they move or get out there luxury detached stone houses .
Yes but what about the secretaries and other lower level people in the parties and what about charities funded by the politicians do you propose we cut their pay??
