THE TRUTH UNTOLD is based on “La Citta Di Smeraldo” It's the story of a man who lived in a castle and kept himself because he thinks he is ugly. because of his look he received a lot of hate and cruelty. He never opened his heart to anyone. His only happiness is to bloom flowers in his lonely garden.
One day, a woman came near his castle and picked his flowers. He was angry at first but eventually became curious and secretly waited for her to pick his flowers every time. Later then he found out that she was actually selling those flowers for a living.
The man fell in love with her but he didn't want to show himself, he couldn’t do it because he was too “ugly”. He keeps hiding behind his “mask” (lyrics: you know that i can't show you me give you me). So he decided to grow a beautiful flower that didn't exist on the planet so she could sell it in an expensive price. a flower that “resembles” her.
Eventually, he managed to fill his garden with that beautiful flower and waited for this woman to come, but she suddenly stopped coming. He then learned that she died. the only woman he fell in love with has died without him grasping the chance of confessing his love.
The last part of the song “if i got the courage to stand before you, would everything be different now?”.. if the man had removed his mask, and honestly revealed himself and confessed his love to the woman, would there be a chance for their love to bloom?
To fully love a person, you have to accept your flaws and love yourself first. let go of your insecurities, stop hiding behind that mask and reveal your true self because that’s who you are. It’s what made you who you are. You are not ugly, you are worthy of love.

Once Jimin lost his voice & he couldn't sing his part in this song. When Army realized it, they started singing his part for him. Jimin broke down in tears on stage. He said he cried because he was so moved. The next day he asked JK to sing his part with him because his throat hadnt healed yet. JK was more than happy to help Jimin. This proved 2 things - BTS operates as a family & they sure as hell sing live.

In one of the performances (it may be this one) Jimin’s voice was strained and he asked JK to help him by hitting the high note at the end. Seeing this live was beautiful. The whole stadium singing with them, many crying, it was beautiful .

Yay my fave!!! Thanks for this reaction vid guys. There are actually a lot of bloopers with just this one song. There was one where V forgot the lyrics and JK and Jin couldn't hold their laughter. Also one where Jin's voice cracked and JK pretended to be crying when in fact he's damn stopping himself from laughing. Lmao. Oh there was another one where Jimin improvised the last part and did not do it flawlessly according to him. But he did good the next day. Haha

This is my favourite vocal line song, it's so beautiful and they all get to shine, specially Jin and JK for me, Jin sings it so beautifully and Jk's harmonies OMG!! Also I get goosebumps every time Tae starts to sing and with Jimin's high note, they all SNAPPED!! There's another live performance I think it was Osaka I don't remeber exactly but it was daytime and there's a harmony JK does in Jin's verse that gets me every single time, I hope someone knows which one I'm talking about, Anyway, I love how you're using People's instrumental in the intro of your videos I've been listening to it non stop since D-2 was dropped.

I was brought to tears by their words and I could tell at moments some of the members were fighting back emotions, from tearing up too especially in these surreal and uncertain times we find ourselves in. I read down through some of the comments, as far as I got, nobody told them what this song is really about. It's not about not being able to show your real self to someone you care about. It's literally taken from a true story of a man in Italy who had a disfigured face and had to hide himself from the public in an old rundown Castle. His one happiness was growing the beautiful flowers in his garden until one night a girl was in the garden stealing his flowers!
It made him angry at first but he decided to put on his mass and clothes and follow her into town. He discovered that she was poor and was selling the flowers to try to make a living. The story goes on about and creating a more beautiful flower for her to take so she could make more money. And how he wanted to go meet her when he finally got the courage to go see her he went into town and discovered that she had died!
Mesmerising song and performance. We all feel this way and would be lucky to be able to be truly yourself with a special loved one.
