Hi Mr. Puzzle, I want to let you now that in English a steel ball like that is called a "ball bearing". I appreciate your very good English coming from your country! I am from the US but I have been teaching English in Bangkok, Thailand for about 10 years. Love your channel!
The concept is very galaxy brain to me. I know two main ways to open a water tap: one is turning the faucet (1st movement) and the other is pushing it down and it's not so easy because of the water pressure generally (2nd movement). A very nice metaphor in some way!
I love these puzzles and think they're very creative. I'd love to be able to give one of these puzzles to my son for Christmas. Unfortunately they're so expensive that it is not even close to an option. At the time of this comment the cheapest of the four puzzles is selling for $160 USD. With the water tap being the most expensive at $340 USD. From a consumer feedback perspective, these puzzles would have to drop in price by upwards of 300% before I would even consider these at the max of my budget for a puzzle.
4:00 Uh oh, he's getting out the notebook. S**t just got _real_ lol! Oh that is devilishly clever! That solution had me smiling the whole time you were explaining how it worked for how simple but genius it is.
Super clever solution. My theory was an "elevator" in the screw; a small hold in the side of the screw shaft that the ball fits in. turn the screw to change elevation and it releases into a different channel. Wondering how many puzzles have used that kind of mechanism.
Been binging a lot of Mr. Puzzle and Chris Ramsay over the last while. Its a tale of two cities. Mr. Puzzle quite literally notes of inner workings and reasons through puzzles while Chris, perhaps frustratingly, very much works off instinct/experience.
Dear Mr Puzzle, I am a big fan of your channel and your prowess. I would much rather hear the sound of your puzzling and big brain ticking than the music. Maybe not in every puzzle, but sometimes... Commiserations on the football. CONGRATS TO THE 3 LIONS!!! ❤️
I think, one of the major points of this puzzle are the nuts at the end of the bolts. If you just screw the bolts in and out, you think the ball can not pass the bolt, but it could. It is the nuts, that prevent the ball from passing. Once that is clear, it makes it clear, how the ball can pass at the top of the bolt (otherwise there would be no way to pass the bolt and your mind gets stuck...)
Interesting design choice to not use springs for the [spoiler] element: seems like the weird resistance from those pads might feel like unnecessary forcing movement, and the self-correcting resistance from springs would feel more like a natural puzzle component?
Not sure what awards NordVPN has won but after the way they handled a serious security leak last year I’ll never use them again. I can’t fault them for the security leak, but how they handled it... that’s not how a company should act.
I liked this one the most out of all three so far... But i am thinking the key might be the best on yet... Come one Mr.P lets see the Key ..do it ! Do it now ! No really lets see the last one of the series has to be the best one yet since it is the lastone of the series ... I think !
Without knowing the size of the bearing, I thought for certain that the trick was aligning the 2nd bolt's thumb 'wings' a specific direction. I thought that they drilled a small hole through the bolt that would allow the ball bearing to actually physically pass through the stem of the bolt. Clearly their intended solution is far more elegant. And now that I see the size of the bearing, I am pretty sure the bearing is too large (or the bolt diameter is too small) for it to pass through such a hole.
I'm thinking that the screws are connected to some tabs that raise or lower to either block or allow the ball to move, or maybe the screws have slots or holes drilled to allow the ball to move.
I figured there would be an additional hole in the brass tubing hidden above, that would be a third level of the maze. Where as the brass tube would need to be turned to the correct degree to create the space for the ball to pass through.
Would love to buy some of these but they're so expensive. Wish they were closer to $100 each instead of almost $300 US. I would definitely buy all 4 then.
