    I feel like a lot of these puzzles are solved by accident. You just fiddle around with it until something happens. I feel like it kind of defeats the overall purpose of the ‘puzzle’.

    • @pietvandiemen5521
      @pietvandiemen5521 3 роки тому +1

      While I do relate to this to some extent, you do have to actually know what tricks to use. If you tried to do this puzzle, would you be able to do it? I just feel like it can still be classified as a puzzle because you need skill to open/finish it.

    • @billtoo4694
      @billtoo4694 2 роки тому

      Yes, and no. They are called "monkey puzzles" for a reason. You fiddle until something moves, making zero assumptions. A good puzzle will have the solution in plain sight, but will require thought to make gains on what you discover by monkeying. Random movements will sometimes solve a puzzle, but sometimes move it from one stuck position to another.

    It seems like the forcing wouldn't have been necessary if something about the whole key mechanism inside was smoother. the type of metal and the patina like finish warranted for all the grease. Im jealous that looked hype af to solve btw.

    I just discovered your videos yesterday and I have been fascinated by how your mind works. I have none of your attributes for using the uniques processes required to tackle those damned things! After thinking about your patience, endurance (carpal tunnel??!) and "lateral thinking" I have concluded that you and others who are challenged by these puzzles and not inclined to use them for breaking windows, etc.would be extremely valuable on adventures like missions to establish settlements on other planets. I'm serious! Most of us would waste so much time and energy on complex problems because we just can't see things as you do. I'm so envious!
