I am currently watching this while doing my nails and the whole time I was just thinking, "wow I WISH I could teach with Lauren in first grade" and then I got to the section of the video where you talk about the writing superstar song, and you literally made me smile SO BIG!!!!! It was a nice little surprise that made me incredibly happy! Also that old man WILL smile at you one day. I was surprised when I moved away from the south for this sameeee reason. Holding the door open for someone got me a dirty look haha! Love you friend! You're doing amazing and I love hanging out with you! xoxo
That feeling is so mutual!! In my dream world, you’re my teammate and we co-plan weekly. Going to keep on waving at my friend and one day he’s going to wave back I just know it! Love you so much, inspired by you from afar always. ❤️
sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
Your waving to an old man reminded me of a story. When I was in school we had a grumpy bus driver. I would say good morning with a smile every day, and he would never respond. One day I didn't feel well or had a bad morning and just walked by wanting to sink into a seat- and he noticed I didn't say good morning, so HE DID! I was shocked, and it proved to me that kindness sinks in and influences others. This happened when I was in elementary school and I still remember it to this day- I'm now a teacher myself :)
You know, I’m glad that you touched on the old man walking as she drives to work! And your version of the same experience was touching. It’s only a matter of time, he will wave back! All I know is, if I went for a walk every morning, and a pretty lady smiled at me and waved whilst driving by, I would dislocate a shoulder waving back!!😄
@@charlesperez9976 lol! It is only a matter of time and even if he never does....you never know what battles he is facing. Maybe that wave secretly cheers him on. :)
You do what you think your kids need. I work as a High School Special Education Teacher and spend probably a couple grand each year on my students. And I am not asking for opinions, just praising you for being an awesome Teacher! My money. My budget, my business. 🥰
I have so much appreciation for teachers. If I could sum up this job in one word, it would be sacrifice. You do one of the hardest jobs in the world, get underpaid (in my opinion), and then in a lot of cases have to invest your own money in your classroom to ultimately make your job easier or heighten your kid’s understanding. If I was a teacher, I would absolutely do that too. It’s just unfair that you even have to. I work in IT and really have never had to buy anything work-related myself. Just so much respect in so many ways. Thank you for all that you do! 💜
45 minute long video and somehow it still wasn't long enough for me 🤣. I could literally watch your videos all day! I just LOVE your positive energy so, so much. I need that energy in my life more than you know right now so please keep posting often!!! Lol. PS. I'm not a Teacher (well I guess technically am. I'm a Pre-k Teacher) but I still find so much enjoyment from your videos. They're just so informative and fun to watch! My son is a second grader this year but I've been watching you since last year when he was in First and it's just neat to hear things from the Teachers side of things as opposed to the students. Love you, girl! Xo, Mandy
I get the using your day off to work:). Makes you feel so much better! People don't understand that teachers don't really get to work while they are at work... that happens at night and on the weekends! Thank goodness for summer!!
I feel the exact same way about being so behind this year! I’m constantly transferring resources digitally since we’re online. I am totally using this long weekend to get ahead!
Loved your old man story! I’m from Chicago and I say hi to strangers all the time! My school district is in hybrid now. We just went back last week. It’s the same for us, we still teach on our devices to in person and at home students. We also have Wednesdays at home for deep cleaning of school, so students have an independent learning day. We post assignments that student complete. Also, who’s clip art do you use? It’s so cute! Thank you Lauren! Love your videos as always! ❤️
I love the long vlogs keep them coming! We’ve been face to face since August (FL) and honestly some kids have missed 30 days from being quarantined due to being around positive cases. Hybrid sounds like a lot of work so I wish you the best of luck :) you make me want to work with littles again ❤️ your energy and positivity is contagious ☀️🎉
So excited to find a teacher channel with someone teaching in Massachusetts. I’m currently in school to be a teacher and I also work as a kindergarten paraprofessional for some experience and I am taking my early childhood MTEL in a few weeks then foundations of reading MTEL in March ! Very nervous! But once I pass they’ll be done!! Loving your channel!
I really enjoy your energy and obvious love for the students! 🥰 I’m a former teacher and now a mom and I appreciate all of the up to date tech you have. Also, I went to University in Florida and have family in Mass. Keep on making those great vlogs for us. 🍎👍🏻
Thank you!! Lots of time playing in google slides this summer - it has definitely gotten easier. I have a tutorial on my Instagram under the “My Slides” highlight. 🤩
Morgan Johnston No, I don’t think so. The copyright for clip art and backgrounds I use make things really tricky, and the slides are so tailored to the curriculum we use for each subject area. I don’t think they’d be useful the way I would have to sell them.
Hi! Another great video! I love how you stay positive in this difficult time :) Did your district provide the phonological book you showed early in the video or can I buy it myself?
I make google slides daily for my instruction as well. One day our school’s internet was out and I was so out of luck! All that work was wasted. Found out I should have downloaded them as a PowerPoint after I finished them to have a spare copy available on my computer.
Girl! Your school does not seem like they are giving you your contracted prep times! So much live teaching! I also teach 1st grade and we use Eureka Engage NY - its so fun to hear that you are teaching the same content that I am!
Amazing as always! I watch your videos on TV and my kids think you’re a legit TV show 🤣... you’re famous in this household. Quick question: Where do you get your Fundations slides (specifically the ones with the sentence frames and the word practice like the glued sounds, not trick words lol)? *Also, thank you for answering my last question about reading levels so respectfully for both myself and your students. I wish we didn’t have to do running records and reading benchmark assessments (especially this year), but I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one noticing the shift due to the current state of our education system. You are a truly amazing educator and I’m so glad I found you for inspiration and motivation!
+Putting Them First Lauren , First off , Thank you for your classroom vlogs . I really like seeing your smiley face especially in the times we are living in right now , and trying to keep a reason to be optimistic about the future . Second , Here's the rainbow for us Gators . You said it exactly the SEC Powerhouse and that will make people respect the SEC being that the national champions are in the SEC right now and that can give Our Florida Gators an open door to something next season . - Dwight
I love your google slides and your phonics word cards! Reading some of the comments other viewers are wondering how to get them. Did you create the word cards or are they part of your district program? Did you make your google slides background?
The phonics cards are from the Wilsons Fundations curriculum. I make my google slides using backgrounds and clip art from TPT - there’s a highlight on my Instagram page called “My Slides” that talks through it. I can’t sell them for copyright reasons. 😊
Do you mind telling me what part of Fl your from i'm from Plant City but we had to move about 14 miles from the Florida caverns. Also, you could do 3 rows of 3 desks and split the bins up to 3 x 3
I think it’s the Fundations curriculum for reading and spelling, which you have to pay for to get access. But you can find some Fundations activities on UA-cam and there are some teachers who do their Fundations lessons here on UA-cam.

I’ve purchased reading A-Z for years. I love it! This year I upgraded as well. I’m hoping to convince my principal to purchase it for next year.

Can you make a video about some of the activities you do for your virtual interventions.? How do you track progress?
