In 1999 Johnny Snyman established Heartwood Bows in a small South African coastal town called Sedgefield.
As a professional bowyer and a remarkable archer, his custom built bows have carried their mark of quality all around the globe.
Johnny has been instrumental to the initial introduction of horseback archery to South Africa, and has also pioneered and introduced the thumb release shooting technique in South Africa.
Since '2000 Johnny has provided his expertise and services to the film industry. His archery equipment, technical advisory, cast member training and stunt shooting has featured in films such as:
