I sure do feel for Elizabeth, she had lost both of her parents with her father having been unjustly murdered along with one of her brothers, she also had to suffer through the death of both of her husband's as well several of her beloved children and siblings, now the fact that after all these tragedies she still kept going and tried her best to protect her family and their legacy speaks volumes of who she was and her inner strength.
gosh this is so raw, cuts right through the bone, you know? perfect song choice for a perfect tribute, especially given that asoiaf was heavily inspired by the wars of the roses
@@lidiareyes7048 Princess Diana was descended from George, Duke of Clarence and Isabel Neville (Margaret Pole has many descendants), too. Diana also descended from Charles II's bountiful bastards twice over, so there's a double dose of Edward IV's line from her, as well as through George, Duke of Clarence. Even commoner Kate Middleton descends from Edward IV through one of his bastards by Elizabeth Lucy née Wayte. About 70% of Britain descends from Edward III alone. Only Richard III and Anne Neville's line died out. John of Gloucester, Pontefract Bastard (born during Richard's teen years, made Captain of Calais by his father and quietly executed alongside Perkin Warbeck and Edward of Warwick), Katherine Plantagenet (old enough for marriage in 1484, though seems to have died young) and possibly humble, but unusually educated bricklayer Richard of Eastwell (who kept his identity quiet) are not known to have had descendants. His only heir, Edward of Middleham, of course, died as a child. Richard and Anne were raising John of Gloucester, Katherine, Margaret Pole and Edward of Warwick alongside Edward of Middleham. They took in George and Isabel's children after they were orphaned, as well as raising the illegitimate children Richard had as a teenager. Seems they were making up for the children they couldn't have together, likely due to Anne's tuberculosis that eventually killed her. They were vividly described as distraught over Edward of Middleham's death by the Croyland Chronicle and Richard had to be told by doctors to stop sleeping in his wife's bed as she died from consumption. Edward of Warwick and Margaret Pole spent 5 years of their childhoods raised by Richard and Anne. And given that Edward of Warwick was 1 and 2 when his mother and father died, Richard and Anne were probably the only parents he remembered at all until being locked in the Tower from the ages of 10 to 24 with barely any human contact until he was insane, then framed for an escape attempt through an open door and execution (a stipulation of the marriage negotiations for Catherine of Aragon). Margaret may have had some vague recollection of George and Isabel, but she herself was only 3 and 4 when they died. Richard and Anne were the closest either ever had to parents.
i don't understand how people can say Richard loved Lizzie when he kept her prisoner at Sheriff Hutton. I mean that isn’t love. That’s holding someone hostage.
Ok! That's just killed me. I don't have to say that well... so many deaths in their lifes and no beacuse for some kind of illness mostly. Last scene with Richard and Elizabeth is amazing epilogue to this video, beacuse in the beggining of this masterpiece there's scene with Elizabeth and Edward to lyrcis "one who has loved here the most". The same word in the end with R&E! i love it! And I am going to share on my instagram @Princess.of.York
