    this sounds amazing for recording. Forget about finding answer to "does it sound like an electric?" or "does it sound like an acoustic?!" questions. What I hear is variety of awesome usable sounds.

      If you're going to record an acoustic, you'd just mic up a real one. This guitar doesn't sound like an acoustic, instrument, it sounds like a piezo.

    I'm not the biggest fan of these, but this demo is definitely the best I've seen so far. It's the only demo I've seen where I don't hate the sound. All other demo's I've heard, they sounded modulated and not as good as the real thing, especially for the price range.
    The idea I think is great, and I own and love my Taylor T5z.

    So I have one I really do love it. For playing life and the number of sounds you get from it is great. I am not sorry I got it but it really has a lot of downfalls that needs fixed.
    First it comes with a very shoddy gig bag. 3 of them had to get shipped to me because they couldn't survive the shipping. The gig bag is really barely padded. At this price hard shell case should be a.must. if not, a much better gig bag. PRS gig bags are awesome copy them.
    Locking tuners. At this price and no locking tuners. The tuners are also strained and bend back towards the neck. While we are on the tuners and strings. Acoustic plastic pins for the other end. These suck. Hard to get out and then hard to stay back in. Could have put a secondary block of wood to hold the ball ends so we aren't messing with these pins.
    It's a little neck heavy. This thing is really light which is great but the neck end is heavy compared to the body. This causes you to hold the neck up while playing.
    Other than those issues it's really a good guitar. I don't regret buying it at all. I have had a lot of fun with it as well.

    • @MarkDyson
      @MarkDyson 5 років тому

      Read your appraisal with great interest. I have a few PRS models and I agree their gig bags are top shelf. Hope my Acoustasonic is spared the travails of yours and arrives in one piece! I personally prefer a good gig bag to a hard case and was hoping for better from Fender's take on them.

    • @V4D2
      @V4D2 5 років тому

      Being neck heavy kind of puts me off a little bit.
      But I am still very interested in playing one of these. Would I still be better off with buying a ..say.. a Godin and a traditional tele?
      Or a Martin, for eg?
      I like this new fender because I am a songwriter that plays a LOT of acoustic, but I really like to use heavy tone electric on top.

      Agree. Migrating into that market niche would signal the design was considered a success. I'm all in on guitar design enjoying innovative new approaches. Some will succeed, some will fail, but the only guaranteed failure is not trying.

  • @MarkDyson
    @MarkDyson 5 років тому +2

    Great stuff. This is replacing two of my guitars that have just become obsolete (literally: I just traded them in for credit towards getting one of these). YMMV but after weeks of review I love the tones and the look, the price is fair for what's going on under the hood, and it's going to become my gigging staple. Counting the days until my order arrives. It's not for everyone, of course-so if it doesn't appeal to you just don't get one.

    Bought a pre-loved one of these (in immaculate condition) which cost £1045 (was 1195 but traded in a guitar as well for £150). So now got a Taylor 412ce-R and a Fender Professional Strat (HSS) along with the Acoustasonic - feel that together that covers a lot of bases. Guess it a “marmite” guitar - you either love it or hate it. I love it! Not sure I would have paid full price for new. PS bought on finance so one of the questions in the shop was “are you married?” My reply was “at the moment yes, but maybe not when I get the guitar home”

  • @31turnip
    @31turnip 5 років тому +1

    What about the Fender Roland strat, that thing was great. It was a plain strat as we all know them but then you could switch to different acoustics including 12 string, nylon and resonator. It also did tele and humbucker sounds while also being able to switch tunings! AND IT LOOKED AND PLAYED LIKE A STRAT

  • @cieranbrown

    Omg I’ve never fallen in love with a guitar at 1st sight! Can I have one pretty please 🙏 I would never need to buy another guitar in my life! I’ve had an autoimmune condition for 15 years (no joke), have not worked in all that time even though i had just graduated from uni pre-diagnosis and my mum recently died. I’m seriously broke, was very nearly made homeless and could seriously do with some good karma to get my mojo back. I own 1 guitar - a Simon & Patrick SP 6 spruce which I have played to death for over 20 years since I got it for my 16th bday and it’s like an extension of my arm - but I’ve reached the limits of what I can do with it. I need something like the acoustasonic to expand my horizons and improve my playing.
    I know it’s a long shot but thought I would ask anyway. Love the videos so keep up the good work guys 👍

    • @cieranbrown
      @cieranbrown 4 роки тому

      Or to be honest the strat version would be equally as amazing - not that I’m likely to have any joy. I feel like I’ve got my cap in hand saying ‘please sir can I have some more’! All the best chaps

    I think this is a cool guitar which will take a bit of time to get used too. For me, I’ll stick with my Martin OM28E and John English built Nocaster, but I could be tempted by this with 10's rather than 12's. It certainly looks the part, much nicer than my T5.

    Idk if anyone else listened to this with subwoofers, and deep ones, but whoa. I think it was that pickup inside. Anyway something was rattling my house in this video. And I don't mean that in a tone sense or a musical sense; I mean something was making subsonic noise throughout, I think it was the pickup inside.

    I love the concept of these and the plugged in acoustic sounds are pretty good. To me the electric sounds don't sound much like a real Tele at all. I guess they would be usable live if you just wanted to use it every now and then. I'd probably get one at half the price but I don't see the value, as others have said you could get an acoustic and a Telecaster that both sound better than this for the same price.

    I kinda liked the aesthetic parts, so that's why I came here, but it seems really cool. Switching those pickups may be a little hard at first, but I would like to try. Seems like a gear I could buy (however it will be about R$15000 probably here in Brazil, aprox. £3000, so I wont buy it, unfortunately).

    It's a "front man's" guitar... more than a guitarists guitar. I think they fill a niche for players who gig or maybe song writers...any role where the versatility would prove handy.
    But they dont really replace any of the guitars they emulate because they rely a lot on an amp.
    Fender will have a MIM version or maybe a Squire version at some point....and probably a Strat style also.
    I dont hate them and I dont love them. For me they are somewhere in the middle.

      You could be right about that and I agree.
      Hey, maybe if they fail... we'll be able to pick one up for under 500 bucks someday : )

      I was picturing country female singer-songwriter touring artists. Dixie chicks/Taylor Swift

      I'm a solo act, mostly acoustic, and do my own vocals. The idea of being able to bust out a solo (think, Let It Be) in the middle of an otherwise-acoustic tune has a lot of appeal, and I already have one of these on order.

      Mark Dyson I think that’s a good use of this guitar.

    Fantastic playing - but I've got to say I was a bit underwhelmed by the sound of this guitar. Perhaps the tone doesn't come across well on the video(?), but it just reminded me here of a cheap round-back Ovation with none of the warmth I want (and expect) from an acoustic. That's a shame, because I think it looks stunning.

    4 minutes to get to hear the acoustisonic and a relevant comment. They are sure putting around in a mid 20th century easy living time-zone. I wish they also had grasp of mid 20th century music

    Eddie Van Halen and Malcolm Young achieved that acoustic effect long time ago by removing the neck pickup 🤣

    They should string the e a and d strings with bronze strings and the rest with electric strings
