"Just like the simulations!"
Privates and specialists cant even remember to put batteries in their red dot sights or NODs. We spend all this money on fancy stuff and my unit has to cancel training events because we are broke.
Ah hell nah, literally every training field I've gone to they straight up tell us NOT to put batteries in them shits, don't stick that shit on us lmao, I do better with irons/just a peq15 anyway, and trying to set up a triple strand with NVG's is torture
It was dark enough out to not be able to see who was there, while we were doing an EQT I said to my CO, "It's so dark out I couldn't see dick if I was a BBC Porn artist", and that NOD on my ACH didn't help one fuckin' bit to see him lmao

Looks like Land Warrior is starting to pay off. Wow.
@L3Harris Technologies that's all great and amazing but can we have the audio track as well!!!??????
This'll be nice for pilots and drivers too. Threat identification, effective communication, etc. are imperative for keeping yourself and your passengers, cargo, or payload safe. Imagine being a transport driver or even a tank commander and having an IED highlighted in the road, or having an ambush's worth of personnel highlighted before you get there. Being able to see through smoke is important as well. Pilots will have an easier time spotting highlighted ground forces, vehicles, and other threats. This system has great implications although it seems as if it'd be better to give to the guys in charge of machines rather than infantry.
It doesn't work that way for drivers or pilots. Thermal imaging cannot see through the glass windshield
@@joewboe That is true, but part of the capability showcased is the ability to link the visor to external optics like gunsights and cameras. Vehicles would benefit immensely from having view-thru thermals on a driver or gunner HUD a la F-35. Obviously wouldn't work exactly the same but you get the picture.
This is the most insanely cool thing that I have seen since the F-22 Raptor. I'm very proud that your company is in the United States. (Thank GOD!)❤
This man literally had “squad lor” on his plate carrier lmao
Wow This is sick shit. I feel like I had caveman technology with my AN/PVS-14’ back when I was an 11B from 2008-2013. I would of loved to have a pair of these when I was in Afghanistan from 08-09 and 10-11.
Thank you so much for your service youngster!!❤
Right, I remember getting a s***er $2,000 GP pvs14 in 2010 on deployment, and now we have this stuff, probably still not being fielded, though, knowing the government, we'll have conexs full of this stuff and be throwing it away 20 years from now 😂 I don't even see SOF using this stuff
These are nice but we only ever use the 42s by themself, way better than pvs14s tho.
Elbit Systems The selection of the ENVG-B systems by the U.S Army is a testament to the quality of Elbit Systems of America’s technologies and their unique operational
This isn't Elbit. This is L3 Harris, formerly L3 and they use ETO tubes because that's the business they kept when Harris acquired L3. Do you work for them or something? The ETO tubes are great, which is why Harris kept that business. Even if Elbit wins some work it will be built in the US.
Elbit lost. Check the US Army web site. That states the contract was awarded to L3 Warrior Systems. That must be because Elbit weren't good enough.

@@aerithofmyoreOn October 12, 2022, Elbit announced that Elbit's US subsidiary (Elbit Systems of America LLC) has received a contract worth approximately $107 million to supply the US Army with the ENVG-B night vision device. Lol, you underestimate the ability of a grunt to break any piece of gear.... That is if a grunt even gets them. They of course will go to finance, cooks, and any other pog MOS long before seeing a battlefield.
Yeah, no way in hell these are going to your average private. I'd say their usage will be limited to SF mostly. If they ever do get rolled out to non-SF troops, I'd say it'll probably be something that only 1 or 2 soldiers per squad have.
It won't go to non-combat troops, probably won't even be fielded seeing as there's already better systems being developed. You don't even see SOF with this stuff. Everyone is still using s*** $2,000 GP pvs14s unless you're SOF and you get a nicer pvs14 or binos / quads
You need to do this to the gpnvg and it will be better
I wonder how this is in the dust for a humble driver, I bet this would work really well. Anybody have intel on this?
I would wager they can’t be used for drivers. The glass window will block the thermal camera. The PVS-14 will see right through, so you’ll still have night vision. But it will superimpose the outline of yourself and any other occupants in the vehicle on your display as your heat reflects off the window in front of you. So essentially it will give you two conflicting views overlapping. One outside the vehicle, and one inside. To operate a vehicle safely you would probably have to turn off the thermal system and drive by PVS-14 only.
Wonder if any tough was given to hacking. Like in theory, you could outline "ghost images" if it's Wi-Fi enabled
First of all it’s not WiFi enabled. Also they can’t be hacked, that makes no sense, they’re not connected to a public network, you cant access a two way communication network between two devices like Goggles and a Scope
@@FacitOmniaVoluntas. I'm not even going to dignify that with a proper response.
If I wanted a music video, I'd invent a time machine and go back to 1985.

I don't think there's ever been any desirable technology that was stopped from dispersing. Nuclear weapons started with just the United States, but now just about every country with the desire (they are controversial) and budget has some.

@AlmightyTwee War has had ups and downs like economics but to the best of my knowledge it's never become futile and gone out of business. Please correct me if wrong but in the non spiritual world we have 3 layers of war: economic, information, and kinetic warfare. One, some, or all are continually in business and never really dissappear. They just become more grey, complex, and efficient. They constantly evolve. The A-bomb did not make atomic warfare futile ask the Japanese. It only changed how nuclear wars are fought by creating balance/imbalance cat/mouse game in the Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) Doctrine practiced daily by US(SLAM/Crowbar)/Russia(Poseidon)/everyone else with nukes and ideas.
These enhanced optics will not make war futile, it will simply change how it is fought.
From 1955-1975 a bunch of skinny as a twig little Charlies in Vietnam with straw hats working rice patties decided that war against The most technologically advanced Superpower known as the US was not futile.
From 1979-1989 and again from 2001-present malnourished determined little ragtag groups of dunecoons with flip-flops and IEDs made from donkey turds and diesel all got together and thought it wasn't and still isn't futile to go to war against 2 of the most technologically advanced superpowers. USSR and USA. Hell throw in virtually every other superpower from history for that matter and it's why Afghanistan is called the graveyard of empires.
From 1775-1783 and again from 1812-1815 a bunch of back woods rednecks from the Colonies/US decided that war was not futile even though it was against the most technologically advanced superpower known as Great Britain, plus Ireland and its dependent colonies in North America and Indian allies depending on which war.
I pray for a day when God returns to heal our species' broken hearts and the world our species repeatedly wrecked like a spoiled brat who's found their parents booze and car keys. Until God does return know that humans are the most dangerous species on this planet. War will evolve but unfortunately never become futile until God returns. So until you hear angels singing remember to arm, and train to defend yourself against the most dangerous species in the non-spiritual world. Same training advice goes for spiritual world too.
Please correct if any of this is off target, even by a little.
Always willing to learn and adjust/shift fire for better accuracy.
