@@MichaelCGrayPhotography I really like your videos. Thanks again for the upload. I'm not able to get as good results as your low light footage. Did you shoot solely on 4K 60fps?
You use it the same as if you are standing/walking etc. If you are sitting and want to film yourself hands free, you can mount the camera to a tripod. Like I did on the Freewell wide angle lens video. If you want to see yourself in the LCD display, simply use the camera in selfie mode.
Nice video. I have the Pocket for quite some time and It's getting better with firmware updates. I wanted to replace my old GoPro Hero 3+ for my scuba diving activities. I ended buying the Osmo Action and that also is being improved with firmware updates. Some really bothering issues were solved with the last update.
Thank you. The updates have really made some great improvements. Have you picked up the underwater housing for the Osmo Pocket? I thought about the Osmo Action, but I'm not actiony one might say.....LOL
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography yes, I bought the Pocket underwater housing but haven't tried it yet. That was before I bought the Action and the dive kit. One day I saw the Action with 100€ discount and I bought it. Now, I will be scuba diving in the Maldives in October 2020 and I will take both cameras. If I go to the Caribbean in March/April then I will take both cameras scuba diving.
Nice discount on the Action! I have thought about the underwater housing, but there is literately nothing in the fresh water near where i am. I love snorkeling, but haven't done it in years. When I go on holidays, it is typically Walt Disney world and Universal studios. Not much opportunity to do underwater videos.
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography I bought the housing for Scuba Diving but I haven't dived this year. Next year I will do some dives. Last year I dived in Nassau (Bahamas), Roatan (Honduras), Cozumel and Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Merry Xmas and a very good 2020 to you and your family.
Nice video. I’ve had mine for about a year now and I really love it. Makes a good b roll camera too. I recently got the freewell wide angle lens. It’s a fairly new product and does not have any of the distortion the previous wide angle choices had. The latest firmware update also lets you start up and shut down with a lens or filter attached. Looking forward to seeing your accessory video.
Yes, I have had mine for a bit to. Totally agree about the B-roll camera, it comes in very handy. I have used mine to do some B-Roll on my videos. The focus and tracking are so much better now. This is my first DJI product and i must say, I like the company. They are continually working on their products to make them better. I was looking at the Freewell lens, it would be a really good tool for Vlogging and now they have done the update, no more camera shake and the startup and shutdown is nice. I'm hoping Santa is leaving me one for Christmas ;-)
Very good 👍🏻 i have the Osmo Pocket now for some months and i am very happy about it, because it is so small and the quality is not bad 😁👌 i made some shots in my IRELAND travel video with the Osmo Pocket 😉 best regards from germany and keep on your good work 💪🏼
Nixe video man 😁 if you uploaded this when this was released you would probably won a lot of views and subs, anyway, i want to ask your opinion 🤔, i know they are differents things but do u think Osmo Pocket is better than GP hero 8 ?
Thanks. Didn't really think about the channel when it came out, only now working on my channel. As for the Osmo Pocket vs GP hero, in my opinion they are two totally separate types of cameras. The GP is a true action camera and the Osmo pocket is not. If your into a lot of action, underwater, etc then the GP Hero I think would suit your needs better. I think overall video quality and sound quality is better on the Osmo Pocket. I looked at Gp Hero when I bought my Osmo Pocket, the pocket fits my needs perfectly. A better comparison for the GP hero 8 would be with the dji osmo action camera. Sorry i don't own either of them to say which is better.
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography Thanks 😋 what i like of the osmo is how easy to make blogs/cinematic shoots, but i would like to do POV videos too so dont know What to buy 😵
Like I said if it is real action type POV you are after (dirt, mud, water, etc flying around) then the GP Hero or the DJI action camera maybe a better choice. The osmo pocket can use all the same mounts as the GP, so POV is fully possible. In my next video I will show the accessories I have. I will be missing a week, due to Christmas.
Yes, that is basically what i do, shoot at 60fps then slow in post. Here is another thought now they have updated the firmware, use the slow motion with the wide angle lens on. Hoping Santa brings me the lens to try that out.
It was all Automatic settings. I wanted to see how the camera handled it all by it self. if I was going to use manual settings my shutter would have been set at 60 (as I was filming at 30 FPS) I would have played with the ISO and EV to get the exposure I needed.
Wow those colors in the low light scenes are striking! I'm really impressed by this little guy. I can't wait for part two!
I was really impressed to. next video will have the accessories that i have bought.
Very nice low light for auto setting. Thanks for the video Michael.
Your welcome. I love how well the low light worked. All I did was hit record and then I was truly amazed when I played it back on my monitor.
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography I really like your videos. Thanks again for the upload. I'm not able to get as good results as your low light footage. Did you shoot solely on 4K 60fps?
all the video from the Osmo Pocket was 4k 30fps
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography Thanks for that. I shall try again sometime soon. Thank you for your prompt responses.
No problem. Let me know how you make out.
I have it and I love it / it's the jam / nice video cheers
Thank you.
just got one ... love it. just need to be aware of its limitations ... once you understand it, its an amazing camera and video creator's tool.
So true. I always say "Once you understand the technical aspect, it then gives you the creative freedom".
How to use it as a stable(main) camera for shooting while sitting. For example, like your seating?
You use it the same as if you are standing/walking etc. If you are sitting and want to film yourself hands free, you can mount the camera to a tripod. Like I did on the Freewell wide angle lens video. If you want to see yourself in the LCD display, simply use the camera in selfie mode.
Michael C. Gray Photography should we use tilt mode? Thanks for your quick reply 😊
You can use tilt lock mode if you want. I normally just use the face tracking feature, follows your face if your moving around a lot.

THAT AND THE RODE WIRELESS GO THE BEST TWO TECHS OF 2019
Agree, I was looking at the Rode. The Rode looks really good.
Good review of the dji osmo pocket...
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
You run slow and walk fast Mike. That is cool! Great review. I am a subscriber already.
haha, I'm not much of a runner these days. Thank you for following along with me.

Can you give me the link to the osmo please?
One thing I don’t like about the Osmo is the slow crop motion
True, I wonder if it is a heat issue, like some others have mentioned before. I have not heard of an update coming either.
Can you explain what a "slow crop motion" is? I just got my Osmo Pocket.
It is slow motion crop. When you shoot in slow motion the video is cropped in, so it is zoomed in a bit.
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography ok got it thanks. I guess the work around is recording at 60fps and slow it down on post production.

What manual setting did you use for night time

Great. No filters needed
Yeah, this was straight out of the camera, no filters. It was literally what you see is what you get. I did not do anything in post production either.
Thanks
I bought it from Ebay for just $180 with shipping. Sale is still going on.
That is a crazy good deal!!
It just a stupid drone camera on your hand. Plus the accessories need to purchased sucks expensive. If you drop it. RIP.
