hello alan and shannon,i like youre video thats why i subscribe your vlog now. and i like the way you talk to the all locals here in our country. i hope you not forget it here in the philippines. i love you both
@PabloNaidasjr the eye test, common sense, the way she moves/looks is much younger.....the fact they get 100k when they turn 100 She has no birth certificate as that part of Kalinga doesnt have hospitals even today...90 years ago she would have been born in her house with no documents She claims to be 107...the average life expectancy in Kalinga is 68
This is my life walking 4 kilometers from house to school me and my friends our hobbies is camping and trekking swimming in the rivers exploring secret waterfalls. Im 28 yrs old now working and living in the big city and i miss those days.
in addition to the hospitality of rural villagers here in the philippines, some or many will be displeased if you rejected their food/coffee being offered to you.visitors, especially outsiders are always being treated hospitably.when i was a peasant organizer working for a certain national peasant federation in late 90s and i was based in a village of laurel, batangas i used to drink five cups of organic coffee every morning being given by the farmers.so that my throat is soring but can't take anymore beyond five cups.and some villagers became grouchy because they are offended and perceived that i rejected their offers.anyway, the cordillera region is known for exporting their organic rice to the us and europe.but ironically, the government is importing rice because of their liberalization policies and with the decline of rice production coz of the massive conversion of rice fields to other uses-commercialization etc.or if we can eat rice being produced here some have chemical fertilizers while others do not have,or have lesser chemicals, like the hybrid rice.
That's kalinga known for there hospitality 😊you cant leave a house not to be treated with foods, you asked the tour guide about emergency cases it's a practice in the Philippines that when some is sick an need to transport to tbe hospital there is called the "ayyud ambulance" they use a hard bamboo to tie a blanket and secured both ends for the patient safety while lying on it then strong men will help to carry to the nearest hospital or clinics, thats in the village before and now when not accesible by car or any kind of transpoo
People on the mountains have a long life. Especially in the usolated area. ,they work hard and exercise more, up and down in the mountain. They less process food anc eat organic. Than people living in ghe low land
If she’s 118 why is she not in Guinness Book of World Record ? Because Philippines is not a rich country, they only recognize those old 100 yr olds from Japan, Italy, Spain and other developed countries. Do justice for this woman.
There are some seriously old people in Nepal too. Maybe the altitude is something to do with it? Stronger heart and lungs than us lazy people with cars 😂
materialism as well, they are not materialistic, organic food, healthy lifestyle, walk and work everyday, simple life, happy people, no technology, not living in a fastpaced rat raced material focused society.
@sophielewistravelsandthing7104 yes and they wouldnt even know the months of the year, but they accurately know their age? Hence, Guinness rejects 80% of centenarian claims
maybe we can tell how old a woman from the hole of the earing. They do not expand their lobes there its just the time stretching the hole in the ear piercing.
I hope you guys cherish and always remember this experience! Have fun!

Look it up oldest woman is in world is 116 so not ture and not her she in Japan
There is a 117 year old from Spain
the lifestyle to avoid health problems or else big pharma will profit off you
Or just lie about your age
118 yrs old? She's 80
They get 100k pesos when they turn 100...so they have incentive to lie
Most were born in their house and have no records
that old lady is so cuteeeeee
I know she is so inspiring🥰
