  • We went to Dooney Rock Forest in County Sligo to explore and look for bluebells. We were too early for the bluebells but we fell in love with the stunning scenery.

Thank you for a great video, a lovely place indeed. The great William Butler Yeats who grew up in and around Sligo and is buried at Drumcliff wrote a poem about a character he called "The Fiddler of Dooney". A happy poem about how the good rural people love music and dance and will continue to do so in the 'next world'.
"When I play on my fiddle in Dooney
Folk dance like a wave of the sea..."

Take note of the wild garlic growing location - if you come back in the autumn and remember where (no foliage above ground at that time of the year) you can dig up the roots and they resemble spring onions!

Watch out with that wild garlic, it's very pungent. Use only a small amount.
