I learned some 52 in prison. A guy told me since it’s bareknuckle strike the forearms when they use the double forearm block. I love your instructionals Wolf-man. I’ve been watching you for over a decade. I love that you’re still going hard. You’re a Warrior. B.A.M.F(ather?) You know what I mean.
Elbow blocks are super vital to practice. Even past boxers used elbows to block and you can still see some bare knuckle fighters in the UK use it. I might look into the 52 Blocks because I feel that its very complementary for any MA/MMA alike.
This set, and the second set in particular, (2 sets of 26, making 52 Blocks), have really heightened my defence in Panantukan, and mesh seamlessly with the art. I have really noticed the improvement of my defence from the knowledge and skills imparted in your two vids of 26 Blocks each.
That kid will likely be forged into a human weapon down the track. Max respect for sharing such quality insights, info and drills in the 52 Blocks system. It is so similar to Kali/Eskrima empty hands...( Panantukan and the other branches thereof. They are extremely complimentary.)

I showed some applications, but no most pro fighters even have BAD EYES, they don't see shit, not like Floyd or Adesanya do. Most start scared, stay scared and blind, this trains the eyes and brain mapping of angle recognition, and lots of various ways to block/counter. DRILLS in anything are important. If you see what people like Diaz brothers, Yoel Romero, Robbie Lawler etc. are doing with hand game, this can help get you there....
@@bubbabubba1810 being afraid to try different styles they just box traditional. This got aspects of wing chun it opens up the mind to new ways of defence
There's more that could be added in, x-block, vampire block and so on. I like the drill, but blocking while backing can be bad to train because if it gets in the subconscious to allways back it can backfire in real fight, for example tripping over something or getting cornered. Most blocks will be effective if you close in the distance while blocking and while doing that you can either drop eye pokes, elbows or headbutts. Just to put that in mind while you do the drill.
I can see that also, as well as a great deal of Filipino Martial Arts empty hand....I guess it all comes down to the same things are effective using the human body for attack and defence, and/or the system is directly influenced thereby when it was formulated. It could be either, but very likely a mixture of both. It must be remembered that in the 60s and 70s when much of the 52 Blocks system practiced today was refined and formulated, there was a great deal of interest in Bruce Lee and in Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do etc. It is interesting to note that Bruce was trained in and incorporated a great deal of both Wing Chun and Filipino Martial Arts into his system and his fighting method. Co-incidence?....I don't think so, personally.....
