The singing fountain is perhaps the most beautiful fountain in Slovakia and the first singing fountain of its kind in former Czechoslovakia.
Originally built in 1986 by the mayor of the city Rudolf Schuster and 10 years later reconstructed and enlarged to its present form by the same mayor (later president of Slovakia).
