I sense a sinking feeling when you dropped the oil and whilst it was blackish had the correct volume in it. Newish looking filter also added to the potential doom of this transmission! Bugger! Here’s hoping for a miraculous recovery of the box!
That is your dipstick pipe that’s how you feel then that’s how you feel it up through there from the top you can get them out easy enough to do personally probably tried to do it and they can’t do it and I don’t know how to do it because P 38 range rovers are easy to work on diesel or petrol without diesel what you are you working on
I have done this job myself and changed the fluid a few times also, for anyone else looking to do it basically take your time and make sure all the little clamps including bolt heads/threads are all cleaned up prior to removing which includes a wire brush and some penetrating oil. Also there's corner clamps and those go on in a certain position, overall it's not a bad job just requires a bit of time, but is important you get it done right. After filling up the sump (small bead on filler plug), start the car, have a person shift through each of the gears from P to 3 for 2-3 seconds and keep filling then once you have a bead on the filler plug the job is done. I've also used some lucas transmission fix 10009 and that seems to make the gears change a lot smoother too, the oil change made a noticeable difference.
Well you know it could be dirty transmission fluid and lack of it because that’s what I do that’s what happens probably not much in there anyway it’s probably gone stale he’s probably gone black
If you’re gonna do that and not do it I’ll buy it off you and I’ll buy it with a knackered gearbox and put a week on the net recon gearbox in it tonight and you got a hole in the bucket as well it’s a bit of a Scooby Doo Doo
I right enjoyed this vid. Was like watching Morecombe and Wise comedy duo-hahaha
