- In the face of a mounting global water crisis, where 80% of the global population, across all continents, suffers from serious threats to their water supply, the call for innovative solutions has never been louder.
We are excited to announce the launch of XPRIZE Water Scarcity, a $119 million, 5-year global competition made possible by the Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative. XPRIZE Water Scarcity is designed to drive widespread access to clean water by innovating reliable, sustainable, and affordable technologies that revolutionize the desalination industry.
This competition invites thinkers, innovators, and problem-solvers from around the globe to develop solutions to effectively disrupt this industry. Learn more at xprize.org/water

Soo very happy for reliable water
This is soo soo beautiful Elon and the music it’s all soo majestic
Fresh water this is amazing
Theres a company Oceanbit who can pull thermal energy from the ocean. Maybe enough to efficiently desalinate seawater
Energy isn’t that big of an issue for desalination. The brine disposal is.

Not anymore😢 you upset me 😅😊
Have you heard about atmospheric water harvesting technology developed by a team of researchers from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign led by Dr Praveen Kumar, Afifa Rahman, Francino Dominguez, that harvests water vapors over the oceans? If these structures they've designed were also combined with carbon capture technology, they could produce enough water to meet the world's needs, as well as capture carbon from our oceans and atmosphere to protect our environment. Given what we're up against with climate change, I think we need to consider all options. ❤❤❤

I am not amused about this disgusting report avoiding the truth wherever possible.
Let’s take water produced from the sea by a desalination process. Why not tell us when it started with what amounts and what is produced today ? As the desalination process will continue even more exponentially a few hundreds of millions km3 a day there will be soon reached the level where the sea level falls.
