Well, the next time you see a disheveled person sitting alone prattling on about art and the state of the universe, reeking of sweat turpentine and a hint of anise the go ahead and hug them and say it's for Vincent.....

This man... I can't really put into words what he's done for my life. His inspirational quotes and his paintings - they all are affecting me, and I want to be like him. I wish he had been seen much more in his entire life. He had deserved it. He did what he wanted, and never listened to people's complainings. Thank you, Vincent, for bringing my soul and my heart to a better place. You'll never be forgotten. You deserved so much more.
Thank you for this, very beautiful and inspiring. It was the loneliness, the rejection that killed him as much as the bullet. He did sell two paintings, not one. If he had hung in a bit longer, but all got too much. Never give up on life.
Thank you! Just thank you! My eyes are always watering when I remember my pastoral fellow Vincent van Gogh, tears of joy & thankfulness & deep impression! Thank you from Germany from a retired Lutheran pastor! Van Gogh with his love for poor people and being true to his heart and art is my real idol. This short video in 5:31 min tells us about the real Van Gogh. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful video. I have selected my most favourite comments of him as the followings: “Love many things, for therein lies true strength. And whoever loves much, performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.” “I can’t change the fact that my paintings don’t sell. But the time will come when people will recognize that they are worth more than the value of the paints used in the picture.” “I don’t care much whether I live a long or short life. The world concerns me only insofar as I feel a certain indebtedness towards it…Because I have walked this earth for thirty years, and out of gratitude, want to leave some souvenir.”
Ωραία λοιπόν παιδιά μου, είμαι ο σωτήρας;) Ιδέες: The stars were really meaningful for him, he was optimistic, he was really poor even if he was a geat artist, he draw most of his paintings in the asylum Αυταααα
I (23M) will be visiting Saint Remy and Arles as a pilgrimage in June. It's my first time travelling abroad and I hope he somehow finds out how much he has influenced my thoughts.
Most of the ''geniuses'' of nowadays work only to accomplish fame, the idea of pile a fortune, of showing off possessions, etc. This GENIUS, the more he suffered, the more he was humiliated, the more he was rejected, the more he created; he searched comfort on his art, his craft, his dreams and illusions. It doesn't matter whether he was insane, depressed, any state he was in made him exceed the perfection on his paintings. No wonder why nobody was and will be able to even be closer to his style and technique.
"Beauty, passion and love... and his compassion for the poor", sums-up the life of Van Gogh. You have created a magnificent video that is based not of "historians interpretations" but as Van Gogh's own words. Bravo
talking about that man i think that with his paintings he could have peace and make his pain turn into something, something beautiful that I can't describe with words!...
This is so wonderful!! Thanks for sharing. I have a friend who's art teacher said her paintings were as 'bad' as Van Gogh. We told her that was a wonderful compliment even though the teacher tried to insult my friend.
very interesting.. very sad ... very very touching.. when i watched the video, i kept thinking of the song, starry night. and thanked in the singer ...
Vincent was such a wonderful human being... It really is unfair how he was so ignored and misunderstood by the world. Throughout his life he was practically struggling to survive, despite being so talented and we only get to recognize him after he's gone.
SO MUCH LOVE SENSIBILY SUCH A LOVING HUMAN BEING WITH SO MUCH PASSION AND TALENT IS VINCENT VAN GOGH SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SOUL THAT ONE COULD ONLY WISH THAT WE COULD HAVE TALKED TO HIM ! HE WAS SO ELOQUENT INTELLIGENT TALENTED
Great! One quote of his i like (paraphrasing) : "We all lose our first youth, but if you become an artist you gain a second youth that - with work - never leaves."
After watching the rage of the WBC this has calmed down my heart Van Gogh has long been one of my favorite artists and these quotes of him of which I never knew, more beautiful a man then I ever before guessed :)
Beautiful!!! I feel like I have understood him more through this video. I was wondering if I could share this with my daughter's class which I'm about to teach a lesson on Van Gogh.
inspiring,...I love his Bold brushstrokes,...I'm in the middle of a painting myself, and while wanting to attempt his style, I was afraid of " ruining it",...but now I will go for it!! :-)
“I dream of painting and them I paint my dreams” Vincent -- One day Ill find a quote from Van Gogh that doesn’t make me openly weep, but with god ( the stars) as my witness today is not that day!
This is one fine soothing informative video on Vincent's life and a fair biography of his ten years as an artist . I enjoyed reading some of his favorite quotes. Thanks for creating it for us to see and also feel.
If anyone has time to kill (quarantine), do yourself a favor and look up the letters he wrote to his friends and family, mainly his brother, confidant, and unwavering supporter, Theo Van Gogh. So much of his character can be read from his writings, and you will learn that he was a very intelligent soul. It seems sometimes that being an intelligent man in a dumb world can be more of a curse than a blessing. It makes me feel blessed to be a dummy XD
Me conmueve la soledad, tristeza e incomprensión que vivió un genio de la pintura...después de años los japoneses compraron en millones de dólares sus maravillosos Girasoles....

Vincent van Gogh is literally the only person who can make me want to live. If I'm alive right now, it’s because of him and his artwork.
How one man can have so much love in his heart, especially considering the circumstances... well, it silences me.
Thank you for this, very beautiful and inspiring. It was the loneliness, the rejection that killed him as much as the bullet.
He did sell two paintings, not one. If he had hung in a bit longer, but all got too much. Never give up on life.
We watched this video in my school!!! That's amazing! Vincent is a really good man, everyone at that time doesn't understand his art =(

very well said...Van Gogh still speaks to our hearts to this very day.
this is surely the most beautiful tribute to Van Gogh - love, appreciation, and inspiration. Thank you for such a glorious vignette of his life.

Morela Vought in order to create, you must destroy. But it doesnt have to work that way.
I LOVE THIS !! Thank you Ms. Lewis. An artist in her own right.
Interesting.

Amazingly inspiring, as I have felt unseen and before my time. Proof that we should always follow our heart, not look for external validation.
